Horizon Pest Control

They have done very well for us. This is our second year with them. We have been very happy with their services. We have had very great experience with them. We shopped around and I think it came down that they were much cheaper than some of the vendors we called.

Visit went well. They notified me what I signed up for was different than what I really needed. I opted to stay with my current package and upgrade to address original issue after each product was explained to me. Assessor was very professional.

Needed to treat our home for evidence of existing termite damage prior to home sale. They treated the interior space and will return when the ground thaws to treat the exterior. They came on time and performed all the services as stated. I would use them again.

Courteous and informative. Large drop off in bug activity. No sign of rodents.

A sudden appearance of ants was the reason we called. They came right away to inspect the situation and the problem was treated only a few days after that. Several weeks later, we found more ants, so they came out and did another treatment. There was no additional charge for the extra visit. The yearly contract details were clearly explained and defined. The individual that came to do the treatment was very knowledgeable and supportive. Great care was taken because there are pets in the house. I have confidence that they will resolve the ant issue no matter how many times/visits it takes.

They will come out anytime I need them, but the contract is twice a year to service. I give them a call if I see a few more spiders in the house than I normally would. I have them come out and spray it.

My parents had been using Hoizon since 1995 for termites. The contract was accidently dropped (my fault) in June 2014. I had expected an additional charge in trying to get another contract with Horizon. I was surprised that the whole process would have to start again, with a charge of over $1,000.00. The house was covered by Horizon for almost 19 years. This does not seem right. I choose another pest control company to take care of the house.

One person came to do this and it took about an hour. He arrived on time and was professional. After they came we never heard or saw another mouse. They were responsive, and knowledgeable. There price was comparible to other companies.

Went well. Hopefully the ants won't come back!

Charged 295$ for removal of wasp nest at front of house. Came next day, did service on the spot. Two weeks late they came back, i called on a sunday, left a message. They were back monday morning, and retreated, without charging for the re treatment as this was under warranty...very pleased with their availability and professionalism.

Highly recommended!! (Will post an update next year to let you know if it worked!). For the past two years before I checked Angie's List, I called up a random animal control company to deal with what I was told were squirrels in the attic. The next year the scurrying sounds came back but the exterminator told me that it was just because there must be a hole somewhere (he didn't bother to locate it). He threw around some squirrel baits again but the sound came back again this summer. Fed up after the second time, I tried Horizon based on the excellent referrals from Angie's List. Because it was pest season, it took a few weeks to get an appointment but I think it is always well worth the wait to get someone highly qualified. They confirmed the day before and showed up on time. Luke was a very nice, knowledgeable, and professional guy, but more importantly, he discovered something that the company missed: BATS!!! He informed me that what the other company did was not only illegal but completely ineffective because they were using squirrel traps that were completely untouched and that the droppings clearly indicated a bat problem. In addition, he said the reason they were coming in was because of major damage in the attic screens. It was obvious he really knew his stuff and explained in detail why and how they would need to deal with the problem in a legal way. They fixed the screen and set up the tunnel to lure the bats out and keep them out. In addition, he volunteered to clean up all the baits and as much of the droppings as possible for no extra charge. He is scheduled to come back and remove the tunnel in a week. Based on my quick research, I would say that the price is slightly on the higher end but given that I wasted two years on a company that did nothing, I thought it was well worth it to get someone who knew what he was doing. He was also nice enough to work out an arrangement to fit my budget. I'm not sure if it would be worth it for say, an ant problem that will probably come back the next year but if you want someone to get rid of an animal for good, I strongly recommend you go with this company.

I had them come out for a free consult and estimate. The price he gave was very expensive and much higher than other companies and they cover fewer bugs. The guy was very arrogant and also couldn't tell me what more they do than the other companies, i.e why I should pay more to use them than the other company I am using now. In the end we didn't switch to horizon.

We bought a 13-year-old townhouse and after previous horrific experiences with townhouse rentals, wanted to double check whether there were pests/rodents before we moved all of our belongings in. The guy who came (Angel) not only put to ease lots of our fears but also was extremely informative of the nature of mice, flea eggs, etc. He clearly knows pest control. Didn't try to pressure me to buy anything after being honest and saying there were no problems with the townhouse. That deserves praise right there. We've been here for a few weeks now, and he was right - no pest/rodent problems. But, I know if something does come up in the future, I'll be calling him. Thanks, Angel!

This is the second time Horizon has come in and solved a problem that someone else did not. Why would it happen twice? The second was bedbugs and I called a bedbug specialist. I'm very allergic to them. Their bites swell and itch intolerably for a few days. After two treatments from the specialist I was still getting bitten. It had to have been a very minor infestation or I would have gotten bitten every night. But I did not and I was able to escape to another bedroom. Finally, I called Horizon. They did a treatment and didn't think I had a bedbug problem. Nobody could find evidence except that captured one early on in the saga. It was obviously a bedbug and the specialist affirmed that. Horizon did a treatment that required us to leave the house for 4 hours. I have not been bitten since. The treatment that I purchased includes a bedbug insurance. So if they do show up again, I'm covered. The first time they eradicated a serious cockroach infestation. If you have a problem with pests, these are the people to call.

They responded quickly, came in and go the job done promptly. The pricing was competitive with other companies.

Contacted provider through Angie's list website (via message). After receiving no response, I called the provider and scheduled an appointment for July 1st. The lady confirmed the appointment, and I also informed her that I had sent a message earlier through Angieslist, and that they may miss other potential customers also in case they don't check it. Anyway, they were a no-show, and didn't call to reschedule. So I will take my business somewhere else. If they can't even show up to give an estimate, then I can't rely on them providing good service.

Contacted company to schedule free estimate for carpenter ant problem. We were able to schedule the appointment for the next day so that was great. However, when we called for the appointment we mentioned an Angie's List discount coupon we had printed off this site but the receptionist had no idea about a coupon. She suggested we show it to the technician when he came out for the estimate. When the technician came he did the usual review of the property and mentioned what their work would entail. He quoted us a price of $475 for a single application. When we showed him the $50 off coupon he stated he wasn't sure they could accept it. We had another appointment with a competitor later that day but decided to go with Horizon since they had more reviews on this site. When we tried to call them the next day and indicated our desire to move forward and inquired again about being able to use the coupon they still refused and finally came back with an offer of 10% off the price which would be $47.50 less compared to what we were nicely asking for - $50 off. The reason for the F review is that they weren't accommodating, and not customer service focused AT ALL and instead of being happy about getting business they made a stink about $2.50!!!! If you don't plan to honor your own offer, don't offer the coupon! (***as I write this review I notice that the coupon has been removed from 3 weeks ago when I printed it)

Year contract for pest control. The level of service and completeness was astounding. They did a full complete inspection lookinf or any signs of invasive pests. The degree of knowledge from their employees was the thing that really blew me away. The inspector who came to the house first was able to see that there had once been a termite infestation and while gone we should monitor for it which helped protect me in the future. The employee who actually came out and did the treatment was also extrememly knowledgable. He was able to track down all the points of entry for the ants. They treated for the ants but they also installed termite monitoring stations and if I ever have any problems with pests during this time they'll come out again at no charge. They even called and followed up after to make sure everything was good. For the price of the contract all potential pest problems are covered.

They are good. I am using them on annual basis for pest control. They also removed a racoon and it's babies out of my attic. They did a good job.

I am very happy with them. We have a yearly contract. They treat the exterior of the house. They are friendly, and neat. They come right away when there is a problem. I do think they are very expensive and there are a lot of things that they don’t cover; they don’t cover a lot of bugs, you have to pay for that extra.

It went really well. They were professional, on time and incredibly easy to work with. They were timely, courteous and all around did a great job.

In December 2013 we called Horizon after seeing a raccoon climb to the roof and enter a hole by a soffit. Horizon came out and placed traps on the roof. Luke, the technician was very professional and provided pertinent information on expectations. After a month, two animals were trapped and removed. Later in May 2014, we received another visitor who managed to make another hole in the roof. We asked for Luke as he had a history of the work. Another tech came instead, and he placed the traps on the wrong roof. We called to complain about this, and the mistake was rectified the next day. Currently, there are two traps on the roof, but no action yet.

After using another service that I was paying on a per visit basis (also reviewed on Angie's List) I hired Horizon who was referred to me by my contractor. The infestation was less after the first company, but far from cured. Horizon came in and in two visits nearly eliminated the roaches. I spoke to the manager about a few remaining bugs, he came himself, and went after them. Haven't seen a roach again. And the service is paid for until next February. The guarantee includes a number of pests.

Very professional company; arrived on schedule and performed work in timely manner.

We had one raccoon living in our soffit/dormer. After a week, we caught the raccoon, and she was removed and released with additional traps put up in case of more raccoons. Now we are confident that we don't have any more critters. I still have to call them to seal the breached area (included in the price). They have been incredibly punctual, professional and their communication was top-notch.
