Recommended repairs needed to chimney which I agreed to do and Repaired the chimney.Ask if all the work was satisfactory which I agreed was and gave me the bill for additional services. Left the resident clean. The service men were professional in the performance of there job.

 + -1 moreIt went well. There were two guys that worked together to do the job. They were nice and professional. I'm not really sure that the service they performed really even did anything. There was no evidence like "look at all this gunk and dust we pulled out". While it wasn't overly expensive, I'm really not sure it was worth the money.
Description of Work: They pull up in a van, which has some industrial vaccuum inside. They run a hose (through our opened window) in the house and attach to one of the air ducts from our central air system. Then they go around the whole house from room to room with an air hose from an air compressor, and blow into each register. Not exactly what I had envisioned prior to them coming, but I suppose that's what it is...

 + -1 moreThey came out to clean the ducts and had adjusted the thermostat before they left. My heat was working just fine before they came to my home. I have no been without heat since December 1st. I called them to explain the situation and see if they could come back to adjust or fix the thermostat/heater. They said they would not adjust or come out to fix the problem unless I paid the $99 service call plus the price to repair the heater/thermostat.

chimney sweep
 + -1 moreI was disappointed that my chimney could not be swept, but that is not NuAir's fault. They arrived on time, and after it was determined that they could not help out, they gave me a very high quote. I was a bit disappointed by this, but I guess the chimney sweep deal through Angie's list was too good to be true.
Description of Work: Purchased Angie's List deal to get Chimney swept. Unfortunately, the new house that I bought had a capped Chimney, and the service could not be performed. The service representative gave me a quote for how much it would cost to get the chimney re-lined, insulated, uncapped, and working that was very high. I received other quotes that are less than half the price of the quote provided by NuAir.

They had a tough time since my sister has 3 large dogs, and the duct cleaning had not been done in some time, but they managed without any issues. I highly recommend this service.

 + 0 moreThey did do the job but with duct cleaning you can only guess it was a good job. I thought the equipment looked like it was very old and needed to be replaced. I stayed with the workers while they did the work and they were polite.
Description of Work: The vents in my home were cleaned out. They performed the work on the first and second floors by snaking the equipment into each vents. This was the first time I used this company and I hired them because of rating on Angie's List and the special price offer.

 + -1 moreThe worker were very professional. They were on time.They check were they were going to run the equipment and ask if it was alright if they ran the equipment through the window. They made sure every thing was clean and check and recheck the vents.

They confirmed the appointment the day before and arrived on time. They were clean, fast, professional and knowledgeable. There was no additional upsell to deal with.  + -1 moreThe gentlemen arrive exactly on time and worked swiftly and efficiently. They checked the liner and cap and cleaned the fireplace and ash dump. There was absolutely no mess or ash anywhere when they were finished. Ours is a very old-fashioned fireplace, and unfortunately, when they reconnected the damper lever, it didn't reconnect properly. I called Nu-Aire and they returned promptly (and with a smile) to fix it. I will definitely use them again next year.

 + -1 moresee the above statements................bottom line it did not go well at all!
Description of Work: I am very disappointed with this company and would not recommend. Two people show up (on time I will give them that) sloppily dressed did not introduce themselves just started lugging their equipment in..started working without any explanation on what they were doing. one guy takes it upon himself to go up into my master bedroom with out permission. I was talking with the other guy and next thing i hear was furniture being moved in my bedroom! Also, when i made the appointment they did not tell me to move everything away from all the ducts. this was my first time having my ducts done (I told the scheduler that too). It would have been helpful to know that they needed to reach them. I thought they would go from the furnace out but they didn't. the taped on the ducts with a screw driver and with a pressure hose they blew on the ducts while the big sucking machine supposedly cleaned out the ducts (no canister of dirt was visible and when asked if i could see where the dirt went he laughed and said we don't do that it goes in a big can with everyone else s dirt). I have no idea if it worked because they did not explain anything and no way of knowing.They said they used a sweeper machine but at no time did they think enough to explain the process. They could tell i was anxious and not happy with them (the guy just going into my master bedroom without permission really upset me... ) Bottom line is I went with this company because I was sent an email with Angie's recommendation, I will never do that again, they were terrible and no way would i want them in my house again. Oh yes they left one of the vents laying on the floor......and if my wife didn't catch it they left one of their tools behind.

 + -1 moreWe purchased a Big Deal from Angie's List for air duct cleaning for $179. I believe it was 1/2 off. Nu~Air returned my call quickly and we set up an appointment to clean our air ducts. We have lived in our house for 5 years and didn't know what the state of the ductwork was. Given the cost we thought we get them cleaned. Based on what I saw being sucked out--a lot of dust clumps--it was worth having the ducts cleaned. While on site we discuss having our dryer vent cleaned. They were able to do that as well which was good because the duct was clogged and could have been a fire hazard. The dryer vent cleaning was approximately $75.
Description of Work: 1) HVAC ductwork was cleaned. 2) Dryer vents were cleaned.

 + -1 moreThey were supposed to use a brush to clean the vents, but it broke when they had just about started. They never got another and just continued saying that it wasn't necessary to use the brush. That was supposed to be part of the deal. I am not sure the job was thorough. I wasn't home and the person at home at the time didn't ask them to wait and get another brush. I feel that they should have honored the deal by waiting for another brush to clean out the vents.
Description of Work: they responded quickly to my call and told me everything they would do when they came out. This included cleaning, vacuuming and brushing out all the vents and returns, using a brush to make sure the vents were completely cleaned out. They didn't close off the other vents and were finished quickly. Our vents hadn't been cleaned for years and I know they were very dirty. frankly the fact that they minimized the use of the brush when it broke and they didn't cover any of the vents makes me wonder what is left inside.
