We're located in an office building and when we moved in we last year knew it was just a question of time before the HVAC would give out. Great White didn't push, they said to maintain for a year and see how the system worked out. They maintained it for us and kept it going until the repairs weren't worth it anymore and they suggested we replace it, rather than continue to throw money at an old system that would need to be replaced soon anyway. Though times are tough to get equipment, Great White was able to get us new equipment and replace our old system and install it on budget and in a reasonable amount of time. They also balanced the problem we had with temperature variances, by adding a zone. Now everyone is comfortable and the temperature throughout the office is stable. What Great White says in their quote, is what Great White does!! Very happy with their services.

Great White has installed AC for the whole house back in 2016, but have not connected Trane CleanEffects Whole Home Air Cleaner to the power. In 2021 Dylan has acknowledged the problem, then stopped returning my calls - thus my previous negative review (can't seem to update it). Last month I've reached Dennis and the issue was resolved in a week. Overall I think Great White does quality work - other HVAC professionals said that it looking at my setup that it's a good job. Just make sure if you are unhappy with one rep, to reach another.

I would like to strongly discourage anyone from contacting Great White Mechanical as I have had a very dissatisfying experience with them. This company takes advantage of senior citizens. Great White Mechanical is dishonest with its practices by (a) not disclosing service fees to potential customers prior to the technician's visit; (b) charging its customers an unreasonable service fee without performing any work/service whatsoever during the visit; and (c) falsely telling its customers that the service fee would be applied to the work they perform (i.e. a deposit) but not refunding the money when I found a less expensive contractor to assist me. When I asked for proof from Great White Mechanical that I consented to the service fee, I received radio silence on their end.

We do not take advantage of any of our customers. We specifically stated during our phone call that there would be a service charge for our visit. We record all phone conversations for instances like these. We need to pay our service technicians for their time working. In this situation we stated, which is recorded, that if this homeowner were to go with a new system with us we would deduct the service call diagnostic fee from the installation. He decided to go with another company for installation, therefore our service call was a full charge. This homeowner also decided to pay only $100 of the service call fee, therefore there is a balance still due for this service call.

Dylan came to my home mid June 2021 to provide a quote on installing 2 ductless mini splits. He said that if I went with the system he was recommending, "he could get me $2,000 back" via my energy provider's rebate program. Given this rather large incentive, I went ahead and agreed to go with Great White Mechanical for installation. I signed the agreement with them on June 22, 2021. On Aug 17 2021, I was contacted by Great White who advised that the units I ordered were on backorder due to pandemic-related supply chain issues. At that time, they offered to install 2 different, cheaper units and said that the rebate would still apply. I asked for the difference between the two (other than cost) and was told Dylan would get back to me however he never did. As a result, I declined and said I'd wait for what I originally ordered. Between mid August and early November I had to follow up with Theresa several times asking for an update on when these units might back in stock. Often times I was left hanging without any response. There was zero initiative to keep me, the paying customer, informed. On Nov 15/16, 2021 they finally came to install the units (side note: during the installation process, they almost ruined my new stair runner by putting down filthy drop cloths. While I understand accidents happen, they never bothered to alert me to the stains; instead they left me to find it on my own!) Once the job was complete and full payment was provided (minus the cost of carpet cleaning), I asked about the status of my rebate. After many months of repeated follow ups to be ignored for weeks at a time (again), they told me that I am no longer eligible because the units were not installed by Jun 30, 2021 (essentially 4 days after I signed the contract...clearly not even remotely possible!) They made NO mention of this change in rebate requirements at any point in time between Jun 22nd (when I signed the contract) and Nov 14 (the day before they installed the units). On top of that, upon delivering this bad news, they essentially told me it wasn't their fault, that I need to take it up with my energy provider, and that these rebate programs change all the time. While that may be the case, I find it completely misleading that when I signed the contract, Dylan didn't advise me to reach out to PSEG directly to confirm eligibility of the rebate program. I also find it completely surprising that they weren't aware of this change or knew about it shortly thereafter given how often they deal with energy providers and their rebates. Instead, this company lead me to believe I'd be getting back a sizable amount of money. Given their lack of (and sometimes misleading) communication throughout the entire process, their discourteous attitude when I asked for additional information/clarification, as well as their total disregard for my home and keeping it clean during the job, I do NOT recommend using Great White Mechanical for any of your HVAC needs.

We have had numerous phone conversations with this customer. We were transparent with the rebate and the parameters that we were aware of. The energy provider had changed the qualifications and parameters, which left this homeowner unable to qualify for the said rebate - this was out of our control. However, since then we had applied for the next rebate that was in effect and the homeowner qualified for. It was advised that the homeowner contact the energy provider regarding the issue as this was OUT OF OUR CONTROL. As for the runner on the stairs, we did not use filthy drop cloths. We take pride in our work and our installation technicians take pride in their work as well. As a curtesy, we deducted the cost of the carpet cleaning from the homeowners total cost. There was no disregard for the customers home, our technicians are careful while working. The home was kept clean during installation, please do not fabricate. Our installation was completed professionally and up to code. We take pride in our work and our customer satisfaction is important to us. Unfortunately, this situation regarding the rebate issue was out of our control.

Dylan's team has installed whole house AC system. Later I've discovered that air cleaner was never connected to power, so it was just passively filtering collecting the dust. I've showed it to Dylan, he promised to order the part and install it. Well, it was 9 months ago, he doesn't pick up, doesn't call back and I am stuck with the part that I can't fix myself because Trane sells parts to professionals only. It's a few minutes job, but once the company has the money, they don't seem to care.

I've resided in my home for 31 years. I've been a consumer since I've reached majority. Never have I dealt with company with such disregard, disrespect for a consumer. Specifically the agents who came to the job, were rude, arrogant and condescending. The operators who I followed up on the phone with ("Teresa"), said they were too busy and she would forward my message. I explained that I had been waiting for an outcome for over 25 days and she said I should hire another company and proceeded to hang up the phone. The worst customer relations and work ethic I've ever encountered. This is the first company I've ever written a review about. I would discourage any consumer from dealing with this company.

When we arrived to the home and inspected the boiler and hot water heater we noted to the customer that the set up was illegal and against code (oil and gas fired equipment venting through the same chimney). We presented her with an estimate to replace her heating system bringing everything up to code. We will not install/replace something knowing it is against code, dangerous and illegal. This is the reason for the above comment from [Member Name Removed] not that anyone was condescending, rude or disrespectful. As a company we go over and above to try and satisfy our customers, we rely on our customers reviews to promote our business. In this case we were called out for an estimate during the influx of customers without heat and hot water due to Hurricane Ida. We explained the situation that the estimate will be a few weeks out, the customer stated that she would wait for our estimate. She also stated that she cannot get any other contractor to work for her, and that Angie gave her our contact information and insisted she call us. I will state once again that we will not install or replace any equipment that would be against code, illegal or dangerous. It's a shame that a company with our great standing has to defend our reputation against someone who clearly has an agenda.

We recently had Great White Mechanical (GWM) replace our water heater and two boilers. They first did the water heater and that went without incident. The crew sent over was professional, explained what was happening and cleaned up well. A few weeks later they tackled the boilers. The job involved replacing the two old boilers with one new boiler. Again, the crew arrived on time and worked in a professional manner. They finished up and tested the boiler successfully. Since then (Sept.) the ambient temperature did not require heat from the boiler. The town inspector came on Oct 1 and I decided to try the boiler. It would not work. An early morning call to GWM was placed and a tech was here at 7 :30 am. The GRW tech worked with the boiler manufacture's tech support and replaced parts. GWM worked on the issue and came back on early the next business day. GWM finally resolved the issue the following day. Throughout the issue, they were always professional and kept me updated. I would definitely recommend GWM.

I was a customer for many years. Since ownership changed my recent experience has been terrible. I had a routine HVAC maintenance visit. It was discovered that I needed a new distribution tube and water valve. Instead of changing it on the spot, they told me that they had to come back because apparently they do not stock the truck with basic rudimentary HVAC items, then proceeded to charge me for the visit ($200) for changing my filter. We paid in good faith believing that on the return visit there would be no service charge. They told us that the first visit was a diagnostic visit. Really? When my wife called to question this, one of the service individuals raised his voice at her! Run from Great White because they will eat you alive!

Great White destroyed a brand new kitchen cabinet while doing work on our $100,000 kitchen remodel. I have reached out to Dylan, the owner, through numerous e-mails and he will not return calls. The company sent a discounted invoice leaving me to find a company to fix the cabinet. Dylan has not made a single effort to contact me or fix the problem. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Went GREAT !! Dylan, Jeff, Theresa were all great in quickly getting us an appt to review our home and needs and then provided us with 3 options, all very competitively priced. Once we received the town permit, they scheduled a team to start within a week. The install team led by Billy, did a GREAT job and completed all work within two days. They were friendly, courteous, and minimized any debris from the installation as well as a complete cleanup each day. We would highly recommend Great White to anyone needing HVAC work.

Great White helped me with my oil-to-gas conversion. They also arranged for the oil tank removal and replaced my hot water heater. It's an old house and they did a wonderful job. They were complimented by the office staff at my city building dept. as well as by the inspectors. The price was reasonable and I plan to use them for maintenance moving forward. I highly recommend Great White Mechanical.

On August 28, my second floor AC unit indicated that there was a wiring fault. I called the emergency line which was promptly answered. I explained what my problem was and they said that I would have a service representative show up at my house within the hour. The representative arrived approximately 40 minutes after my call. He quickly determined that there was a short in the system but since it was late and dark he could not research the cause of the fault until daytime. He returned on August 29th at noon (exactly when he said he would be back) and determined that a squirrel had built a nest in the leader pipe to the second floor AC unit and had eaten the wires causing the short. They quickly bypassed the existing wire and installed a new wire to the second floor AC unit and resolved the problem. The service representative stayed until he was sure that the unit worked properly. Since there was a potential for the faulty wire to short the existing thermostat, he installed a new one and fully configured it to my specifications. In the case of this issue, Great White did an outstanding job in promptly and quickly resolving my issue. Another issue occurred on August 30 where the same AC until was not producing cold air. This was a totally unrelated issue to the earlier one. I called Great White and a service representative arrived within 3 hours. The problem was determined to be possibly related to an electrical power spike and he reset the unit and ensured that all was working properly. Again, their service and responsiveness was outstanding. Over the years Great White has performed several services for me covering AC, electrical, furnace and water heaters. In each case their responsiveness and service was outstanding. In addition, they have been more that fair with their pricing. I highly recommend them.

Poor, unacceptable customer service! Tried making an appointment with the representative by the name Theresa, who in the first call, was cordial and professional. Some mixup happened with the appointment time for an estimation visit and the meetup with the technician Dylan didn't happen, as a result. On calling back the company, to sort out what happened and to reschedule an appointment, Theresa spoke very, very rudely. It wasn't even clear how the mixup happened, or who's fault it was, but it's a rep's job to anyhow 'professionally' sort out the matter, especially when a potential client is being cordial on the other line. The technician Dylan also came on the line for a couple of minutes to prove his point with a rather curt tone! Anyhow, at the end of the call, a fresh new appointment was made. No-one showed up on the day; didn't even receive a call. Nothing! Absolutely not calling this company again! Thankfully got the job done by another supremely professional team of HVAC installers.

After contacting the office, my call was quickly returned by Dylan who promptly sent the appropriate crew to handle the job. The guys at GWM are always punctual, polite, and professional. The crews never leave a mess, and they always explain the problems and solutions well.

They re-designed my entire AC duct system and created a more efficient AC system for my house. GWM installed my generator and did all the electrical work to install a new circuit breaker. They have diagnosed, and either repaired or replaced parts of my aging AC system, including their most recent visit to detect and fix a leak in a forced hot air system above my closet.

Within 15 minutes after noticing the leak on my hot water heater, Dylan responded and showed up at my house shortly there after. Dylan noticed that the water heater was still under warranty and would cost me very little for the heater and a reasonable amount for labor. What I like so much about Great White is that they just don't replace the item defective, they replace all of the connecting valves and flue. No one in the past has ever done that. In addition, Dylan noticed that I had french drains in my basement and recommended that I add a drip pan under the heater that would drain into the french drain if this happened again. What a great idea. Installation was perfect and within a couple of hours I was back up and running. I cannot say enough about the quality of work Dylan's team performs. Additionally I replaced 3 old zone valves with Honeywell electronic valves. Not only did his team replace the valves, he put shutoff valves around each zone to eliminate the need to purge the system if I ever had a problem in the future. In all the years that I have used Great White, I have never had a need for a return call. I use Great White Mechanical for all of my HVEC needs and service. I highly recommend them.

I bought a promo from Angie’s List for an annual AC and furnace maintenance service with Great White Mechanical. Both the field crew Chris who did the Spring maintenance and Mike the Fall maintenance were great, came on time and very professional and knowledgeable. However I cannot say the same for the office sales staff Jeff Miller. I had emailed and texted him about my interest in a humifier installation. He does not respond to my email or text messages. I had posted a message on their website, and the owner did not care to respond/comment. The sales personnel at Great White is a total flop compared to the professionalism of their field crew.

Excellent! My furnace was malfunctioning and they found that the carbon monoxide levels were extremely high. They saved my family. Within a day, I received an estimate to replace the entire furnace. Pricing was very fair and the replacement was done immediately. The office staff was very professional and the technicians were outstanding. Heat has been restored and I’m sure I will have many years of uninterrupted service. You are doing yourself an injustice by not calling Great White Mechanical.

I called and set up for the next day and they came out on time and got to work, Mike our service tech, was very good and new what to do, tested everything and came up with the solution by replacing 2 Run Capacitors, we were very pleased and will have them coming back for service each year. We thought we were going to get stuck with buying a new unit for around 5000.00 and didn't have to, because of the knowledge . Thank You!

There was no charge for the estimate. The estimate part was fine but there was no follow up like to try to schedule. I ended up using someone else. The estimate part was very responsive but then I had no contact with them after. I tried calling a couple of times and never heard back. I would use them again for an estimate.
