Contracted on a "Short Sale" home in August 2009, didn't close until Jan 2010. Incredible amounts of misinformation from the seller's agent, the entire process was a nightmare and we would have backed out of the deal if it weren't for our agent, Maria. Originally seller's agent swore it was NOT a short sale and they could close in 60 days or less; then we found out it was a short sale and closing dates came and went at least 7 times. The seller's agreed to pay my rate lock extension + fix a few major things the inspector found that were in the listing as working but it was beyond frustrating. Maria kept in almost daily contact with the seller's agent and kept my attorney up to date on new developments. She spent countless hours trying to get the sale to closing while sending us other listings when we thought we may have to back out of the contract because the process just stalled at the seller's end time after time. She was with us 100% of the way. I have dealt with other agencies/agents who didn't put forth any effort at all to find us a home because we were not buying a million $ one but Maria treated us as if we were buying an estate! She only works part-time but has done more work finding us a home and helping us through the buying process than any full-time agent ever has. She is amazing in comparison to the dozens of other agents we have gone through with other agencies (not Coldwell). Just joined Angie's List less than a month ago and want anyone looking for a really super buyer's agent to know about Maria. Coldwell in general seems to be far superior to any other Real Estate agency, my mortgage is from Coldwell also because they were so easy to work with and very cooperative with extensions, etc. I worked with an agent in Morris county when we thought of moving to that area and he was awesome too so I think Coldwell screens their agents better than other agencies. The mortgage process was the easiest part, that should tell you what a nightmare the transaction was right up to the day it closed.
Description of Work: Maria was our "Buyer's Agent" and sent us new listings as they came onto the market and showed us countless homes over the past 2 years until we found the one we wanted. We didn't spend anything as the buyer, all commissions were paid by the seller so that field is not applicable.
