Do NOT do business with this provider! I contacted Mike at Junk Genie to have an old furniture set picked up to drop off at the local Goodwill store. Mike expressed an interest in the furniture and offered to pick up the items at no cost to me to sell at his thrift shop. I was happy to do so and scheduled an appointment for him to come out. I let him know that I was fairly flexible with scheduling and would be glad to accommodate him schedule-wise. He let me know that he had a few jobs coming up in the two days prior to our appointment but he would confirm the day before. The day before the scheduled appointment- I called Mike to confirm the time and he told me he was back-logged on another job but would get back to me later that day once he checked the schedule. He did not call me back and I had to call him again (this was still day before the appointment). After calling him again, he said he would definitely know by tomorrow morning and asked me to call him then. Saturday morning, the day of our appointment- I called Mike again to ask what time he would be coming to pick up the furniture. He gave me another story about being on a job that was taking longer than expected. I let him know that he could come by in the late afternoon if that would work for him - even though I had already set aside half the day. When I indicated that we really needed to settle on a time, he started questioning whether the furniture was in decent in shape (since he would be selling it). I reiterated, that yes, it had some normal usage wear, but no scratches or dents or anything broken. He said if it was in bad shape, he would have to charge me for the pick-up. I reassured him the furniture was in decent shape. Once again, he said he would call me back in 10 minutes after checking the schedule and would let me know. He did NOT call me back. I called him several times and left multiple messages and never heard back from him. Conclusion - Mike left me hanging, never returned my calls after I left multiple messages and was all-around unprofessional. We had agreed upon a date for pick up, but he never confirmed despite at least half a dozen calls on my side and created a huge inconvenience for me. I found him to be unprofessional, discourteous, rude and completely unreliable. If you are looking for someone in this service category, go with a different provider and save yourself a big headache. This provider is very unprofessional and unreliable.

We were cleaning out my mother's home prior to sale and needed some extra help removing and disposing of some furniture and some other items, as she was downsizing. We called Junk Genie and spoke with someone who said that they would come to the house the following morning at 9:00AM to view the items and give us a price. My mother asked if he wanted our address, but the representative said that he would be in our area the following day and would call to get the address before coming. The next day, 9 AM came and went with no contact from the Junk Genie. To this day, we have never heard from them. Fortunately, we were able to make other arrangements. In reply to the provider's response: this review is for the correct business. My mother's former home where the work was to be performed is in Pennsauken, NJ. I was in NJ at the time of the initial contact and was sitting in the room as my mother spoke with the provider's representative. The review is an accurate description of our experience with this provider.

All the great reviews are true! Mike called me the same day, came out to give me a quote and did the job all within a week. His price was reasonable compared to others that were outrageous. What I really appreciated was his employees were courteous and respected my home by replacing items they moved and cleaned up before they left. I will definitely use them again.

The large removal companies, as well as some other local companies, charge a fortune. Mark told me what the price was upfront and honored it. He and his helper were friendly, courteous and considerate of me and my home as they moved the items. I recommend The Junk Genie and would use Mark's company again.

Junk Genie rocks! Mike answers this phone when you call, will text with you to set up a time, and offers same day service. His prices are very affordable, much less than other services, and he takes everything- clothing to be donated, furniture, junk, and garbage. He's personable, punctual, friendly and professional. He was very careful with my stuff and my house/surroundings. I would and will use him again, and would recommend him to anyone.

I left a message which was returned within 24 hours. On the day of the service, they arrived at the designated time, and completed the job within one half hour. The price was exactly as quoted on the phone. I was very satisfied with the service.

They were very good and thorough. They went into our garage and took everything out of our garage. They came early in the morning and did what they said would do. They were here when they said they would be. We took out what we wanted to keep and they hauled off the rest. I had no problem with them. I was very impressed with them. They asked me a couple of times if I was sure I wanted to get rid of some things. I would not hesitate to use them again.

It went quickly and efficiently. The crew arrived early in the morning and went to work right away. The whole process took less than two hours. Aside from greeting them, and paying at the end, I didn't have to be involved with any aspect of the job.

They weren't as satisfactory as I would like. The issue with them is that they do price proposals based on what they believe will be the balance between what they have to haul to the landfill and stuff they can sell. There has to be a lot of clarity over what is being removed before they come and what is not. It can be a minute by minute negotiation. If someone comes in and decides they want to take it home then they can change the price because they had planned to sell it. It was probably my fault as much as theirs in terms of whether it was a comfortable transaction. They were supposed to come back and get some cans of dried up paint, I could have called them and held them to it but at that point I decided to let it go and handle it myself.

He was a very good hard worker. It turned out to be a 2-day job. The experience was good. He did a fine job. He put some things up on the rafters. I had told him to put the beach umbrellas down on the shelf and somehow the main one we use was put up on the rafters. My husband had to climb up to get it and he reached which he is not supposed to do and he lost his balance. It was not really his fault; it just kind of happened but I would definitely use the man again.

Mike and his assistant were on time and worked quickly and quietly. They did the inside work first, which was nice because my yard was wet and they didn't have to track mud back into the house. The job went smoothly - I was worried about banged walls, but there were no problems whatsoever.
