We're family- owned and operated, Jack Joyce has lived in the area his whole life and has been involved in the mechanical trades all the while. He is a part of your local community and is always here to help. Jack never uses sub-contractors all the work is performed by Jack himself or one of his trusted family members.
Jack's wife handles the office, and if she does not pick up when you call, she will get back to you usually within a few hours. She sets up an appointment for Jack to come out and give an estimate. He usually does estimates in the evening or on Sundays. He comes out, talks and measures, and then will email the estimate within a few days. At that point, you can call the office to let him know if you want the work done by him. His wife will schedule you at that point. If you are picking out appliances, Jack will give you the option of having him pick them up when the job is ready to begin. We had him pick up the appliances, which worked well so that the stove and the cabinet did not sit in our kitchen for days. Jack and his crew arrived both times within a half hour of the start time, and worked hard all day, breaking only for lunch. They cleaned up after they were finished each day.
Description of Work: We have used Jack twice. This year, we asked Jack to install a railing on our front porch. We had to wait longer longer this time for him to do the job (2 months), as his business has grown, but the work was done in 5 hours, and the railing is beautiful. The cost (1,300.00) was very reasonable and the railing is thick and sturdy, and matches the color on the house. In 2010, he remodeled our kitchen, adding a pantry cabinet, a new stove, and a new countertop, and completed the work in 2 days. He had 2 helpers, and all three of the men worked hard and were professional. They cleaned up nicely when the work was done. The price was good for the work done. We even asked while they were there to hang a ceiling fan in the kitchen, and he did not charge us extra for that work.

The man from them was good. He was very friendly. He was very good on pricing and knew what he was doing.
Description of Work: Jack Of All Trades Handyman Services LLC did some general handyman stuff that I could not do because it hurt my back. He did about 10 different jobs. He did help with roofing, etc.
Description of Work: I was interested in getting my bathroom and possibly one other remodeled. I was given three estimates from three different companies. Jack was the most experienced, and most reasonable as well. He was prompt answering my calls and was very personable. His wife also takes calls for him and she was just as nice and professional. I did not have the work done; however, because of an amateur mistake on my part. I am a new homeowner and thought that I would be able to get a home equity loan because of my exceptional credit. This was not the case, however, since the housing market is so bad right now. Unfortunately, I had already booked Jack. I had to let them know that I can't have the work done right now. They were so understanding. I WILL DEFINITELY call them as soon as I am able to finance this project.

My wife and I interviewed 4 contractors and we realized early on that Jack was several steps above the rest. From the the way he talked about the project to the level of detail in his quote, we immediately knew we were in the right hands. Working with Jack, Keith and Chris could not have gone any better. Jack was here early every day and often still working when we got home. In the month or so that he was working in our house, we never had to worry about who was coming to do the work or when they were coming. Jack is a true craftsmen who not only make sure the job is done, but its done right. He really takes the time to think of all the details to make your space not only looks better, but is more functional as well. The total cost of the remodel included construction materials as well, making the overall cost fit within a tight budget. The quality of his work is second to none and we will surely hire Jack again. He truly exceeded our expectations and made our dream kitchen a reality.
Description of Work: Jack completely gutted our kitchen. This included replacing all of the old drywall and flooring down to the beams. He installed new plumbing, including a line for a dishwasher. He also moved the gas line for the stove. Installed recessed and under cabinet lighting, new tile flooring, cabinets and entry doors.

He is a handy man and he is very good. He wants to come out for bigger jobs. He said to let them accumulate and then call me. I had a couple couple of small jobs. I called him and he said to have a couple and we will do them all at once. He doesn't want to come for a small job. That was my opinion. He was very good when he came. He came when he said. He was very knowledgable and he explained everything. His way of doing it worked. He got it picked it up, put it in and stood on it and smashed it in there. It stayed forever more. I live near an open field so he came and took out an old window air conditioner out of my bedroom. He covered it and made it solid. He did a good job with that. He wasn't that expensive. He did a couple of things and I though he was reasonable. I would use him again.
Description of Work: I used Jack Of All Trades Handyman Services to replace a stone that was loosed and broke.
We were extremely pleased with the professionalism and quality of the work performed.
Description of Work: We had a number of small jobs including replacing a kitchen faucet, re-grouting bathroom floor and shower, repairing screens, painting.
Jack and his helper Keith were wonderful. Jack looked at the job (1) and recommended we have the walls sheetrocked and not attempt to repair the old walls, as they most likely would not be totally smooth when completed. He recommended the brand of paint for us to choose a color and finish from, and gave us a choice of two baseboard moldings to either have painted or stained (our choice). After looking at the front of our house (2), he noticed cracks and said that having brickpointing (repairs) done for the effected areas probably would resolve the leak. He had a person who has experience brickpointing do work for him when needed. Jack said the entire job would take about two weeks. When we informed him that we were ready to go, we were put in the schedule (one month wait) and advised to empty the room of furniture. Since I would be in and our of the house during the day, I offered to give him a key to the house so they would not have to wait for me to return from bringing my son to school or stopping when I had to pick him up from school in the afternoon. They took down the shelves on the walls and removed the closet doors. Each day of the job, Keith and/or Jack were at my house by the time I returned home. If something had to dry, they left by 1:30 or 2, but stayed till 4 or 5 if curing was not an issue. Every day they cleaned up the room and kept the dust level through the rest of the house at a minimum (they usually had the bedroom door shut). Jack kept me apprised throughout the process of what was done, and was was to be done the next day or two. Jack informed me that since the ceiling and wall could not meet properly (paneling had actually gone above wall level into ceiling), he recommended that he would use simple crown molding and match finish to base molding. We agreed. One day the front of the house was brickpointed, and since there was extra cement, they fixed the my bottom front step at no extra charge. So far no leaks. The bedroom looks really good (we had molding painted, they painted and put up the two shelves I previously had on the walls to match the color to the molding. He changed the old sockets to new three prong sockets (his idea) and put the outlet covers on. Jack said he would come back and put up the new blinds were ordered when we get them. Jack began the job on a Tuesday and finished on a Saturday (2 weeks). The final price of the job did not not significantly change from the estimate. My husband and I were pleased with Jack's (and Keith's) work, and would hire him again for future projects.
Description of Work: We had two projects to be completed First, we wanted the paneling in our son's 10 x 12 foot room removed, plastered walls repaired or drywall installed. We then wanted the walls and ceiling painted and the room finished. The second project was repair of a leak coming into the living room during heavy rains. We have a brick-front row home. We had previously gotten an estimate from another handyman. He would have charged less for the first project to be done, but had no idea what could be causing the leak. Jack also had stated he personally would be doing all of the finishing work on the first project; the other company referred to his staff.

Jack looked at the door. The back door didn't need anything except that I wanted him to look at maybe covering it with aluminum on the exterior. He was unable to give me any kind of price about weather proofing the front door. He said he'd get back to me. He said he'd be open on Feb. 8. I never heard anything from him after that. At the appointment for the estimate he talked for more than an hour about his family. I finally called and told his wife that I'd never heard from him. About three or fours days later, she got back to me and said that Jack hadn't gotten around to finishing the estimate for weather proofing the front door, but it would be $2500 to replace the back door. I never asked him to replace the whole back door, just cover it. She said he'd get back to me about the weather proofing as soon as possible, but I still haven't heard anything. I finally just asked someone that I'd heard about at my hair dresser.

Yes, we contacted Member several times, even scheduled her a second time to visit her because the first time i went she was not responsive, even after calling a half hour ahead aty her request, before going to her home. When i arrived the second time, she ghad shown me quite a few projects she was looking to have done. but mainly weathersization of her front door, and capping of her rear door. After inspecting her rear door, i highly recommended she contact a pest control company, be cause her door frame had been severly damaged. i assumed a combination of both water and mainly termite damage. We We called to see if she had the pest control company out which she said she would do immediately. But she did not respond for more than a week and a half. I figured she was unavailable because of some personal issues she was having, Fran called her back the next day and asked about the termite inspection and how it went. She did not have it done and wanted a price for the front door weatherization. Fran had given her the verbal quote and told her that the rear door would cost about $2500.00, but we could not gaurantee we would not find more damage once the frame was removed. Again Fran urged her to have her house inspected for termites. I am sorry she was not happy with our service, but I I hope whomever she had to do the work did not just cover up the damage with a Band-aid repair and take advantage of her. Member was a very nice woman, but she did not want tho listen to my suggestion about her problem. And i did not want to get involved with a potential nightmare once the job was started. I try very hard to be fair and honest with all my customers and want to be sure that the work to be performed will be completed the right way the first, and not give a low price to get the work and then place them in a postion where the cost of the job escalates well beyond the initial quote..

I called Jack to have a small repair to my upstairs bedroom drywall that had leaked due to a faulty roof flashing. i explained that the job was very small before jack agreed to come out. That did not matter and stated he would be out to give me an estimate. He came out looked at the job, gave me an estimate which I thought more than fair and I agreed to have him do the work. We set up a date which would take two days. He arrived on the first date at the time promised and went about his work in a professional manner. The job was completed as promised on the second day and the ceiling looks great. Jack was very professional, but easy to talk to. He explained the work in detail and made suggestions. I am more than pleased with his work and will have him back in the summer for a much larger project of painting the interior of my home. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. TJM

It took maybe two weeks to get an appointment with him and then when he got here I was comfortable with him. I did not receive the quote, so I called to check on it and while I was talking to his wife who is the person I guess takes care of the booking. I mentioned insurance and that started a whole big thing and I never did receive the quote. They called me and said that unless I show them the insurance work up that I would need to find a new vendor or something like that. It was very odd, very odd indeed and I was not comfortable doing that. It was a combination where some of it was insurance work and some of it wasn’t and it was just very uncomfortable and very bizarre. I just felt that this isn’t going to work and it was truly embarrassing and the whole thing was just wrong, very uncomfortable. He appeared to be very nice, but then I went through that situation where they wanted the insurance documents. I will not have interaction with him in the future at all.

Member wanted me to submit an invoice to her mortgage company so she could recieve payment for work completed under an insurance claim. She had requested this prior to the beginning of the project start date. I explained to her i wanted to see the Insurance estimate so i could not be held accountable for submitting an invoice for work not completed in accordance with the claim, since the check would have to be issued in both Mrs. Dussinger and Jack of all Trades. I am very happy to help any potential client with their insurance claim, but i am not willing to commit fraud.. Please if you are a homeowner trying to have repairs performed on your home which are covered by an insurance claim, please be honest with me and let me know prior to scheduling an appointment to give you a quote. I will work very hard with you to make sure all the worked performed by Jack of all Trades will be inline with the insurance company and to help you recieve any cost not covered by the claim which is rightfully due to you. But pleae do not ask Jack of all Trades to submitt false documentation to your Insurance company or mortgage lien holder. Thank You, Jack Joyce, Owner Jack of all Trades Handyman Services LLC

Project went very well. Jack and his assistant were very professional. timely, resourceful, efficient and most importantly neat. Things were always cleaned up and back in order by the time I arrived home from work. Jack was good at offering recommendations and suggestions on how to do or add things I may not have thought of such as an additional electrical outlet in the room or adding corner shelves in the shower. Overall the room looks great.

I called Jack because of his high rating on Angie's list and because he was in my area. Jack did come out within a week to give me an estimate and look over the work that needed to be done. After that all I received was excuses from his wife that he was busy and he would get back to me. Well it's now Dec. 28, 2011 and I haven't heard back from either of them. I am truly disappointed because at our meeting he seemed to be an up-standing, dependable and reliable guy. At this point, I would never recommend him to anyone. With that being said... can anyone recommend a licensed contractor to do 8000 dollars worth of work?

The member did contact us for an estimate, however after visiting her home and disicussing making repairs to her home from work improperly completed by a friend, I came to find out she wanted me to submit and estimate to her so she could have repairs completed under an insurance claim. The prior repairs were paid for b this claim and she disputed the quality of the work with her insurance company. They told her to contact the contractor and file a dispute with them. But this contractor was not a registered contractor and she wanted me fix the damage caused by her contractor so she could get final payment from her insurance company and in the process make enough money form the claim to have me do other work in her home. The member seemed very nice but that still did not make it right for her to ask me to commit insurance fraud. She was given a verbal estimate and told that any additional money for the repairs not covered under the claim woul dhave to be paid by her, this was not what she wanted so we discontinued correspondence with her.

It went very well, from the contact to the estimates. The work was done in a timely manner; we were not inconvenienced without appliances, water or working space during the work period. We reviewed all work and, any issues were addressed. The invoice would then be sent after Fran confirmed that we were satisfied with everything..
Description of Work: Jack installed all new appliances in our kitchen: stovetop, hood, double oven, dishwasher, faucet, a tin backsplash and fixed and framed an adjoining area between the kitchen and dining room so that the granite counter top we put there was at the right height. He made a drawer to fill an area below the oven. We also had them replace a hot water heater, and run 2 electrical lines for future use. Jack and his workers were on time, clean, and did good work. Fran, who runs the Office, is communicative and organized We have more upgrading and remodeling to do in our house and have already planned to have Jack back in for those jobs. So far, the company has lived up to its name.

, Absolutely the best. I would only use Jack for all of my home repairs / remodel jobs. I am 100% confident he would always tell me the truth. Jack did more than what I hired him for. He really is a good person that cares. A previous contractor did a sloppy incomplete job in the bathroom. Jack and his crew fixed the problems. He saw it was a problem for me so he fixed it. thats what makes him a caring person. I hired him for the new kitchen job, which is beautiful. and the backsplash design is gorgeous. Its all the little things that Jack did, when he did not have too do any of them. that makes him the best contractor of all. His price was more than fair for the job.

I spent about $400 on that service. I liked that he was great and he did everything. I would say that he was totally honest and he told me that he was not the best person to do something, but said that there was somebody that could, which I really appreciated instead of him trying to do it and not doing a great job. He was prompt and I felt that his prices were totally reasonable and he was happy to do all those little things around the house. I just gave him the list and he worked his way through. He also went and bought whatever bits and pieces that were needed for the job. When I e-mailed his office, I got a really fast reply. The only downside was that one time he came with someone else to do some work and they patched a board in a floorboard and the color match was perhaps not perfect. It was good but not quite perfect and it is in a place that no one would see anyway. I also noticed that a stain they used, splashed a little bit on a white trim along on the floor. I am not sure if I would use him for anything where the appearance really mattered because that just seemed a little sloppy. I was just a bit surprised and it made me think that he was great at fixing stuff, but I was not sure if he was the right one for anything more decorative or where I am looking for someone to be a little more careful. I don’t know that if it was Tim who did that or the other guy and I did not notice it till after they had left. To be fair, I did not give him a chance to say don’t worry and that he would clean it right off and I haven’t dealt with it since. Overall for a general handyman and fixing stuff, he was great.

They did quite a bit of work in my house. They were absolutely wonderful. I am going to have him come back and do more work which is a good thing. They were fabulous. They were one of the best contractors that I have ever used. They did a lot of work for me. They did everything for me back in the spring of this year like painting and anything that you could name. We are going to have them come back and give me a quote for some more painting work. They can do anything that you need to be done. They refinished some of the walls in my living room and in my bedroom. It was nice to know that they were very polite and they cleaned up as they went along which was unusual. It was cleaner when they left than when they came in. They were wonderful and they had great work ethics. They did not even take lunch or anything but worked straight through. They were the cheapest pricewise. They were the most reasonable compared to any of the other prices that I got. No one will be disappointed after using them. I would be completely happy to recommend them to anyone. There was nothing that they could have improved but they went above and beyond with everything that they did. They were here on a timely basis and stayed till the work was done. I had a door for which I wanted to have new locks put in and they did that. They did a beautiful job and I could not have asked for anything more. It was a pleasure to have them in my house. I would absolutely continue to use their services in the future.
