Preferred Contracting Roofing & Siding

I used Angi to find Preferred NJ to replace one piece of vinyl siding that was too high for me to reach. Their price was reasonable I guess at $200 since the first “instant estimate” from some person was $1200. It was fixed in about 30 minutes. While they were here, the lead guy, Dennis, said that my pavers needed to be Re sanded even though they are only 7 years old and that he could do it for $1500. I told him that sounded like a lot and he said it would take a day and a half so I agreed. He came today at 10AM with his helper. At 2PM the job was done. Dennis left around 10:30 or 11 and left his worker to do the work. When I complained about the price and that I agreed to it because he misrepresented the amount of work he gave me some gibberish about needing 7 buckets of sand and his $1500 price was discounted. I’m done with Preferred NJ and I couldn’t be more angry because of being “taken” by this disreputable company.

Ron is very knowledgeable and professional. He came out on a Sunday (not a day he typically works) but he went out of his way to meet me at my beach house to look at the problem I'm having. So far he has only diagnosed the problem and given an estimate. Just based on his manner of doing business I would strongly recommend him.

They were great and very professional! They were very responsive and came out right away. After the work was done they showed me what was done and I was totally satisfied. I haven't had a leak since.

Called Preferred Contracting as he as a roofer also does repairs, most outfits just want to do a whole roof. Called Ron in the morning and he was here that afternoon. Checked both the exterior of the roof and also went in the attic to check for leaks and rotten wood. He was very thorough. Found things not obvious to me but pointed out problems that after his trained eye and experience were then obvious to me. He showed up to do the work when he said he would and only heavy rain two days put off finishing the job. As soon as the rain was over he was up on the roof getting the job done. Also cleanup was done promptly and never left any mess behind, I would have no qualms about referring him to friends and family. He is a standup guy.

After some false starts due to weather, they finally were able to start and finish quickly. Ron and his crew are very professional, neat workers, leaving no mess behind. Ron did everything he said he would in the contract and there were no surprise "extras". After getting 3 estimates his was actually the best and he was not trying to sell more work than needed. Can recommend this company with no problem.

Very personable service, on time and on budget. Although a small repair, they also suggested better ways to get the job done with better quality.

The estimator who came out was a nice guy and was friendly, but his estimate was a little high. I didn’t use their services to get the work done. They were very professional. They tried to be complying and helpful. I would consider using them again in the future.

Did the work in a timely manner and was very responsive. He was also able to fit me in on a Saturday to complete the work.
