Basic Basement just completed my unfinished basement. I couldn't be happier with the results. The costs were reasonable and the results exceptional. Even though you lose use of your basement during construction; they make it as pain-free as possible. I just left them a key to my house & they did their thing. Everyone from Basic Basement was highly professional. The Design Consultant was expert in schematics & designing the basement. The framing guys were expert in framing. The dry wall guys were expert in dry walls, etc...

It was obvious that the man they sent knew everything about room construction, plumbing and floors, and had many years of experience doing this kind of work. The quality of his workmanship was absolutely top notch as was the materials provided by the company. We used a vanity provided by another firm due to its custom size, and it was carefully installed. The bathroom looks absolutely beautiful. This is a great value for the money. They receive my highest recommendation.

If you think you are going to pay $9999 for 800 sq.ft. basement, well, think again. Our BASIC 840 sq.ft. basement estimate came out to be over 19K - and this is without painting and floor. All we wanted is perimeter walls and 3 doors, no bathroom, no wet bar - nothing fancy, just the basics. They threw in a ton of extra electrical work that my husband (a retired electrician) told them was absolutely not needed. They were implying that our linear footage exceeds the limit, and that's why the cost of materials grows significantly. Be prepare for a lot of "false necessities" being thrown to your estimate. One word of advice - before you call for ANY estimates do your own floor plan, then take it to Lowe's or Home Depot, and they will help you to calculate the cost of materials. This is what we did, and this is why none of contractors estimate sounded fair to us. They were all doubling the price for materials, and tripling the cost of labor. Do whatever you can yourself, and hire a subcontractor to do what you can't. This is what we did.

The workers were wonderful. The kitchen looks great. From our first visit with Dominick we knew he was going to be the one we pick. We shopped around, not to jump into the first est. No one came near the price, or listened to our needs. As it got close to starting the job my husband and I got nervous.Did going with the cheaper price mean low quality. NOT AT ALL!!!!! Every step was high on workmanship and quality. Thank you

I am so happy that I chose The Basic Basement Co. to finish my basement. Their cost was extremely reasonable compared to others and the work quality is excellent. Project manager was experienced professional and explained all details of work being done. I love quality of work done by The basic basement co. I would definitely recommend to others for basement projects.

The Basic Basement Company was wonderful to work with! The completed the job, in great quality, within the time and absolutely no surprises. Whats more, they also worked with us to paint and did a great job. Special mention for Gail, she was a complete delight and always knew the schedule and everything regarding our project.

How did it go? In a word, incredibly well, and we will absolutely use them again. We spoke to five different contractors during our selection process. What made this company stand out is they first showed up prepared, and their actions immediately spoke louder than words. We met on a Saturday, discussed kitchen/powder room options, bounced ideas, saw samples. They called their electrician to come on Sunday morning to give their input...on Sunday! He was there at 9:00am. We had the quote within 24 hours, not 2 weeks or not at all, as did other contractors we've had the misfortune of meeting. Everything they said they would do they did. They kept everything on schedule, and properly set our expectations as to when they would start and when they would finish. Very friendly, professional, no nonsense crews were there to get it done. And they did. The whole kitchen and powder rooms were completely gutted, new cabinets, lighting, vanities and tile were put in, all new appliances installed. Any issues that we found were immediately corrected. Everything came out gorgeous! They hauled away what they demolished, cleaned up after themselves, and through it all were incredibly patient with us and our million questions and "what-ifs". We absolutely made the right choice selecting this company and will definitely use them again!

They did a phenomonal job. Since they did such a great job on the basement we will be using them for a bathroom remodel. They were very easy to work with and I could not be more pleased. I would use them again if I still lived in the area and highly recommend them.

I used them on a previous job and was so impressed I had to use them again. To no surprise they did a phenomenol job again with the bathroom. I am so pleased with their work and service that I would have used them to remodel the kitchen but I ended up selling the house and moving before I could do this work.

It was a very bumpy ride with The Basic Bathroom Co. Most of the issues stemmed from outside vendors they use. 1. Our granite sink top was cut incorrectly 4 times! Even now the sink is still not centered in the granite. 2. The granite back splash is roughly 5 shades darker than the sink granite. 3. The faucet is not centered with drain. 4. Bullnose tile is a slightly different color from the regular tile. Gail and a Jim provided great customer service. I honestly do believe if I wanted these issues fixed they would do it. It's just a matter of I'm sick of having an incomplete bathroom and settle for it as is. I highly recommend to buy all of your own materials and not use theirs. It caused nothing but headaches and major delays.

It simply was excellent. Right from the beginning, Basic Basement was so professional that I have not observed in any other provider so far. They send the best possible workers in each area. They are so fast that it is unbelievable how they can achieve so much in such a short time. The time is basically consumed in Township approvals but Basic Basement arranges everything. Basic Basement did such a good job that there was not a single approval failure (There were 6 approvals altogether). I want to name one person as that person makes such a big difference to a customer. That person's name is Gail. You can tell her anything that bothers you and she will solve. She is not tired and will always return your call if you could not get her on line. She must be very busy as this company does most of the basement work. Considering all these superior service and quality, their price is excellent. My only complaint would be that I have to hire someone else for flooring. I wish Basic Basement also did the flooring part but they feel that we can get it done cheaper outside. So, in a way they want to keep customer's budget better. But for me, a single point of contact would have been easier. Now I am getting the flooring done by Home Depot. So this is my only suggestion to Basic Basement to also offer the flooring as optional service. But truly, what you get out of this company is best you can get.

The project went extremely well. Timeline was on schedule and estimates in time and expense matched expectations. Gail was a great help throughout the project providing answers, scheduling inspections and contacting the team with concerns and correcting them. All teams were professional and courteous and left the space clean and functional. Final product exceeded our expectations! Pricing worked as advertised. They offer a basic basement for $9999 that includes a basic package. Any upgrades are additional and fairly priced. They recommended sheet-rock ceilings over drop and we were very happy with the result. It gave us higher ceilings and a much cleaner finished look.

Everything went very well. The only part of the business model I disagree with is that they order the supplies from Home Depot and have them drop it off at my house. The drywall would sit outside for days and get wet. Otherwise, I was happy with the process.

We chose Basic Basement Co. based upon the great reviews that were posted about them on Angie's List as well as (what appeared to be) the incredibly affordable prices that were quoted there. Upon requesting an estimate, they sent out an extremely friendly and knowledgeable associate who measured the bathroom, found out exactly what we wanted, & explained our options. We were quoted a very reasonable price which fell well within our budget. The price included everything except for the items to be installed...the toilet, sink, tile, lights, fixtures, etc. (although they did provide the tub). We chose to purchase those items ourselves & they gave us a detailed list telling us what (and how much) we needed to purchase before they began. They provided the construction material...drywall, insulation, etc. We were also pleased that they were able to work with our schedule & were able to start & finish the project before the beginning of the new school year. The project supervisor arrived promptly on the first day & introduced us to the two men who were doing the demolition that day. After Day 1, another man took over the project & (except for the electrical) he did everything. He was a pleasure to work with. He obviously loved his job & was phenomenal at it. He consulted us on any style options & was willing to give his opinion (which, more often than not, we went with & were happy we did). He arrived on time every day & cleaned up after himself every night. At the end of the job, he even gave us tips on how to maintain the bathroom. We are extremely happy with the end result. Our experience with Basic Basement Co. was exceptional. I didn't think it was possible to get such professional results at such an affordable price. I will definitely be using them again when we finish our basement.

We are very happy with the quality of work by Basic Basement. I selected them on the basis of Angie's List reviews. Dominic gave the best estimate and Gail saw it through. I give very high marks to Gail. She is very knowledgeable and responsive. The crew always arrived on time. The project completed exactly as planned. Inspection was a breeze. We got a great finished basement within the time and budget we had planned. After 4 months, everything still looks and feels great.

They did a great job and the price was very reasonable.

I couldn't be happier with the results. The quality was outstanding. The pieces of advice we received throughout made all of the difference in the final result. The demolition started on 7/15 and the project was done in time for our Labor Day party. The kitchen was demolished to the studs including removal of a wall and built back up including cabinets, appliance installs, quartz countertops, completely upgraded electrical and some reconfiguration of the plumbing. The workers were professional and produced high quality results.

We have been very impressed by the quality of the service we received from this company. We engaged with them to finish our basement. We had a tight timeline - wanted to get it completed before the schools re-opened. We were nervous about the whole process since there are a lot of parts and we were also required to get a permit. The company guided us step-by-step through the process. They set the right expectations and followed the plan to utmost satisfaction. The contractors were punctual and spent long hours to get the work done with causing least disturbance to us. If we ever need to finish our basement again, this is the company we would go with. We highly recommend the Basic Basement Co. for anybody's basement job. Currently happy owners of a cheerful basement. The only thing the company does not do is flooring and paint job which we have also highly recommended them to do as well to complete the package. THANK YOU.

I was very pleased with the initial consultation and all of the work that was done. The 2 best aspects of the project were the affordability and the ease and dependability of the work schedule. At the initial consultation, many details were covered that I would not have thought of myself. Dan, the representative, knew the rules for permits in my community and was able to advise me accordingly. Since budget was an issue for me, I was glad to have alternatives presented to keep costs down where that made sense, or to spend a little more for a true advantage (such as 'green board' for mold resistant walls.) At each step of the way, the scheduling was dependable. There were different workers for each task. It seemed that each group was a specialist in the particular task, so the work was done quickly and efficiently. Having a project manager at the office that I could contact for scheduling and questions was a great help. (Thanks, Gail!) One little side note: The spackling and sanding group showed up very early (before 7:00 am one morning) so be prepared! Most others arrive between 8:00 and 9:00 am. When all of the work was done, I was given a walk through by Rick, the project foreman, and was able to get questions answered, as well as have a few odds and ends addressed to make the job perfect. The final payment was not required until I was completely satisfied that everything was done. I believe by specializing in a particular type of project, the company has found a way to organize, schedule, order materials, and hire workers that allows for a streamlined operation that makes the work affordable. I had been given an estimate by a general contractor that was considerably higher before finding The Basic Basement Co. I definitely recommend using this company.

BBC worked around our schedule and all crews arrived at on time. They got down to work (no lollygagging) and they kept the work area clean. Once the crews completed their task, they placed the rubbish outside our garage for pickup. The crews were VERY careful not to damage any parts of the house as they were traveling through. This would not be an honest review if I didn?t mention the (little) mishaps. Our mishaps were so small I hate mention it but when I read reviews I?m skeptical about the ones that didn?t encounter any issues. Mishap 1: We wanted a cutout down the stairway wall. The framers performed the cutout but not as designed. Unfortunately it was discovered that we have a support beam which prevented us from the full cutout. We emailed Gail to request they close it, she understood our dilemma and she had them close it up without any hesitation. Mishap 2: Because of an oversight on our BBC proposal, we opted to have the cable installed ourselves. My husband was supposed to have it completed before the sheetrock was installed. But he forgot (MEN!). So our cable installers had to cut holes in the newly installed sheetrock to run the lines. We emailed Gail, again she understood and had the sheet rockers patch up holes without hesitation. Mishap 3: The material was delivered to our driveway and Mother Nature called with a very stormy night. To say the least most of the material was damaged. We emailed Gail at 8pm (afterhours for her) and she quickly responded that they will take care of it. The carpenter showed an hour early the following morning to replace the damaged material. See little mishaps (on us as well) that was addressed quickly. BBC is a well-organized and ran company. I know this was stated in other reviews but Gail is an EXCELLENT project coordinator. We had Worldwide Flooring (Edison, NJ) install our laminate floors at a discount because of our business with BBC. With the discount, the quote was far less than other flooring companies. The finished product for both BBC and Worldwide is all that we imagined. The workmanship is perfect. Very clean cuts (no uneven walls or floors) and the fixtures are neatly installed. We couldn?t be more satisfied with the work by all. We are so pleased that we are contracting Basic Kitchen and Bathrooms for those projects.

I am extremely happy that I went with the Basic Bathroom Co. to have my bathroom renovated. I have attached some before and after pictures. I must first say how extremely helpful Gail was. She offered me assistance and suggestions throughout the process. We were able to get an faster appointment due to a cancellation and I would not have made it in time without her help. Gail is such an asset to this company. Ralph and his partner did a fantastic job. Ralph provided suggestions for things I hadn't thought of and even fixed a couple extra things for me. My mother even said remember Ralph's name to see if you could request him again for future jobs. And my house was so clean during the project. They completed my bathroom in only 3 days! I would highly recommend this company.

We are very satisfied. Even my town inspector came and did an inspection, they said they did a very good job. They did the work in the specified time.

Overall I loved the professionalism. Their were no surprises. The project manager managed the project smoothly. It's been 1 year since the basement is finished and I have nothing but praises for the work performed.

Our experience with Basic Basement Company was extremely pleasant and enjoyable. Our estimator Todd gave us a fair quote, and never pressured us to upgrade beyond our means. We decided on our own to add in a full bath based on the reasonable rate that was quoted to include in the package. All of the crews from the framers, electrical, plumbing, drywall, and carpentry were highly skilled, very friendly, and expert craftsman. I did not have to arrange any sub-contracting on my own as this was all provided as part of the service package. Basic Basement arranged for all of the mid-way and final town inspections to make sure everything was up to code and given the final seal of approval. My painting contractor made several comments about what an incredible job the framing and drywall crews did with the tight seams and perfectly straight corners. Although our project manager Curtis was very helpful and pleasant, I dealt mostly with Gail Torrelio, the head coordinator. Gail is fantastic, and was always quick to reply and answer questions no matter the time of day. The finished product was well worth the wait and beyond our best expectations. We now have a lovely new livable space with plenty of storage going forward. I would recommend this company without hesitation to anyone looking for a basement renovation project.
