+ -1 moreI had used Peter Englishman and Sons several years ago to do a new driveway comprised of blacktop and a surround of Belgium block etc.. They did an outstanding job. So when it came time to do some sealing and minor repair I called for an estimate and agreed to do at their convenience. Several calls (5) and several commitments (5) later and still no response just broken promises to do the work. Hard to imagine, guess business is good!

Description of Work: Craig provided an estimate to redo my driveway. He came when he said he would. His estimate was just a bit higher than the company I used. I would definetly consider them again for future jobs.

Description of Work: Called and got voicemail. Left my name, address and phone# and the specifics of the job (two (2) parallel driveways in a townhouse community. Length and width of the driveways). Never received a return phone call.

Description of Work: Based on Angie's list ratings I contacted this company to replace our driveway. I received a call back within a few hours of my inquiry and the person told me he would stop to do an estimate on Friday afternoon, October 12 or Saturday morning October 13. I was home the entire time. In fact, I can't leave home as I am recovering from surgery. He never showed up, and never called to reschedule. I called the company again on Monday, stated in my message that we were still interested in getting the work done, left my number and asked for a return call to reschedule an estimate. No one ever called again. I have since found another company that has been very responsive and is scheduled to do our work.

The work was completed by a team of highly professional workers, responsibilities were well orchestrated and the repaving was quick, taking less than 4 hours. Craig Englishman, our contact, was very patient and responded to all our calls. He provided information on all aspects of the job. The work site was clean and neat when they finished.
Description of Work: Large rocks and tree roots had made our long and sloping driveway very uneven and dangerous. Englishman completely excavated the driveway and evened it out one day. On another day they removed the gate and balanced it. Asphalt was applied smoothly and the gate was restored. Caution tape was placed around the area. Result: A beautiful, safe driveway.

+ -1 moreAn approximate 50 foot section of my driveway toward the street was damaged by time and weather. They removed that section and filled back with gravel and surfaced with asphalt, then sealed entire driveway. Also took care not to damage a pet radio fence wire crossing that section of the driveway. Very fast, professional and clean job, and a fair price.
Description of Work: Replaced damaged section of driveway and sealed entire driveway.

+ -1 moreThe project went well from start to finish with clear and concise communication throughout. The workers were neat and cleaned up at the end of each day. They kept to themselves and concentrated on completing the work.
Description of Work: Peter Englishman & Sons removed an existing broken down driveway and installed a new asphalt driveway, as well as a beautiful brick paver patio, walkway, and driveway edging & apron. Their work was meticulously and carefully done and the end result is beautiful!

+ -1 moreThe Englishman Company was prompt and very efficient. I had no problem reaching them, and they came when they promised.
Description of Work: The company ripped up the old, worn, and crumbling drive way. They put down layers of stone and gravel, and after 1 1/2 weeks laid and compressed the asphalt. The new drive is 8 feet wide for most of its length, and flares out near the garage to 15 - 16 feet. It is approximately 75 feet long.

+ 0 moreWent extremely well. They worked quickly and the end product is everything I could have hoped for. The only downside is they are hard to get a hold of and so busy that there's often a long lead-in time before they can do the work.
Description of Work: Englishman dug up my old concrete driveway and walkway and carted it away. They then put down new asphalt and lined the driveway with Belgian block (curbstone) they also put in a beautiful walkway made of pavers.
