Terrible. I was overcharged for the work. The quality of the work and customer service could not have been worse. The owner talked a good talk, so I made the mistake of paying him before the work was complete. The holes were not properly spackled, and were thus still visible. The sanding of the dried spackle was awful. To make things worse, they used the wrong paint over both patches! See the photos below. Stevie Wonder could have done a better job. One of the employees said he would come back to correct the work. However, once the owner cashed the check, he never responded to my several texts and phone calls. I never before experienced such unprofessional treatment. If you want to waste your time and money, then hire this company. If not, then look elsewhere. Because of their terrible work and use of wrong paints, I have to hire another contractor to paint both walls entirely. I am lawyer and will be suing this company for breach of contract.

All went well and job completed within the time frame promised

It was an excellent experience. Odes and his colleague did a great job and were very professional, start to finish.

For 21 scattered hours of so called work it went poorly. Now I need to hire someone to fix many mistakes and to get the room paint ready! I do not want anyone to make the same mistake I did, no one should hire this man to do anything for them.

Odes and his co-worker were outstanding in painting my house. They were extremely professional, diligent, punctual each day and I could not have been more happier with the attention to detail and preparation that went into the project. The business name Straight Line Painters could not have been more appropriate as a result of the way Tim and Odes were able to "cut in" to the edges and walls of each of the room. They used the best rollers and brushes in applying the paint and they were extremely attentive and mindful of the existing furniture in the house. They moved each piece of furniture, then protected the same, and then placed back the furniture and curtains in their original location and condition. Odes even provided some minor details at no cost in order to make the project come out professional and left the house in immaculate condition. I could not have been more happier with the work they performed. I could not have received a better work product for the competitive cost they quoted me which was extremely fair and reasonable..

It went awesome! They were very responsive to all of my many emails. Explained exactly what they were going to do, gave me professional tips in case i ever decided to do the work on my own. Arrive on time! Did all of the prep work, put on plastic shoe coverings, laid down plenty of tarp and got to work right away. We couldn't be more happy and will hire again to paint our finished basement/family room. Oh and you can't beat their prices! So glad we found them. Have been singing their praises to all family and friends.

On the first day, Straight Line Painters checked the walls for imperfections, cracks and nail pops. They repaired the walls and sanded the repairs. On the second day they moved the furniture to the center of the rooms to be painted and covered everything with plastic and drop cloths. They removed the wall switch plates and outlet covers and began painting. The paint job took four days. At the end of each day they cleaned up the area where they had been working. They were careful in moving my many houseplants around as they painted. They were prompt, professional, courteous and extremely neat. They were even nice enough to hang a picture that was too heavy for me to lift. At first I thought their price was a little high compared to a couple of other estimates I had received, but after seeing the finish product and experiencing their professionalism, I am glad I decided on Straight Line Painters. I will use them again when I am ready to have my upper level painted.

Though Straight Line Painters was not the least expensive (but almost!), I selected Odes Calcinot because the sense of confidence and professionalism he displayed was quite impressive. It is important to him that he offer a fair price and also that he fully understand the needs of the homeowner. I was very concerned about the rainy weather and the effect on fresh paint. He patiently answered my many question and reassured me. And, his assessment proved correct. I especially appreciated that he is a man of his word. He came to each appointment on time and responded promptly to each telephone call. Several neighbors have complimented the quality and appearance of his work. Will I hire Straight Line Painters (Odes Calcinot) again? Absolutely!

I interviewed 8 contractors and Straight Line price was midway. Odes was very pleasant, provided a contact that was not itemized. Odes stated that his company uses Sherwin Williams paint, provided samples and stated that he had 5 workers to do the job and it would take one week to complete. Well the job took a month. Granted it rained on and off for about two weeks, but when there were days when it didn't rain, no one showed up. During the entire time there was only worker and maybe a second would come for about 2-3 hours. The painters were very, very soppy job. Paint over the glass windows, color paint on the white paint, left my water hose on for two days, constantly had to remind them to clean up their junk. For some reason the worker and Odes when he painted did not believe in painter's tape. Paint slashed everywhere.They missed some areas while power washing. Their equipment killed my grass. And the worst part, we noticed that they were not using Sherman Williams paint and my husband went off. They were using the worst paint per consumer report. The repair of the windows which was to replace the rotten wood, well one fell apart and I told them not to touch my bay window. ( Loss my trust in them) There were holes on the window frames from hardware that was remove, they did not fill them in. The color I picked is beautiful but I would never use them again. SLOPPY, SLOPPY and SLOPPY

Odes was very responsive to my messages and answered all of my questions right away. He gave me a quote via text after I sent him pictures and details, which was extremely helpful as I am very busy and did not have time to schedule an in-person visit for an estimate. I reached out to him on a Sunday afternoon, it rained Monday and Tuesday, and Wednesday the painting was done. He and his assistant, Tim, did a great job and even sent me pictures during the day so I could watch their progress from work. I would definitely use them again.

Beautiful work on time and on budget. The owner was especially good at communicating exactly when things were going to happen. We always knew when they were coming and were called promptly for any changes in the schedule. We really value the communications. As an added bonus, they were able to refinish our kitchen cabinets. We are getting ready to put our house on the market, and did not want to have to replace all our cabinets (they were structurally sound but not too pretty after 30 years). The guy who was assigned to the cabinets did a beautiful job of staining and polishing.

Paint job was excellent. Very clean. Price was a little higher than I was hoping, but in the end was worth it. Definitely recommend.

He did a nice job on all of this work. It looks great. He has a great personality as well. My neighbor liked his work and hired him as well.

I had to call back twice because the job wasn't finished. I found 5 cans of paint that were partially used that equaled two gallons when all put together. Two pieces of my possessions were missing after they left, a very nice utility knife and a pair of nice channel locks. There was a strip that was missing in the hallway and he told me that was because I had cheap paint. There was one room I just wanted the trim painted and when they painted the trim they went beyond the edges of the trim and so they got semi gloss paint on the flat paint that was in this room and it really wasn't in need of paint so I thought everything would come off if I washed it. They slopped semi gloss paint on to the flat. They did paint the room free of charge. They slopped the paint and left the floors dirty. There was a lot of dust and stuff and he wiped one spot but not the other spots. The work they did do was fine. I paid more because the job was bigger and what I had originally planned on doing was to have them come in because I had already contacted their company to do the work and then I saw the Angie's List promotion and they said they would give me 10% off what needed to be done. It was more than a two day job but I feel they over charged me. It cost more than $2000. They did it in a reasonable time frame. They were here last week. He did respond to all of my concerns even though I had to push a lot. I spoke to them about the utility knife.

Purchase of a home with 8 rooms decorated in high-quality ( read "extremely difficult to remove") but dated wallpaper was the reason we purchased this service. We scheduled for Monday, March 14, but worker's truck was on the fritz. Having read some negative comments on Angie's List, I thought, "Uh-oh." I needn't have worried. Earlier than expected on Tuesday 15th, Odes Calcinot reported in. We had spent 3 full days stripping paper ourselves, found the task to be incredibly difficult, had accomplished very little, and despaired of being ready to paint on schedule. We were hoping Odes could get the 13x13 dining room finished on Tuesday. He did. And the 25x13 living room. And the stairwell. We were absolutely incredulous! He knew exactly what he was doing, worked straight through lunch, and taught us some of his methods. A very pleasant, professional, and meticulous worker.

The actual paint job itself was good. We had several mix-ups with the timing of the job: 1) First, on the agreed date and time to perform the work, Odes thought we were just scheduling for an estimate for extra work, while we assumed they were coming out to actually paint. We sorted this out quickly with a phone call. 2) Next, on the agreed date and time, there was another mix-up with their schedule and his painter didn't show-up. We had to reschedule again for the next day. 3) On the re-scheduled date, his painter was supposed to show up around 8:30am, but didn't get there until 10am, since he got lost. He painted the bathroom walls satisfactorily (but forgot to do the door trims) and left at 5:30pm.

When the owner came to see my room, which is 12'x15' he said that there is no way anyone could remove the wallpaper and paint my room in those 8 hours. He could only remove the wallpaper in that time. I could've done both the wallpaper removal and painting in that time and I'm not even a professional. So he said what he could do is remove the $199 I paid for the big from an invoice that may total ~$1,000 to get the job done including both wallpaper removal and painting. I told him no, just come in and remove the wallpaper I only want to redeem the Big Deal I purchased. We looked at his calendar together, and scheduled for the 14th. I never received any confirmation and had to call in multiple times to confirm who would arrive. I took a day off work and prepped the area by moving furniture etc. at 8:39 AM the worker called and tells me that he wouldn't be able to do this because he doesn't have the order #. I sent them the order# from my Angie's List confirmation email, followed by a text and phone call. The owner said that there was a mixup and he said the best he could do is get someone out later today, but they can't do 8 hours of work.

Odes was professional, thorough, and tidy. I would definitely recommend him.

First, the provider told me that the Angie's List does not allow him to paint higher than 8 feet height while my foyer is two story. Given that the deal on Angies List also included external painting, it sounds ridiculous that painting above 8 feet is not allowed. In addition, the fine print on AngiesList did not include any such restriction. The provider told me that he would come over and give me an estimate of the work, then deduct $199 (what I paid for this deal on Angies List) from the estimate and give me 10% discount. The deal was promoted as $349 value on Angies List. If I am getting just $199 off from the estimate after paying that amount well in advance, how is that a $349 value? Finally, the vendor did not show up for the appointment for proving me the estimate. When I called back, he claimed that he tried to call me before coming and my phone was not working. He said he couldn't work, and AngiesList would refund me the money that I Paid. I know that AngiesList had a 30 day money back guarantee on this deal, but I do not see anywhere the option to request the refund.

I scheduled with them twice and both times they did not show up to do the work nor did they call me.
