Dream come true!! That’s what the entire experience with The Basic Basement company was like. Seriously, from start to finish. First person we met with was Eddie Spall. He arrived at our house at 6pm and did not leave until 9:30pm. He definitely took his time in making sure we felt comfortable, happy and excited about moving forward with our decision. It wasn’t all business with him, he shared his own personal stories and even gave advice. He walked us through the financing process, yes, financing which was a huge plus. After that is when Gail stepped in and took care of everything from permit packets to scheduling ever trade and keeping us up to date on the schedule to come. Each trade was polite, professional and most importantly, clean and organized. When the project came to a close, I was actually a little bummed out. What am I going to do now? Enjoy my newly finished basement!!

Basic Basement finished our basement this summer and did a fantastic job. From start to finish, they had our interests in mind and never tried to upsell us on anything. It started with Bobby, who visited our home and provided us a computer-generated layout based on measurements and observations made that day. He spent several hours with us and answered all our initial questions and concerns, all the way up until we signed our contract and scheduled our start date. Gail, the project coordinator, was prompt and courteous when communicating with us throughout each phase of the project - framing, electrical, plumbing, drywall, tile, painting, and inspections. She was easy to get a hold of and very responsive. Mike, one of the onsite coordinators, was awesome to work with and basically acted as our voice to the contractors - not that they were not courteous, but sometimes it is easy for a layperson to explain things to someone with more knowledge who can then communicate that to the workers. Mike regularly visited to check up on the progress and make sure things were on schedule. Lastly, all the contractors that Basic Basement uses were very professional, neat, and respectful of our property. They often finished ahead of their estimated timeframe - very dedicated workers. All in all, Basic Basement made an intimidating job for a homeowner a breeze, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a high-quality finished basement. The results speak for themselves!

Excellent customer service. Well planned and no deviation from the original design plan. Help you at every step especially in getting township approvals.Highly skilled workers and finish the job on time , neat and clean. Inform you about the schedule well in advance and accommodate changes per your need. Inspect at each and every stage to make sure it meets the customer expectations. I give 5 out of 5 for this company .A major portion of the payment is taken only when the project is complete which is nice about them.they kept the pathways , driveways, stairs neat through out the work and no hassle for the homeowners. We are so happy we went with Basic Basement to finish our basement. One of the best decisions and investments we could have made in our home! Everyone from the painters to electricians to the drywall installers were professional, on time and tidy. Every step of the way our floors were covered and everything was cleaned up by the end of the day. One of the best parts of the whole process was having the pleasure of working with Gail. She kept us informed by providing detailed emails of our schedule for the week and anything required of us. Our basement is now one of our family's favorite places to hang out. Cannot recommend The Basic Companies enough when it comes to finishing your basement.

We had a fantastic experience with The Basic Basement Company! The communication was always quick whether it was the scheduler or the Project Manager. The crews that showed up were always on time, worked hard and were always respectful. I have nothing but great things to say about this experience and their work.

Work went really well. Appreciated having a project manager on site before framing started to confirm the layout I wanted. Very professional. Each crew that came in was respectful of my house and nice to interact with. We made a few changes a long the way that they were accommodating of, like deciding to replace the drywall in the stairwell and add solid core instead of hollow core doors. We had several township inspections along the way and the inspectors were all impressed. He'd seen a lot of the work from this company and referred to them as "a well oiled machine". I agree. Highly recommend!

I am so happy with how our basement turned out. We had a small, partial basement completely unfinished, was just disgusting. Its now a bright, beautiful playroom for our children. After the installation of my French drain /sump pump, we hired the Basic Basement Company to finish one side of our basement. All portions of the project went smooth and rather quickly. (Started the end of October/Finished middle of February) The only delay was the Christmas holiday/New Years weeks off and my personal 2 week vacation. Thanks to my Sales Rep Ed , coordinator Gail, project manager Mike and everyone else from the electricians to the painters for such a wonderful transformation.

Basic Basement Co did a great job with my basement finishing project. Their customer service, project communication and coordination was very good. The entire team from salesperson, on-site project manager, back office project coordinator, subcontractors were very professional and experienced.

From the beginning, the Basic Basement Co. was everything we could have asked for in a contractor. We had a completely unfinished 1000 square feet concrete basement that has been transformed into 800 square feet of livable and enjoyable space. After a number of estimates we decided to use The Basic Basement Company. We were extremely happy with the completion of the project, the forecasted date of completion, and the communication from the office during construction. Gail was excellent throughout the process and she emailed us to let us know the next steps, what was to be completed, and if we needed to do anything. Mike was a great PM who addressed all of our needs and concerns. We have recommended the Basic Basement Company to friends and family. Everyone who has seen our basement is impressed with the job that was completed. I would not hesitate to hire the Basic Basement Company for future projects.

We live in Central NJ and wanted our 1960 basement finished so our kids had a large place to play. We got estimates from a few companies but we liked this company the best! The whole process was easy and straight forward. (They also offer water proofing but we already had another company lined up prior). After the blue prints and permits are completed and paid, construction starts. All supplies are delivered the day prior. From what I remember, our project was broken up into the following construction parts: 1) framing, 2) rough electrical, 3) insulation, 4) drywall, 5) Spackling, 6) Sanding, 7) final electrical, 8) doors & molding, 9) Flooring. There will be inspecting in between from your township and the company. The workers and project managers were great, knowledgeable, and friendly. There is clear communication throughout the project and any issues or concerns you have are immediately addressed. We had the kids and dog at home on all the project days with no issues. There were no “surprise” issued that required us to spend more money. The cost of the entire project is upfront. They do offer upgrades such as nicer molding, mold resistant drywall, nicer quality wood for the stairs (we had the stairs replaced too), and more. We are very happy with their work and love our basement. I highly recommend them!

This was the best experience I've had with a contractor by far. In the past 12 years since I've owned my home I have had dozens of contractors come through for estimates and work for various upgrades and projects in the house. Each step of the process was smooth and efficient with surprisingly no headaches or unforeseen issues. Each crew that came in specialized in their part of the process whether it be drywall, painting or electrical and all treated my home with respect as some contractors can be very messy. I will be recommending the Basic Basement company to all of my family and friends =)

We just used Basic for the second time to refinish our basement (we recently moved). We would happily use them again. From the sales process to construction they're professional and responsive. They come up with creative solutions to unique basement quirks and always finish on time and on budget. We 100% recommend.

Wow! Unbelievable company. I could not be happier with the basic basement company. Every crew was on time, professional, and friendly. Every day they cleaned up and took any trash out. They walked me through each day and the final product. Gail and her team were tremendous! She was so detailed with every step and made what could be a tense project…stress free for me from start to finish. She was extremely prompt with any questions I had. This company came highly recommended and I will now pass that along. I highly recommend them for any services. I will be using them for additional projects in the near future.

I would highly recommend The Basic Basement Company to finish your basement. We contracted with them during fall of 2021 and work was completed in March 2022. They have a lot of clients, so there might be a wait for work to begin. Overall, they were really patient with us and easy to work with. They plan the work carefully with you, giving you valuable suggestions during the planning process. When the work began, they made slight modifications to the plan which allowed us to better utilize our space. The electrician worked with us to place extra outlets for our TV. They also upgraded the lighting to daylight LEDs for a small added cost. They also have a great payment plan -- payments are spaced out over the course of work. Since this was our 1st basement project, we were really concerned about customizing the basement for our family needs. This company really helped. I really don't have any complaints and would recommend you consider them. Note: it can take a couple months for the work to be finished. The same team does not complete everything. Instead, they hire teams of contractors for specific tasks (installing the wood frame, electrical wiring, painting, etc.)

We used The Basic Basement to finish our basement and we are very satisfied with the finished product. The staff were professional, answered all my questions promptly, and they always did exactly what they said they would do. I would highly recommend this company and I'll definitely be using them again for future projects.
