Medford Heating And Air came right out and fixed it the same day- Monday. I don't know what a fair price is for this repair so can't answer that. The service man and everyone there was courteous, efficient and professional.

Had a conversation with Marv who was very upfront and honest saying that what I was looking to do was impractical and wouldn't work well in the space. He suggested a few options, even talking with me about a couple that weren't services that they offered. No pressure to do anything and I appreciated the ability to bounce some ideas off of him.

I spoke on the phone with Marv on Friday 8/19/16 about an issue we were having with our air conditioner. He said they were very busy and didn't have time to look at it right away but he would call the following week to set up a time for them to come out to do an estimate. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday came and went but he never called. Wanting to support a local business, I decided to give them another chance and called on Thursday 8/25/16. Marv's overall attitude was poor and not helpful at all. He said he would try to squeeze me in the following day at 3:00 but I was already fairly certain things wouldn't come together after our brief conversation. At 2:00 the following day he called and said, "Sorry, today's not looking too good, we won't be able to come out." This company didn't seem to want our business after two attempts to get them out for an estimate and it took them a week to decide they couldn't help us. Had we been happy with their service we would have been loyal customers. We found another local HVAC professional instead who didn't give us the runaround.

They came on time and added 2 lbs of freon. They literally connected the the freon connectors to the the A/C unit and the freon bottle. It took about 20 minutes. I was then given a price of $393! When I asked about the breakdown they said they charge $90 per pound! The going rate on EBAY is between $10 to $20 per pound. Fine, you can even double that so they can make a profit. Even when you add 90x2 = 180, where is the other $200? for 20 minutes work? Apparently it's their going rate. After a number of phone calls I finally got them down to $200. Still a bit high, but I didn't want to deal with it anymore. I would not use this company again. Companies need to be clear upfront to all the costs involved and what their going rate is. My mistake for not asking for a detailed breakdown prior to work performed. I figured the Angie's list spacial would have more than covered all the work, lesson learned.

That went well. They did a good job. They sent one worker, who was very punctual. It took them about 30 minutes to do the work.

appointment was easy to schedule. the technician arrived at the beginning of the service window. i have to assume he did the job as stated. No issues that I am aware of.

Medford Heating came on time, got right to work, finished in forty minutes. They gave me a free magnet with their phone number. I asked about emergency service and he explained how to reach them.

The provider was prompt, courteous, professional- cleaned my unit which had apparently never been cleaned. I moved into this home in July. He serviced the heater, cleaned it and put a new filter in. It is now ready for winter. I would definitely use this provider of services again and would recommend them to anyone considering them

Promply showed up at 8:30 AM and quickly cleaned and tested the system and was gone at 10:00am

I spent about $300 a gallon. They're responsive, they come when they say they're going to come, they do their job and they go. They don't leave a mess. Their customer service is fine.

The installation was very well done. The technician was knowledgeable, professional and did an excellent job. The only glitch in the whole thing was getting it scheduled and that can probably be attributed to the weather.

We were up charged on the cost of the install and didn't try to make it convenient for appointment.

Originally we had purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for an Aprilaire whole-home humidifier for $375, but when making the arrangements with the service provider (Medford Heating and Air), we realized that this was for a model with a manual humidity control. We asked Medford if they could install the model with the automatic humidity control instead, since that would be a more desirable option (and we were willing to pay the difference in installation price). They said that they definitely could do that, but it would have to be done as a separate transaction with them directly for $450, and that we would need to cancel the Big Deal purchase from Angie's List for the manually controlled humidifier. This worked out very well, and it was easy to cancel the Big Deal with Angie's List. After some back-and-forth with Medford, we got on their schedule to have the humidifier installed within 2 weeks. The installers showed up on time, performed the work to our satisfaction, cleaned up after themselves, and gave us a tour of the features of the humidifier. They also looked over our HVAC system, which has never had any sort of maintenance since we moved in 8 years ago, and told us that everything looks good - that was a nice side benefit, and we appreciated that they did not try to upsell us on unnecessary work. I would definitely recommend Medford, and will use them in the future for other HVAC work.

We purchased the deal from Angie?s List on January 13, 2014. Medford Heating e-mailed us on January 14 saying they would get back to us within two weeks to schedule installation due to winter backlog. They contacted us by e-mail again on Feb. 7, three and a half weeks later, to schedule installation for the following Tuesday, February 11 th. The Service Technician arrived about 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 11. He spent a considerable amount of time looking for copper piping in order to hook up the humidifier. Since we have a new home that is energy star rated, we do not have any copper piping. Once the service tech realized this, he had to call to have another technician come out and bring copper tubing. This cost another $125.00. The Service Tech did an excellent job with installation once he had the materials he needed. He was friendly, professional, and cleaned up after himself. He did a good and thorough job of explaining what he did and demonstrating how to change the filter. My only recommendation is that Medford Heating communicate the information that copper tubing is required for whole house humidifier installation so there are no surprise costs at the time of installation and so that the technician has everything needed to do the installation when he comes out.

Overall, it was fine. It was a good price. The main technician who arrived to install it was very professional and very friendly and nice. They did a good job installing the humidifier. They probably should have put in the Angie's List ad that you need to have a copper piping in order to attach the whole house humidifier. That increased the price of another $125. The Angie's List price was $375 which made it $500. That was still a little under what we had priced out at a couple of other places. It was still a good deal. We were expecting that it would be able to be installed for $375. We're not expecting the additional charge. We didn't know that it could even take place. When they said that they could install it, we thought that that was inclusive of everything and nothing else was needed. If they put a little asterisk in their ad or their deal that said that we needed to have a copper tubing. If not, it would be an additional $125 charge. That way, the consumer would be aware right from the start. They were a little late from the time they said they would arrive. It did take them a couple of weeks to get back to us and setup an appointment. The winter weather had a lot to do with that.

The technicians tried very hard to get the humidifier to fit. I appreciated that. They were very professional and kind. The product just did not fit.
