Description of Work: I did not get any response from Handyman Connection even though I provided Cell Phone and e-mail. Also their phone # was always busy

Description of Work: I will not recommend this company to anyone - their handymen are not very skilled, don't communicate their approach before proceeding to make irreversible changes and don't produce good quality work (even painting - missing very visible places). Half of the work done left my house worse off than it was before they started. | |A bunch of odd jobs around the house: paint the fence, build a crawl space door, put moldings on door and paint, fill in patches of paint, repair outside wood gate. | |The quote was pretty high for 4 jobs that could have been done in 2 days at most. We were in a bind to list the house so committed to it. I was not impressed with the quality of work from the beginning. Because the handyman kept going back and forth between tasks, I always felt that the work was still in progress till the final day when he said it's all done and most of his work appeared unsatisfactory. | |I called to owner to ask if that was the expected quality and he could only accommodate a visit one week later. I showed him the problems and he fixed a coupl of them (the gate latch was put in the wrong way causing the gate to not open properly) but he could not fix the rest. | |He suggested deducting a certain amount and I disagreed stating that his original quote was high and as such I should be refunded the originally quoted amount for the job. I talked to the handyman directly and he was not open to any amount being refunded to me as he felt the work was done correctly.

Description of Work: Needed my cabinet adjusted to fit a new refrigerator, The serviceman was neat, prompt, and professional. Did his best to make the cabinet as nice a possible. Was very pleased the owner was able to send the right man for the job and very promptly as well.

Description of Work: Handyman Connection puts you in contact with a professional who they feel would be qualified to complete the job you have available. Handyman Connection sent one young man over who had no car and needed to be driven around by someone else. This man never called back. The next person they sent over came to our house, took some floor tiles to see if he could match them up and never called or came back either. We called Handyman Connection a few times to see what was going on. Handyman Connection never called us back to explain what, if anything, was the problem. After approximately 1-2 wks., provider #2 called back to say he had a family emergency (very understandable) and would come to return the tiles he had taken. He never did. I do certainly understand family emergencies. I do not understand why this man or Handyman Connection could not at least have called us back and let us know what was going on. I don't find this very responsible.

Description of Work: A's across the board! Handyman Connection is excellent. I will definitely be using their services again. Our assigned handyman arrived on time--actually a few minutes early and he over delivered on our expectations! We were very pleased with the work done.It was such a relief to have a few small but nagging things done in our apartment! I'm so grateful. I wish I had done this sooner! We had our table fixed. Two wheels had fallen off. We also had blinds installed in the bedroom. It's amazing how difficult this can be especially in the older pre-ww2 buildings. He also repaired the two stools that go with our table! I can now work comfortably and we enjoy dinner again, like REAL human beings, at our table! He even went out to a hardware store to get 4 larger sized nuts/screws inorder to repair the stools!!! This was completely unexpected and much appreciated! Again, it's the small things that really matter in your quality of life. You can't really put a price on that. Again, many thanks to Handlyman Connection!

Description of Work: Haven't used these guys in a while, but was very happy with them and will use them again. They maintain a roster of independent skilled people in most home services. They send the appropriate guy around, and you negotiate with them. You pay the referral service, Handyman Connection, which takes its cut and passes the rest on to the workman. They often have good, knowledgeable advice about your problem before they refer a tradesman that can be helpful in deciding what to do or even whether to do it. I've used them for drywall repair and electrical installation, and would use them again.

Description of Work: I spoke with Handyman Connection today and they showed up same day. Bill Little was very professional and showed up on time. He came to hang a heavy mirror/frame on the wall. Did a great job and was very diligent to make sure the mirror was level and even with the couch. Excellent work and looking forward to working again with Bill

Description of Work: Handyman Ted D. came out and gave us an estimate and then returned at a later date to perform the work. Ted did several small projects for me. He did a good job on all of them and was courteous and professional. He hung a chandelier and installed dimmers. He also aligned cabinet doors, shaved a wooden door, and tightened molding and railings.

Description of Work: I contacted them to find out about having a dishwasher moved and some cabinetry repaired. I received a prompt reply with the suggestion to contact the original dishwasher installer - turned out that was the best suggestion! I had a warranty (that I didn't realize I had) and the installers came out and fixed the issue. I was able to fix the cabinet drawer issue myself. So, in the end, they did no work for me, BUT the quick reply and honesty saved me money.... What more can you ask in these times?

Description of Work: Turns out that the 'handyman' is really a referral service. The work I needed was rather simple, do-it-yourself fixes (install a chandelier, attach a hinged cabinet door, open a clogged water pipe, etc) that did not require specific expertise in any one field. I anticipated a fixed price arrangement to have the work done after estimating the total hours and materials required. Instead, the handyman service intended to send individuals to my home over a period of a few days, each one negotiating separately with me as to the cost of his service. The first guy showed up to look at the hot water piping and stated he needed to call a friend, then left but called later wanting to hang the cabinet door - for $125. Not at all what I expected and I declined. (The next day, another fellow we had for measuring a glass table top offered to (and did) hang the door for nothing - even bought the screws himself!). Maybe I expected too much - I just want a guy to tell me he could do the work in so many hours with material costing so much, and lets negotiate a fixed price. Sure didn't want three guys coming by over a period of days, each one trying to see how much he could scam - Oh, well...
