Jon and Martin were on time every day and worked consistently. The demolition was done as quickly and with the least amount of dust and dirt. They cleaned the area they were working in every day. During the work, they made suggestions and explained why the suggestion was made. They treated my house like their house. I was so pleased with how the project went that I have given them some other projects which I need to have done either this year or next.
Description of Work: Installer completely demolished my bathroom back to the studs and then rebuilt it. My house is over 60 years old so the plumbing had to be reworked also. My bathroom is small and to get more space out of my room, Jon changed the 2 x 4s to 2 x 2s. He removed the old radiator and replaced it with radiant floor heat. Jon took into consideration my requests and then worked it into the plan. I now have a beautiful new bathroom and no worries about plumbing failures.

The company rep showed up on time, and was friendly and professional, but did very quick measurements, and took almost no time to examine the state of my current cabinets. He spent the bulk of his time in my home (over 4 hours) showing me cabinet and countertop samples, and encouraging me to make choices about all of these items, giving the impression that we could not even begin to talk prices until I had completely designed my remodeled kitchen. I admit, I was taken in by his salesmanship, but a lot of what he was telling me seemed a little too good to be true, and I was concerned about the ways in which he glossed over my questions about addressing structural, as opposed to cosmetic, concerns I had about my existing cabinetry. Once we did get into pricing, I was shocked that the cabinets alone would cost over $5,000 (and this was after a $500 Home Depot discount as well as a $500 US Remodelers discount for signing a contract that same day). I would expect to spend that much on new -- if not necessarily top-of-the-line -- cabinets. The countertops were quoted at another $5,000, after "discount". The representative was also vague about the breakdown of pricing, and did not itemize anything. At the end of all of this, however, I did exactly what I knew I should not do, and allowed the representative to talk me into signing a contract that day (which I voided 2 days later). Overall, I was disappointed with the aggressive sales tactics, and felt taken advantage of. I was also able to further research the prices I was quoted online the next day, and realized that I had been talked into paying for features -- for example, a rounded countertop edge -- that I really didn't care much about, but which significantly increased the price I was quoted. However, because the rep did not show me how he was reaching the estimates he was giving me, this was not readily apparent. Finally, while I realize that this is secondhand information, I was also deeply concerned that I was unable to find any favorable reviews online for work this company has done (aside from their own website), and this was a factor in my decision to void the contract. To me, it is a red flag if such a large company doing so much work does not have better word-of-mouth.
Description of Work: I was solicited while shopping at Home Depot for a free, in-house estimate for cabinet refacing (work to be performed by US Remodelers) and new countertops.

I used US remodelers for a total kitchen remodel and refacing of my current cabinets. They subsequently subcontracted the job to The Home Depot in Defford, NJ. The work came with a 7 year warranty. A few years later one of the drawers fell out, I called US Remodelers to come out and fix the issue, they informed me that it would be a $75.00 service fee and there may be a $40.00 charge for fixing the issue depending on the complexity of the problem. I told the associate on the phone that I had a warranty, and then she informed me that this was how their warranty works. I was not interested in having to pay for something to be fixed under warranty. Since then 5 other drawers have fallen, 3 have been fixed by meand 2 are not useable. The laminate that was used to reface the cabinets have started pealing, molding is falling off, the ceramic tile was not installed correctly on the old linoleum so it is now crunching and cracking under foot. I am very disappointed my kitchen was 30 years old and I just wanted something nicer and newer looking, it looked better before I started. I have contacted Don Dolan of US Remodelers and Stephan Rayne of Home Depot filing complaints about the issue. They both have come out and taken pictures of the problem. The solution they offer me is patching up the poor workmanship. I am not interested in small patch jobs, I paid for a new kitchen and I received poor quality and want a new kitchen. I would like my full refund of $7151.00 because the entire job needs to be redone.
