Does not return calls on time. Shows up at home an hour or two before discussed and makes us feel like we decided on the wrong time and he is correct. Even after showing proof of times discussed, not really apologetic. Did not choose him to get our work done, approached twice.

It did not go well at all. Alex could not understand at first that I did not have a deadline for this project. He was upfront from the beginning of the call that he was booked up until July and pressed that he could not do it before. I just wanted a simple estimate. He then gave me an estimate of $20,000 dollars. I thanked him for the information and told him that I was not interested in his services.

Alex and his crew did an outstanding job remodeling my upstairs bathroom. Alex designed and implemented an amazing layout that looks beautiful and created a very spacious room. Alex and workers were always prompt, worked throughout the day, and always cleaned up before leaving. The final product is absolutely beautiful and is a testament to a professional who devotes his talent to meeting the needs of his customers.

Everything started off pretty well. Ran into a few issues regarding material. Our original plan was to have a shower module installed however our shower is weird size and we weren't able to get correct size module. Alex suggested tile and even picked out the colors and it looks great! I would definitely recommend Alex in the future.

My husband and I had our bathroom remodeled by Alex and his team. Our bathroom was original to the house and Alex and his team did a complete update including taking out a soaker tub and extending the shower. Since our remodel the work has been showing some flaws specifically in the ceiling, the color of the grout which appears that it was not mixed correctly, and a crack in our marble which was not repaired correctly. I know during our renovation there were a lot of changes going on with the company and this could be a reflection of that but we are not happy with the work being that we paid so much.

Overall we are very happy with the way our bathroom turned out. House Rx LLC workers knew exactly what to do + were very skillful + polite. I would have liked more input on design from them.

We needed to update and improve the guest and master bathrooms. Alex made it very easy by providing his artistic and decorative skills and working directly with the company that provided the new cabinetry. He also took the initiative to choose the guest bathroom tile, and the fixtures for both bathrooms.

The owner (Alex) is terrific. He gave me an estimate right away and offered to complete the job in a week's time. He helped me re-design our bathroom tile above the shower. He asked me if I wanted to go to the tile shop with him to match the existing tile and pick out a design and I did. He personally met me there, showed me different tile options, and later when it was installed, I loved the results. The day of the job, the owner and his employee came and started the three day job. They were prompt, polite, and took care not to get too much dirt or mud from outside (it was pouring rain) in my house. As they did the job, they also did a few little things to fix up my bathroom that weren't in the original contract, helping me get a functional bathroom again without nickeling and dime-ing me. I am so happy with the results. I know who I will hire again if I need a kitchen or bathroom remodel. Definitely them!

Appointment made for 1/8/15. He never showed up. He did not call to cancel or reschedule the appointment. He did not show up.

The remodel went great. We had a few items that came up during the work, such as how to deal with concealing the microwave vents, which Alex was able to create very nice solutions that really make the kitchen look beautiful. Also, we have an older home and the ceiling in the dining room was not square so the crown molding we were putting in would not have looked good; however, Alex came up with a decorative way to help this situation and we were very pleased. Last, we had a few issues with cabinets (one door didn't close properly, another had a crack, and another had an extra drill hole) and Alex replaced all the defective cabinetry. The way Alex dealt with these situations (the unexpected items) is a major reason we were satisfied with the final product. We had never done a remodel like this before and felt Alex gave a straightforward approach to providing us with options, including his opinion on how it would look based on what he's seen before. This was very helpful. In addition, his recommended designer was very knowledgable and really helped us make good decisions along the way. We love our new kitchen and upgraded dining and living rooms!

The guys from House Rx took the shower down to the studs, removed the tile floor, toilet and vanity, and they rebuilt the shower (it isn't a standard size, so it all had to be custom), and floor, patched and painted the walls, and installed a new toilet, vanity, medicine cabinet, and all hardware and plumbing. The tile work they did is gorgeous. And the bathroom looks like a totally different place than it did before. Then they cut out the damaged first floor ceiling, patched it, and repainted. You would NEVER know there had been a leak. It's amazing. They did this all in one week, with very minimal mess. Each day they would clean up and confine the materials to the garage. I was able to use the rest of my bedroom without having to worry about materials or construction debris. When they left, other than dust, there was no mess AT ALL. And Alex, Tom and Rick were all a pleasure to work with from the first to the last. They were polite and worked hard. Rick and Tom did the majority of the work at the house, but Alex (owner) was never out of touch. He checked in with me almost daily, and helped me every step of the way. He kept me calm (not an easy task!). I can't begin to describe what a great experience this was. I would hire House Rx again in a heartbeat, and would recommend them to anyone. If there had been a way to give them an A+, I would have.

The mechanics he sent in to do the work were the best. The fellows who did the rip out did it with minimum disruption to our routine at home and were meticulous in their clean-up each day. The tile work they did was exceptional in every way and the interfacing they did with the plasterboard and plaster walls was so skillful that you cannot see a trace of where these two elements merged. They ran into some unseen and unanticipated plumbing problems due to some corrosion of my water line, and made the complex repair with no additional charge. Similarly the electrician and carpenter who came in to do the finishing work, two terrific gentlemen, did their work carefully and skillfully. We are very pleased with the final product and family members who were over for Thanksgiving were equally impressed. I got Alex's name from Angie's list and I know mine is just one of over twenty-five (if I recall) positive reviews of his work. I'm more than happy to take my time to add to those

Both the age of the house and the fact it is our only full bath injected added challenges to the undertaking that Alex and Tom met without fail and with great attitude, flexibility and creativity. I think Alex's background as a Professional Engineer contributes to his ability to design around problems, including all the wrinkles that a 200 year old house throws at you. Nothing is square or level in this house, e.g. the entrance to the bathroom is a full 2+ inches lower than the front wall of the bath. Four of us live in the house, including two teenagers, so we knew we would need to spend some time in a hotel until we had a shower back up and running. Needless to say we wanted to keep that duration to a minimum. We had a functional shower within 3 days of the start of the job. To put the cost in perspective, this is a relatively large bathroom, with full tile wainscot and tub to ceiling tile bath surround. The work also included a new drywall ceiling to cover old texture paint we had regrettably used years before due to issues with the plaster ceiling. House RX met and exceeded our expectations every step of the way, and delivered the room we hoped for with no compromises, and their price was by far the lowest of the three proposals we got. I would recommend them without reservation, and have already done so more than once.

The first phase of the project consisted of the selection, measurement, acquisition and layout of the cabinetry. This was the measure twice and cut once phase. Alex worked closely with the kitchen design person of a third party company to ensure the fit and function of the appliances and cabinets. The second phase included the demolition and removal of the existing cabinetry and counter tops. This was the "Dirty Job" of the project and paved the way for the next phase. In the following phase, the dozens of crates of cabinetry were inspected by Alex and his team when they were delivered to our home. Alex and his team even helped the delivery crew unload the crates! The new lighting, replacement window, new cabinetry, appliances and counter top were installed as the third and final phase. In this phase the painting of the kitchen and surrounding areas was done. A scheduling snafu did not deter nor was it a show stopper for Alex and team. They worked tightly and seamlessly with the painter, flooring and window contractors. My trust of Alex and his team was implicit. Alex and I kept in close contact with phone calls and texts throughout the life cycle of the project. I highly recommend House Rx for any and all of your work.

Alex and his crew began the demolition of the existing deck to find that the deck was a double-layered deck - two layers of wood decking. In the double-layered deck discovery process they also found that the planks of each layer were installed at at almost perpendicular angles. Lastly, to make if more interesting they found the installation of the wood decking was over-engineered - more long screws than they had ever seen. Not to be deterred, Alex's crew dealt with the job in a "it is what it is" manner and accomplished the demolition. Alex noted that the underlying beams of the existing deck needed to be reinforced with additional beams to support the Azec material. After the demolition and reinforcement was done, the installation of the deck moved on without a hitch. The work - demolition through completion - was completed in five days. On the prior Sunday we had the old deck, the following Sunday we had the new deck. We can't be more pleased.

Alex and his co=worker Tom were very skilled, knowledgeable and proficient in the work that they did. It was a fairly large project and there were a few snags along the way, but these were corrected. They were neat with clean-up. I would recommend them and I would use them again in the future.

I spoke with approximately 7 contractors before I decided to hire House Rx for a condo update. Alex of House Rx was the only one I felt I could trust. The only original parts of the condo that remained were the kitchen flooring and entry tile flooring. Alex was honest and upfront with me, told me he wouldn't be able to work on the project continuously, however, he was here almost everyday. From start to finish it took approximately 3 weeks with a few minor lingering details which were taken care of today (the punch list, and there weren't many items on it!) Alex was very helpful with suggestions regarding kitchen layout etc. As I was new to this area, he pointed me in the right direction for choosing cabinets, tile, carpet, counter tops, etc. All of the vendors he recommended were very easy to work with. Alex was, also, sensitive to my budget, and kept me apprised of any overages (due to my changing plans) well in advance so that there were no surprises. AND, he never complained about the changes I made! Both Alex and Tom are efficient and neat workers. While I didn't live in my condo during renovations, they still consistently clean up at the end of every work day which I considered respectful. I would absolutely work with Alex and Tom again. Actually, I have already spoken to Alex about a few small projects I'd like done in my condo. These projects are outside the scope of the original work preformed. Creative, honest, punctual, neat, great craftsmanship, and a good sense of humor thrown in too!

House RX was a pleasure to work with. The whole process went very smoothly, from the initial planning to completion. The whole project took approximately 5 weeks to complete. Alex offered great suggestions throughout the process, such as ways to maximize storage and other various design tips, that made the finished product better than expected. Alex and Tom are creative, excellent craftsman and are very detail-oriented. But most of all, House Rx is a honest, respectful company and I would not hesistate to work with them again in the future.

Alex was great to work with - throughout the entire process, from planning to the actual work. He offered suggestions throughout the planning process, which we appreciated, but was never pushy about it. He answered phone calls/emails promptly, which we also appreciated. Alex and Tom completed our entire job in less than 5 weeks - which included a complete kitchen, powder room and mudroom/laundry remodel. They did quality work and were receptive to small changes throughout. They were also clean and just all around helpful. Alex looked at a broken garage door opener, and they helped us move some cabinetry and a granite counter top we sold. Overall, we were very satisfied with his work. Our only minor complaint might be that we wish they had put another coat of trim paint in some areas. We had an oil based trim paint that is hard to cover up. It was an expensive endeavor for us, but I'd rather pay for quality that regret it down the line. In short, we'd use Alex again and we probably will.

As stated before, this is the fourth project that we contracted with Alex. This work consisted of putting walls back in place that were destroyed during remediating a mold issue. In addition, it included re-painting the kitchen and painting the family room. Before this project, Alex and Tom remodeled our downstairs bathroom. This work included taking out the old sink and toilet, replacing the laying new tile on the floor, putting bead board along the walls, replacing the lighting and painting. We continue to receive many compliments on the remodel and the quality of the work.

Short Review: Alex is extremely talented and is a contractor you can trust. I highly recommend working with him! The Details: I find HouseRX online when I was looking for a contractor to remodel my new home. I had just moved to NJ and had no idea who to hire or where to look, which made me very nervous. Alex came over during the home inspection and I instantly had a good feeling about him. He was very easy to talk to and clearly very talented. He spent a lot of time answering questions about the kitchen design and making changes to make us happy. He works with a professional kitchen designer, which really helped us find a great layout for our new space. He and his team worked very hard and I fully trusted them in my home even when I wasn't there. My husband and I went on vacation and while away they worked extra hard so we'd come back to a nearly complete renovation upon our return. No renovation or remodel is easy, but Alex makes the process as smooth as possible. He's someone you can trust both in terms of quality and value. I highly recommend doing business with House Rx.

Alex certainly did a beautiful job!He was helpful with suggestions, minimized any inconvenience to us, and cleaned the space before leaving each day. Alex always went the extra mile to insure that I was pleased with the work. Case in point... A small black transformer was part of the under cabinet lighting, and, since my cabinets were cream, Alex built a cream-colored housing for the transformer so that it would be less noticeable. I didn't ask him to..I.just mentioned that it was too bad it was black. Next thing I know...Alex goes the extra mile! All work was done beautifully and in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend House Rx, andI fully intend to hire the team of Alex and Tom from House Rx for any future home endeavors.

This was the first time we hired anyone to come into our home to do remodeling. We selected House RX using Angie's List. Turns out it was a great decision. The work Alex and his crew did was beautiful. We had our bathroom gutted, interior and exterior doors replaced, attic access installed and the living room painted. Alex was flexible when we changed some plans as the work moved along. His prices were very reasonable. Our house is an old house and isn't easy to work on. But Alex was able to work with any issues that came up and complete the work on time. We're very happy with House RX. Next summer....the kitchen! But it will be less stress because we know who will be doing the work. See you next year, Alex!

We were very impressed with Alex's work ethic and professionalism. Alex met with us to understand what we wanted done to our bathroom. He provided us with a couple of renderings. His proposal was very specific as to what he and Tom would do and the materials they would be using. Alex is a very focused and detail-oriented person intend on doing a quality job. He had a well thought-out project plan resulting in a beautiful bathroom that has gotten raves from family and friends. Alex and Tom's work is amazing: Corners matched, tiles cut perfectly, grout lines uniform and perfect, miter cuts exact. To top it off they cleaned up after themselves.
