Wilber's Painting

The workers arrived on time every day. Covered large furniture that could not be removed. The house where the work was done is almost 100 year old. Removed old wallpaper that was there for about 30 years. Sanded, spackled, primed and painted walls and woodwork. Workers were neat and very careful while working. Cleaned up when they were finished each day. Left the basement where they washed up their equipment clean.

Initially, Wilber's was very responsive, though there were some typos and logistical issues in their first email (they had some incorrect contact info for me). However, those are shallower criticisms. More importantly, Wilber was friendly and clear when he visited, and also open to work with our budget. After some delay in communications, we found a great compromise for the price, and his crew promptly arrived the first day of the job to apply the skim coat. The next day, though, they showed up but had to leave immediately because the skim coat had not yet dried. This was inconvenient, since I had planned on being at home all day that day, and had already placed my dog in day care. Had I known there was even a chance the skim coat would not cure in 24 hours I would have been more cautious in my plans. Nonetheless, they showed up on Friday and finished the job in one day. And it looked great. The crew was friendly and responsible. Great experience overall with some small, but totally understandable, bumps along the way.

The overall experience was great. They were timely and very reasonable in pricing. They were very easy to work with and very accommodating.

I was very happy on both occasions. I set up appointments for an estimate and the person who came was punctual, answered all my questions, and offered some useful ideas and suggestions. The price quoted was very reasonable compared to two other estimates I had received. The workers arrived on the scheduled date and did a neat and professional job. They also let the work area neat and tidy. It is obvious they care about their work and reputation.

Very pleased with the work of Wilber's Chris and Pablo handled the process very professional. Started painting Friday morning, worked saturday and sunday 8am-6pm and were done and out Monday evening. They came inspected the house with us on Tuesday and touched up a few small things and the house looks great.

Started on time and finished on time........and never tried to renegotiate the price. Don't be scared because their price is so competitive.......the work is excellent

Due to a flood, my rooms needed immediate painting. Wilbur gave me an estimate the same day I called and re-arranged his schedule to fit me. As a result of his cooperation, my life was disrupted for only a week, rather an extended period of time. I am very grateful to Wilbur, David his team leader and Jose, the painter.

Painters were very punctual and professional. Came day before the job to cover all of the floors and to block of the areas to be painted with plastic. Also spackled and patched any necessary areas. Completed the job in 3 days so that we were done before Thanksgiving.

They were okay. They did the job and left and that was pretty much it. It was a pretty ordinary service.

Our experience with Wilbur was excellent. They executed details on the post that we requested . We plan to use Wibur again.

we contracted for outdoor house painting but as usual, some construction needed to be completed on water damage to cedar shakes on front of house. We also had the carpenters tear out and replace our 20 year old cedar decking with composite decking using the fastener system "Camo" so you can't see the fasteners. The carpenters, I'm sorry I can't think of their names, did a fantastic job and made suggestions for the new decking that would weather better that we agreed to. When they were finished the painters came. We all discussed what was to be done with the estimator (Chris) present to clear up any misunderstandings. Rosvin and Juan (Johnny) the painters, were very professional. They distributed leaflets around the neighborhood announcing the sanding and removal of possible lead-based paint before covering the house with tarps and sanding the house to bare cedar shakes. It looked fantastic! The neighbors all marveled at the job and asked for the name of the company for future needs. Rosvin and Johnny cleaned up after themselves each day 2 days! As did the carpenters and hauled off all the old deck wood when finished. This is a great company to work with and I recommend them highly not only for the painting expertise but also the carpentry expertise. The workers are knowledgeable and have opinions on what they think will work in terms of construction and color if you ask them.

. We were extremely pleased with the professionalism of the on-site team, which was comprised of 3 brothers who worked exclusively together under the supervision of the estimator/ expediter. The quality of their work which included over 8 interior colors, a kitchen with full cabinetry sanding/ repainting and several rooms and ceilings with "skim coat" (plastering) process was artistically unsuppressed. They were on time, worked very cleanly despite the high potential for dust, cooperated with our busy family schedule, and were overall very pleasant. I would say that the expediter was not on-site or as responsive as we would have preferred, but that she was keenly aware of the job requirements and pricing. I would advise others considering a large paint job to insist on meeting the team and foreman prior to the job starting to confirm that English is understood by all, and to a**** their history with the company (amount of time with them, does the team work together, how many days/ workers will be on site at a time, etc) as these details are negotiable. Also when painting "trim", window trim is not necessarily included in that price so check your contract closely in advance. Overall, however, given the scope and cost of our job, we were highly pleased with the outcome and would definitely use Wilburs again and advise others to do the same!

Their first crew didn't do so well and we talked to the owner and they put a second supervisor on it and when he came it was fantastic and everything got done and the quality of the work was really good.

The interior work was for a kitchen undergoing partial renovation - the workers were careful and completed the work on schedule. The exterior work was to re-paint trim on the house. Again, the work was done well and in the timely manner. Carpentry work - some recommended by the painting crew, also done well. All aspects of dealing with this company have been positive - they are pleasant and pleasant.

I would recommend Wilber's for indoor or outdoor work..

The initial team sent to do the basement did not do prep and told me they were completing the job in half the estimated time. They had painted over loose pealing paint and did not remove furniture or fixtures, as described in the proposal but painted around them. I asked Wilber to come see the job and assign someone else to do the work. He agree with me and the second team tried hard to make up for the first team however as they said they could only do so much since alot of paint had covered up dirt and loose paint that should have been removed before. Another team did and excellent job on my outside trim, removing all the layers of paint and installing an new light fixture. I was very happy with the trim work. Regarding the fence, the team power washed and stained it. However the stain was not what had been recommended by Wilber and what I had used twice in the past. I wanted a see thru light stain and a heavier much less attractive stained was applied. Im not sure how this happened but communication was not there. I saw this after too much had been applied to change it so I didnt mention it. In addition, one neighbor is upset because some paining was sloppy on her side. I would use them again since its hard to get excellent home improvement workers and Wilber is very good to work with. I would be sure the workers know what you want, what materials you want and check on there work regularly. I believe Wilber has more work than he has good workers.

Overall, we are very satisfied. We picked two of the highest rated on Angie's list and Wilber's estimate came in about a thousand less so I assumed the price is reasonable or fair. They were rated well and also did a house a few spots down the road and it looked well done. They estimated the start date about 6 weeks after the estimate which was fine with us. The office called a few days before to let us know and the foreman called a day before to check in. Chris came over to estimate the work and he was very professional and courteous. Pablo was our foreman and he was also very polite. He checked in at the end of each day to see if everything was satisfactory. The workmen were reasonably punctual and the job lasted the estimated number of days. They cleaned up everything when done and the work is clean and well done. Pablo gave us his cell so we can contact him if there were any issues. Two minor caveats but nothing to change our rating. The office itself was a bit slow in getting a response back via calls or emails. I had sent in my deposit and didn't get the contract back for a week or two. I sent an email but no answer so I called and they sent it over. Second thing is just some advice on carpentry. Another firm that estimated the work noticed some planks that were rotting. Wilber's didn't mention it but when I asked, they said they can repair it as well. Near the end of the job, I asked when the carpenter would come as they were almost done painting. They said they did notice a couple of planks needed some repair so they re-did that part. It didn't really affect us as worst case, it would add a day or two but it was so small, it was fixed quickly. My advice is if you think you need some real carpentry work, definitely mention that at the start of the job and point things out. Don't assume its taken care of. Or write it into the contract. They were very cool about it but it could save you some hassle.

Wilber's Painting and Carpentry company was contracted to paint both the outside and inside of our home. It was apparent right from the beginning when they provided a very detailed estimate, to the professional way the prep team sanded the outside of our home, right down to the bare shakes that these were professionals. They provided a quality job at a reasonable price. They were on time and on budget, cleaned up after themselves. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone wanting a quality job. I plan on using them again very soon!

We recently hired Wilbur's to paint the interior of our home. We are extremely pleased with the results. Wilbur is a true perfectionist and an artisan. The work was exceptional and his crew was very courteous and professional. The job was started on time and finished two days early. The prices were very competitive with other quotes we received. Highly recommended!

Wilber's first visit was so thorough and thoughtful that it was clear he knew what he was doing -- and he does. From the outside inspection to the optimal paint to use (we have a tudor so both wood and stucco) to sitting down and going over every detail of the contract our experience was one of the smoothest contractor experiences, and we have dealt with contractors in three homes so far. The workers were respectful, prompt and courteous. The outside of our house is transformed and looks beautiful. And even at the end, when I went around to look at TINY spots/drips, they fixed them to perfection.

They were incredibly professional and timely. They were here for three days and weren't excessively loud. They cleaned up very well, and just did a great job. They did additional work for us no questions asked.

I was very disappointed with this response. Three times she told me it was mailed and three times she said she would personally hand deliver the estimate to my house. Ten days have passed since and nothing has arrived. This representative was not reliable.

I don’t remember how much they charged me for their services but it was reasonable. I liked their customer service, knowledge and I didn’t feel like they were selling me anything. They were willing to work with me on the price and I didn’t feel like I compromised with any of the quality. I would refer them to my friends and family members. In fact I already have. I will use them again in the future.
