Mr. Handyman of N Monmouth and E Middlesex Counties

Couldn't be more pleased. I emailed Mr. Handyman after trying three others. Owner (Steve) called to scope out work in early AM the next day (before he left for jury duty.) His phone estimate was fair and accurate. Scheduling was great, with confirmation and good follow up by support staff. Our tech, Craig was early for appt. He was knowledgeable and personable. He coordinated with Steve to get the trim measured, bent and installed in short order. He could have charged me for a whole new role of beige aluminum, but found a piece in his shop that worked great and saved me money. Craig's work was thorough, timely, professional and walked me through every step of the projects. He even found a problem that had gone undetected and fixed it. Thanks Guys! and thanks Angie's List!

I spoke with several people from the company. All were very responsive and knowledgable. I had George assigned to my job and he was right on time and did a top notch job. I would definitely hire again.

Chris is amazing and the responsiveness of that entire office has made them a permanent fixture in my house management budget. I am glad I called and now swear by Mr. Handyman. They are on time, they come with the small random parts you wouldn't know how to buy. If you need things in advance they talk you through it and how to purchase it. Very respectful, clean, and trustworthy.

What a pleasant experience! Rob was able to do the work the day I inquired about an appointment. He arrived even before he had said he would be at my house. He installed the shutters without any problems and in a very timely manner Very courteous, very professional.

I spoke to Steve a few weeks ago to set-up my appointment. He was very friendly and set me up with the next available day that worked for both of us. The day before I received a call from Gina to confirm the appointment and confirmed who would be coming. George was my technician and he arrived on time and immediately got to work. He was friendly, personable and very professional. Completed the work in about 90 minutes, which is what I was originally quoted. We have worked with other handymen in the past but this experience by far was the most professional. 100% recommend and will use in the future.

Called the company to inquire about services. Person who answered the phone was knowledgeable and patient. After setting up the appointment, received email confirming appointment. Received a phone call the day before service to confirm. Received a phone call from tech informing me of arrival time. Tech was also courteous, patient and knowledgeable. Work was done in a timely manner and completely to my satisfaction. Tech also made excellent suggestions regarding a water leak that might be occurring. Trash was bagged and left for disposal. Would most certainly do business with this company again. Professionalism such as this much appreciated.

They did good work. They supplied all the materials. They picked up the sodding material and laid it out. They fixed the edging. They brought the white stone. It actually was like a day and a half job.

The best thing about this provide was the promptness about returning calls and scheduling the estimate visit. The worst thing was the estimate price. Based on the reviews I have read on Angie's list, I am confident that this provider has great quality of work. But my main concern is about price, as explained below. When the provider came to our house to provide an estimate, we were given a rough estimate of $2800, but were told to wait for the final estimate. But when the final estimate came, it was for $5000. That's almost 2x increase. We still decided to submit the estimate to our insurance company and they literally laughed us off. This is because the estimate had close to 40 hours of labor, including 10 hours for tear down of the old overhang. The insurance rep said that there is no way tear down of an old overhang should take 10 hours. I was then referred to another company by the insurance, who gave me an estimate of $1800, including labor of 18 hours. While I can understand that this provider might have done work more diligently and hence the additional labor hours, the reason I am writing this review is due to the time for tear down: The other company came yesterday and it took them a total of 3 hours (2 men x 1.5 hours) of labor to complete the tear down of the old overhang. That's a difference of 7 hours! While I enjoyed my interactions with this provider, I cannot believe such a big difference in labor estimate for tear down. Despite my liking for this provider, I would unfortunately not be recommending them to others because of this reason.

The experience was excellent from start to finish. I had lost two sections of fence in a windstorm. I found Mr. Handyman through Angie's list. I filled out the online service request Thursday, April7th at night. I received an email that someone would contact me when they opened. Someone contacted me Friday morning and asked me to describe what we needed done and asked for pictures. They put me on the schedule for the next day at 8:00 a.m. The service technician Ed arrived on time and in uniform. I showed him the fallen section of fence and the section where the fence was leaning. He explained what he was going to do and got right to work. After he fixed the section of fence I had him put up the two decorative shutters. He was extremely polite, courteous and best of all neat with his work. I definitely use them again in the future.

Went exactly as they said it would, they were extremely professional, confirmed the day before, showed up on time, did the job exactly to what I wanted and the price was reasonable.

When he came out and did the handyman service, he replaced a light fixture and hung a mirror on my staircase. He also changed a smoke detector and spent an hour at the store. He then couldn't provide a receipt for the smoke detector replacement so that made me believe that he just got it out of his car. The product wasn't even in a box. I am thinking that he just took it out of his truck and charged me for that hour of work. The power washing he said would cost 500 at first but the guy who came out spent most of the time out by his car smoking and charging me hourly. The manager had to come out to help resolve the situation and all he did was take 320 off my power washing. I paid what I felt was right for the job.

WORKED QUICKLY AND DID A GREAT JOB

They were excellent. They were great. They showed up early. They were efficient. They didn't drag their time. What they fixed held up. They did three jobs for me. They did it within a relatively short period of time.

We submitted the form and pictures on the Mr. Handyman website and received a call the following day to set up an appointment. On the day of the appointment Craig called about 45 minutes before he arrived to let us know he was coming. He was professional, personable, and handled our list of tasks easily and efficiently. We were very happy with the service provided by Craig/Mr. Handyman. Everything went smoothly and we will definitely be calling Mr. Handyman again.

Ed was very professional. He was right on the dot with his estimate and he charged me very accurately. I am extreamly pleased with the quality of work. I would certainly keep him in my records so I can use him any time I need. It would have taken me many more hours to do this job myself and also it is not easy to stay for 2+ hours in the attic. Great Job, ED!!!

I've used this company 6 times and not only have they done a great job each time, but the repair guys and office staff could not be nicer. They go out of their way to help and work around your schedule. I was originally nervous about using a handyman service, instead of local specialist, but these guys are true professionals and not only do great work, but with expert skills.

We contacted Mr. Handyman based on their excellent reviews on Angie?s List. We are pleased to say that Mr. Handyman more than lived up to those reviews! Our handyman, George, arrived at our home to install a heavy glass, frameless shower door. After introducing himself, the first thing that George did was place a set of coverings on his work-shoes, showing respect for our home. George was also courteous, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, meticulous and did an outstanding job installing our shower door?it was done perfectly. We then asked George about some additional work that needed to be done and he stated that he could do it now if we wanted. We were pleasantly surprised to hear that and just like our shower door, George did an outstanding job. We highly recommend Mr. Handyman (especially George) and without a doubt, we will be using them again.
