The backyard looks amazing, the staff was professional and we plan on using them again. The owner repeatedly checked on the progress of the job and followed up with us several times after completion to ensure everything was going well. Questions and phone calls were answered in a timely manner.

R&S is a professional organization with top notch folks who know their trade. From the initial meeting to the final proposal, our main point of contact, Rocky, was fantastic. He knows his area of practice and is willing to share his knowledge. Definitely a great person to deal with.

They were very professional and punctual. They answered the phone every time I called and they were both courteous and knowledgeable. I had a great experience from beginning to end and I would definitely used them again for any future landscaping needs.

Called for an evaluation and Jon came to inspect the backyard to see what was needed. He gave many recomendation to reduce the water from getting to the house ie. gutter cleaning, larger gutters, downspout placemnts etc. went right to work with giving me a thorough explaination of what needed to be done. told him other contractors told me a more expensive job was needed, but he suggested the simpilier and least expensive plan. i went with him for his knowledge, ability to listen, and experience. We set a time a week later and a foreman came over with 2 men. The forman went over the procedure again and ask if I had any questions and told the men what to do. The men went right to work from 9-3 in spite of the 90 degree temperature and finished the job without stopping except for lunch. They were happy to answer all my questions and were very professional. They even were nice enough to move some heavy stones I couldn't lift and take them back to a wall to clear the area. I would devinatley use them again. I highly recommend their services for an honest evaluation and value.

One guy came over and was to get back to me with the plan. I also thought he said he would send someone else out to take additional measurements. I did not hear anything so I called them. They said they were very backed up and I never heard anything else from them. I was displeased with whole situation.

Well I purchased a landscaping design for $100. Agent did show up to see my property a few times and to take measurements. After about 4 weeks, I was presented with a quote and design. Although the design did seem very professional I thought the price was high and explained that I would need to discuss with my wife before proceeding. I asked for the design and was refused. He said he would come back to show the design. So basically I paid $100 for someone to come to the house and give me an unrealistic quote.

Over the course of two days the crew cleared out and dug up the whole yard area, put down fresh topsoil, planted shrubs, trees and flowers, mulched around everything, and laid the stone. There were a couple of design changes that happened on the fly due to availability of certain plants and finding out we didn't have quite as much room as we wanted for everything. I had asked for an English cottage-garden style that would also incorporate a lot of plantings for butterflies, birds and bees. I was very pleased with the design and the execution. The designer was on site both days and was pleasant and easy to work with and extremely flexible with my needs. A few weeks after the work was completed, I found aphids on some of the plants (must have come from the nursery). The owner of the company himself came out and treated the plants at no additional cost. About two months after the planting, a couple of the flowering plants died despite my following the after care instructions carefully. . The designer came out with replacements again at no charge (the replacements survived and thrived). One year later, all of the plantings have matured, everything has filled in beautifully. I have added a few small touches here and there as the garden has evolved. My neighbors are constantly stopping by to complement the garden. Overall very happy with the service.

.R&S is a full-service landscape firm that will provide many different types of services, depending on your preferences and budget. I do find it relatively easy to adjust the level of services according to our needs. They offer to do specialized work at certain parts of the season, such as installing fall flowers. They also accept payment online

Things went well as far as the install. The wall looks nice and well constructed.They are very professional with their contract as it is very thorough and detailed. The only issue we had with R&S were with some email communications and follow-up phone calls. Many calls to R&S were not returned promptly and sometimes not at all unless we called again. Also when we called to confirm the date we scheduled for them to do the work we were told they would have to reschedule. With all the delays from the above mentioned communications issues another delay would have meant a August planting (we began the process in June), too late for many of the flowers to bloom so we threatened to cancel the project...Long story short they showed up on the scheduled date after the threat. I want to add that during the communications issue, no one from R&S was rude or behaved in any negative way. Through it all everyone was polite. Overall I would most likely go to them for other work in the future. I just now know that as far as follow-up they need a little finesse and attention from the person who hires them.

I purchased a coupon for $111.00 to have R&S Landscaping come out to my home and draw up landscaping plans. A man came on May 31st,l 2013. I have an old fish pond which I may have to remove and I specifically asked them to come up with some type of water feature to take the place of the old pond. I waited several weeks and called several times asking when I would get the plans. I left messages because no person every answered the phone. Finally another man called and asked if he could come and see the property. I agreed. He came on July 15, 2013. I specifically told him that I needed something interesting to take the place of the fish pond. He also said he would give me a price to install underground sprinklers. I waited several weeks for the plans and kept calling, leaving messages. Finally I wrote a bad review and he immediately called and left an urgent phone message.. I called Angies List and requested a refund. It was suggested that I look at the plans first and if they were not satisfactory I would get a refund. I felt that was fair so I agreed. When the plans arrived I was shocked! First of all the plans showed the fish pond when I had specifically asked them to do a different water feature. There was nothing planned for my side yard, nothing on the plans for the area between the two driveways where I wanted it terraced with plants instead of grass, I asked for flowers that bloom all summer and he was giving me all the plants I already have - lilacs, azaleas, etc. There was no price listed for the underground sprinklers either. The plans were nothing like what I envisioned for my property and I would never do business with any company who was so negligent before the order was even placed. I have so many trees that I have all shade in my yard. His plan called for five more trees and several bushes that would grow up to eight feet wide. I had asked for flowers that bloom all summer but there were none on the plans. There was nothing in the plans that I had asked for and more than two months were wasted waiting for the plans. I received a refund from Angie's List and am looking for another landscaper.

I recently bought my house, the property had not been worked on in meany years. The gardens were very over grown Julie and her partner did a great job!! Looks like a totally different back yard!!! Both Julie and her partner were very professional.

It went well with R&S Landscaping. It took a little while to get to me because I think the big deal was really successful so they have a lot of takers but I was satisfied with the final product. I would recommend them. They were professional and knowledgeable. The big deal was a good deal but the pricing to do the subsequent work was pretty high.

It was not good. They were over the top on the cost. We've had other landscape work done. We were looking to build a planting bed into a hill. It would be a little more work. Their estimate to come do the work was silly stupid. It happens a lot, because of where we live, they think everybody has a big, empty checkbook. They think we don't have a budget but we do. It was a waste of our time. They were professional and everything but just too expensive. They came out and gave us a design and then wanted an arm and a leg and our gold teeth. They were timely. They did a complete drawing and everything.

We had purchased a big deal for a landscaping plan, which was don quite a while ago, and then from there we purchased the landscaping service that the plan provided. We were very happy with the plan. The president of the company, came out, and sat with us, and listened to what we wanted, and what our issues were, that we were trying to fix. We liked the plan, and we added some variations, that he was fine with that, he was very receptive.

He came, checked, and gave me a proposal of seven heads that needed to be changed. He said it would take several hours to do it. I feel like I could do that in a few minutes and I’m not a specialist.

They were really late in the year. The new grass seed had no chance to sprout.They still charged us. for it We had been talking since spring. hey were very good about doing the work and clean up.

Job was done fine. Price was very reasonable. Overall a very good experience.

Since I wanted just grass clipping at the time and no other services, not every landscaper was interested in servicing my home. Since it was several years ago and I stopped using their services. it was for one of two things that happened - either they raised their price and I did not believe it was worth the extra money; or they were doing less than an average job. It would not be fair for me to post any other review since I made the decision to use another landscaper - 5th Avenue Landscapers - which I have been using for the past several years at the same $50/week price. My yard is .66 acres and a bit hilly in places so not everyone was interested in performing a good job. I can tell you that here in Ridgewood and on my street, there are at least two homeowners currently using their services since I see their trucks! I hope this review helps. R&S Landscaping did a good job with the professional drawing that they put together. It was clearly a beautiful drawing and they added a lot of expertise to that side of the equation. One of the things that I was looking for is landscape design and part of it was around pool placement within the yard. That's sort of where they didn't do a fantastic job. Otherwise, I think their services were great. Unfortunately, when I went to go to the second stage of the project, which was to get a pool company over here, most of the pool companies said they could put a pool in my backyard, but it would be extremely expensive and they would have to bust up everything else. So I kind of held off on the project because I'm trying to figure out if I want to move or if I want to continue to stay here without a pool. Overall, they did a great job. I'd like to move forward with them, but the whole plan kind of got screwed up, with not being able to have a pool here. They were kind of expensive, but they seemed reasonable to work with.

On a personal level Rob was very nice and courteous. On a professional level he was very knowledgeable about his craft and very helpful about painting a picture for the uninitiated. We will likely retain him to do part or all of the actual work, although overall his price was expensive. The big deal was definitely worth the price! We would recommend R&S to anyone looking for a high-end landscape design company.

Jon came by and took in what our ideas were and transformed them on paper. We are still working on tweaking things and have not gone beyond the initial design. We appreciated all he did and will be in contact with them regarding going forward.

Top notch! Our technician, Louis, was able to come earlier than planned, so he called ahead and freed up the rest of our day. He was knowledgeable and friendly. He located and fixed an un-resolved issue with the valve that our prior sprinkler people (Corner to Corner Irrigation) had not resolved even though we paid for it. I appreciated his finding that issue and taking care of it for us. We used our Angie's List coupon for the turn on and shut off service but after today's visit, we intend to use R&S Landscaping for all our sprinkler needs in the future. Thank you again, Louis!!!

Timely service. Worker very polite & informative. Too early for results. Have contacted them for some landscaping work as well (to be done). All people from phone to coming to property very polite, timely.

Rob is professional and delivered the drawing within the promised time. We didn't go with the proposed project in the end as we need to focus on something else. But will consider him in the future when we decide to move on.
