Thomas Belardo Roofing

Thomas Belardo did our roof 8 years ago. Within those 8 years we had a storm that blew our shed roof off the bulding. Mr. Belardo came to our house to give us an estimate on fixing the roof. In the meantime, a friend of my husband said he would do it for free. Well of course we accepted. Then a couple of years ago we had a leak in our kitchen. We called Mr. Belardo who suggested we call our friend to check it out that did our shed roof. Mr. Belardo was upset that he came out to the house to give an estimate then we didn't have him do the job. I said to him if you want to charge for an estimate and they are not free you should inform your customers. Now only 8 years after the roof was installed another issue has developed with the roof and we have called Mr. Belardo and he has not returned our calls.

Work was delayed a few days because of excessive rain the previous week. Once the old roofing was removed, options of working out revealed problem areas of existing construction were discussed with Belardo with no pushing of more expensive alternatives. Good ongoing communication through the project and no surprise on costs. Once the work started, the work was completed, including complete and thorough clean-up, within 2 days. Very pleased with the experience.

They came out and did the job but as soon as they left I saw that one of the pipes was damaged. I called the guy and asked him about it but he was reluctant to talk about it and didn't call me back like he said he would till many days later. He could have just called me back to make me feel better or come out to fix it, it was only a 6 dollar item. I won't ever use them again.

He did a nice job and he is a local guy. He actually subcontracts the work and has no workers of his own. He was professional and his price seemed reasonable.

The most straightforward, honest and down to earth company among the 4 that I solicited bids from. The only one of 4 roofers who understood how my roof was constructed and proposed the proper ventialtion strategy (which in turn saved me money). The quotations varied by as much as $8,000 for the same materials from the different roofers. They responded to my request for a proposal promptly and started the project within a week of me signing a contract. They completed the roof in two days with an additional day to install the new gutter system. The unknowns going into the job were repaired correctly and for a fair price. For example, they included 3 sheets of plywood in the original quote. As it turns out, they needed 5 sheets and also needed some 1-1/2" tonge and groove decking. They only charged me $110 for the extra 2 sheets of plywood and $390 for a 6' x 8' area of the 1-1/2" board-on-board that needed repair. Some other roofers wanted $168 per sheet of plywood! The job came out beautifully and they did a good job with the clean-up. I highly recommend them if you are in need of a roofer.
