Estimate was reasonable, work quality was fine. Communication was terrible.
Description of Work: Restored a partially finished basement that had been destroyed by Irene.

I do appreciate all customers reviews and feedback. Unfortunately during some of this project I was away and some communication did suffer, I will own up to that. In no way do I carry myself that way and always try communicate at all times. I do hope that the family is happy with the outcome, this is most important, and I do apologize to [member name removed] for the lack of communication.

I called Jason for a quote on our project, as I saw he was doing work at my neighbors house. He arrived, looked over the job and said it was no problem. I received his quote which was in line with other quotes I received, but went with Levesque Homes because Jason appeared confident he could do the job. Apparently he was very busy, but I had a timeline, as we were getting delivery of the tub. After a few weeks, I asked Jason when he could just lay cement so I could order the tub. He gave me a date, I ordered the tub. The tub was ready for delivery, and we had no cement pad. I emailed, and called, and Jason seemed put off that I needed the cement put in due to the pending delivery (two weeks after he promised to complete) . He arranged to put in the pad, so I could make the delivery appointment. The temporary ramp that was put in was deemed not acceptable to use by the delivery company, and I needed to have the delivery company take the hot tub back to their warehouse. I guess Jason was not responsible for getting the tub in the patio, though we discussed he would arrange. That is why the temporary ramp was added in the quote. I hired a crane, and had the tub redelivered and hoisted onto the cement pad. Three weeks later, our doorway was made from the basement into the garage, and sheet rocking done. All satisfactory. I asked Jason to lay done a small area of laminate flooring in the walkway, which he said was not in the and quot;scope of the original joband quot;, so I asked him how much he wanted, and I agreed with the price. It is now three months I am waiting for Jason to lay down this small section of floor. Perhaps a small item for a contractor, but I would have thought he would want to finish the job with a happy customer. He didn't. It is unfortunate, because Jason is a nice guy. His work was fine. However, I cannot recommend his service.
Description of Work: Made doorway from basement to garage, Sheet rocked area of garage for walkway to patio. Put in a cement pad for hot tub. Made a temporary ramp for spa tub to be brought into my backyard.

I do appreciate all customers feedback and reviews as well as the opportunity to fix any issues. I agree with [member name removed], but he did leave out a lot of variables that affected the work. The slab was delayed due to the permit application as well as the inspection. I was asked to do the job with a tentative delivery date of two weeks away. The permit had to be applied for and passed, this took approx. 4 business days to get into the town (due to a survey and electrical permit being signed and stamped by my electrician) then approx. 9 business days of review. Upon getting the permit I removed the pavers and readied the slab rebar and metal mesh, the inspector passed. this was within 4 days of receiving the permit. I then proceeded install the electrical and pour the slab before the electrical inspection, I took pictures that way the electrical inspector could see the work. I did so to expedite the project. The inspector was happy with everything and passed the work. The then slab needed to cure for a few days, and was ready for delivery after the weekend. All of the work and inspections took about 5 days. As for the ramp, I did construct one that was thought to be structurally sound for a tub. It was built of 3/4" CDX plywood and 2x6 every 10", at a length of 7', with additional support ready on site. I believe the pitch was about 20-25 degrees. I did ask in the beginning what the delivery company needed, but got no real answer or specs for the ramp. I have used the similar ramp structure, at a longer span in the past, without any issues. As far as the floor, I do apologize. I was extremely busy at the time and through out the holidays, time flew by without a chance to get there. I do not try to give any excuses for my tardiness and should have found time to install the flooring In all, I do thank [member name removed] for the business and do apologize for any issues that I may have caused, but many of the events that prolonged the project were affectively out of my hands. I did try my best to rush the permit through and get the work done in a timely manner for the tub delivery. I am more than happy to discuss the project and details if given the opportunity. Thank You for a chance to explain
