Sonny was very cordial, easy to talk to, and has a no B.S. attitude. Did not try to up sell me anything and listened to what I wanted. He also took care of the permit for cutting trees in my borough. Price was fair for the work. Highly recommended.

They seem to know their stuff. They responded promptly and they were the first one to give me a quote which means a lot to me because it showed me that they want the job. It was a good quote so I went with them. They do good work and got it done. They ground the stump and took everything away all in about 6-7 hours. It was pretty impressive.

Excellent service! Very professional and courteous! Even called me "sir". Job was done quickly and efficiently. Real stand-up guys. Sonny and Uncle Frank were great! Kate was very patient over the phone. Thank you. I wish you took credit card payments though.

At first everything was fine. Sonny came out and gave me the estimate and we agreed on a price. I asked that he leave some of the branches they would be cutting down behind for me to cut up into small sections so I can use for firewood. He said no problem he would take care of it. They came and did the job but left no firewood left behind. Clearly there was no communication because the workers chipped all the firewood. I was promised he would bring some wood from another job and bring to my house. That promise was made when Sonny showed up unannounced at my front door looking to get paid. That was my first mistake, paying the bill. As we inspecting the job together, I realized a tree and a large branch that were supposed to be removed were missed. He promised they would come back when a crew was nearby and they would handle it. He marked the trees they missed with orange spray paint. I can still see the paint a year later. I called several times inquiring about when they would come back. A woman in the office said she would talk to Sonny and they would make sure it got done. I called like three times, then gave up. A few months later, I actually ran into Sonny in a parking lot. He had the uh oh look on his face as he saw me approaching his car. He knew exactly who I was and what I wanted. He knew he owed me a few trees and promised me to my face that someone would come out before the end of that week. That never happened either. Finally, just this past week, First Class, was not only in my neighborhood, they were working on my next door neighbors house. Really???? I called and left a message on their voicemail asking if they could please call me back and take care of this once and for all, considering they were already practically at my house. Do you think I received a phone call back? Take a guess? NO! That was the final straw. I am a patient person and a business owner myself, so I realize call backs are a pain in the butt, but I also know that they need to be dealt with. Sorry Sonny, but you failed on this one. You can't post a reply claiming that any of this is untrue. Big job or small, you should always treat your customers with respect. You didn't in this case. I would recommend to anyone out there to avoid using Sonny's First Class Tree Service. They don't care about following through on a job after they've been paid. And how lazy, the crew was literally standing 20 feet from my yard. Its unacceptable to allow a couple little trees to fester into so much aggravation. You turned a perfectly happy customer into someone who will be a detractor to your business for a long time. And for what, something that would have taken your crew 20 minutes to do. UPDATE: 11/19/14 After posting this review here, (I can only assume this because I was not called or notified), a crew was dispatched to my house. The only reason I know this is because they showed up at 3pm ish and blocked my whole street with their trucks and the school bus could not get down the street. The school literally had to call my wife to inform her the bus could not get to the stop. My kids grandfather, who was waiting to pick them up, had to deal with this situation. Although I appreciate the reactiveness to my post, a phone call would have been nice to let me know you are coming. And after all that, you only removed one of the two issues we had. The big branch over my driveway, which was the bigger of the two concerns, is still there. So I would appreciate it if you could call me and arrange another time to resolve the issue.

The team at First Class Tree Service were total professionals. They arrived at the appointed time and completed all 4 trees and stumps in about 2 hours. When they were done there was no sign that the trees had ever been there and no sign that they had been there either. They totally cleaned up afterwards.

I would recommend First Class to anyone that needs tree service.

Sonny was a no show for our first appointment...not even a call. A few days later, "office" said that he could not come due to it drizzling outside, not that I noticed. Gave him a second chance with another appointment..no apology, just "sorry I missed you the other day." REALLY?! Wow, I had to contain my laughter. Lame and unprofessional to stand up a potential customer without any apology, even when given some benefit of the doubt. Business must be booming, but not because of me.

SONNY SAVED THE DAY, to say the least. Another tree company bailed last minute, and sod installation was scheduled for Monday. Had to remove a tall walnut tree, and surrounding trees' limbs. I called Sonny early Friday afternoon when he was down the shore. Sonny came home by 6pm that night, matched the competitor's price, and arrived promptly Saturday morning. He also agreed to take care of a dead hollow tree that stood on a deserted lot for a more than reasonable price. I couldn't say no to his offer. Instead of taking advantage of my desperation, he gave me a better quote to remove the dead tree compared to any other competitor. Most importantly, on a hot and humid day, his crew HUSTLED, removing all debris and limbs requested. Frank, Sonny's uncle, was a great guy. Professional and extremely efficient company. Thank you

I had called this tree service for an estimate based on the many favorable reviews in Angie's list. When I spoke to the office on the phone, I clearly indicated the tree service to be performed (trimming a large Sycamore tree) and the address. The estimate was scheduled for a few days later. After having rearranged my schedule for a Sunday afternoon and waiting for some time the contractor never showed up. No phone call, nothing. I received a call from the contractor the following evening; he explained that it basically wasn't worth the trouble to drive to my location for a relatively small job. I don't have a problem if the company doesn't want the job; what irritates me is that they had 2 full days to make a phone call and cancel the estimate. Instead, I end up wasting a perfectly fine Sunday afternoon. This is not a professional way to do business.

When he lined the street with his equipment, I said to myself, herec is a guy who doesn't mess around. The professionalism was thorough and area cleaned up and gone in less than an hour.

Had five trees and stumps removed...Sonny was nice, professional and on time. He came to to give a quote to remove 3 trees and noticed that I had 2 more dying trees very close to me house. He gave a quote that we we'll less that the others. We set a date to do the removal, they called the night before and removed the trees and stumps as promised. I couldn't even tell they were here, very clean and considerate of my property (and my neighbors - 3 trees were on my property line). They dropped off the bill about a week later. There were no surprises. Great service. I recommend them to all that ask and I would use them again.

We have used other services in the past but decided to try them out even though they were a few dollars more than others. They arrived with very nice equipment and were neat, fast and efficient.They cleaned up the area much better than expected. We Will certainly use them in the future. A+

Very responsive in comparison to other companies we reached out to. Sonny came out for free estimate and was professional and friendly. They were the best price by several hundred. They were able to work around our vacation schedule and start the job right afterwards. Showed up as scheduled and Sonny was there to go over the details again. Was able to add another tree to the job morning of with no hassle. Job was done quickly and professionally. Cleanup was good afterwards. My fence had prevented them from getting 100% of the stump for a couple trees but they have offered to come back out when the fence is removed in a couple of weeks. Already have recommended them to others.

From start to finish everything went as expected. Cant say enough possitive comments about this company. Will definitely use them again and refer to anyone looking for this type of service.

They wanted to cut down 3 of 4 trees. I expressed concern for maintaining shade for a few more years as these a 100 year old oaks. All I requested was to prune and I would clean and remove. They said it was not possible and they would have to remove fencing and bring in a lift. This was far more than I wanted, but that was the deal. I felt being talked down to. I am reasonably knowledgeable and have removed trees in a previous location. Since I am no longer physically able to do such work, I felt as though I was given a number and plan that was simply "take-it-or-leave-it".

I needed a very large tree removed from the side of my house and had been told by several other tree removal firms that this was going to be a difficult and costly job. The prices quoted by the other firms were so high that I decided to try several other firms. I checked Angie's then called and left messages for First Class Tree Service, and one other company. Within 30 minutes the owner of First Class called me back and we discussed the job. He arrived at my home within an hour, (as promised), to take a first-hand look at my tree. After looking at the access points to the tree he told me that his equipment, (a very large bucket truck), would be able to get close enough to access the tree without compromising the surrounding landscaping. The price for removal of the tree was so good (and, so much less than the other tree removal firms) that I also had several other trees trimmed and a large pile of tree cuttings chipped and removed from the property. I highly recommend this firm not just for the great price, but for their skills and professionalism. The owner was onsite through the entire removal process, supervising all aspects of the job. Since they had to cross my front lawn to get to the side of the house they first laid plywood sheets down to prevent any damage to the lawn. At the conclusion of the job I was also amazed that there wasn't a single twig left behind. I will be calling them very soon to have four more trees removed.

We had an excellent experience with this company. My husband called them to come out to give an estimate after another company failed to show up. Someone from First Class arrived the same day, and within a week a crew of 3 guys came out and took care of the trees. Later on, someone came out to remove the stumps. We definitely would use them again.

We really couldn't have asked for a better experience. We called First Class just as we heard that a hurricane was predicted to make landfall in our area within 48 hours. They came out immediately for an estimate. They took their time walking around our property with my husband, making a few recommendations regarding overhanging limbs. They showed up to get the work done the next day. A team of five men completed the work in record time, using great modern equipment. One fellow actually had to scale an extremely large oak in order to remove the limbs. I drove up to our house just in time to see him way above our roof peak. They cleaned up after themselves and left the oak limbs for us to split as we requested....All this with an advancing hurricane. We believe their price was very fair.

Sonny and his crew arrived on time and completed the work in a very professional and timely manner. We've used their service on a number of occassions. Each time has been an outstanding experience.

We had a number of trees/limbs/stumps we needed removed and they did a great job. Arrived on time, didn't rip up the grass (another tree service did this in the past), and he called just to follow up.

They have done several things and they were good. One tree was about 35 footer and 2 feet diameter. They were very efficient. They came in and knocked these trees out. They came with pretty good size of crew. They knocked out the large tree out in no time flat and it was amazing. They took around 3-4 hours to do the work. They were very good plus they came with a big machine and pulled those huge pieces of trees. I could not lift these things as they were too big. They probably weigh 300 pounds each. I think their price was little high. They were in an out very quickly. They were here on time.

Excellent. They did exactly as promised and they were careful not to damage anything near the tree.
