Need A Handyman Service, LLC

When I called for an estimate, Bill promptly returned my call and a date was scheduled for Bob to come out to see the job. An estimate was given and when I decided to use Need a Handyman, the proposal was signed and Bob went out of his way to work me into the schedule for the next week, trying to accommodate my vacation and return to work plans. Luckily, they were able to begin work sooner than expected. On the appointed day, right at 8:00 a.m., Bob and Billy arrived and immediately got to work. In a short time, they had the bathroom gutted. The dumpster arrived as scheduled. Every day proceeded smoothly beginning at 8:00 and working through until around 4 p.m. An added bonus was the daily Dunkin Donuts coffee that Billy treated me to. It was a pleasure having these men work in my house. They were prompt, hard-working, and professional and their bantering back and forth was amusing to listen to. It was obvious they not only worked well together, but enjoyed working with each other. All questions or concerns were promptly answered. I was sent to Bellmawr Plumbing Supply to pick out my vanity and toilet and fixtures. Mike was helpful and I placed the order. The work progressed from laying the tile to painting to installing new baseboards and doors, to installing the toilet. A plumber was only needed to move the plumbing to line up with the new vanity. Last to go in was the vanity. The cultured marble top was delayed, so when it came in, it was installed followed by the mirrors and lights. . I highly recommend Need a Handyman and will call them for future projects. My bathroom remodel is gorgeous and is now the nicest room in my house.

Things didn't go well at first in that we waited several months for the job to be done after giving a three hundred dollar deposit for the project. After a couple of calls my wife was told that there had been a death in Bill's family so we decided to go ahead with the project as delay seemed to be from a family crisis. Bill came and completed the job assigments sometime in September, after the July deposit had been given, and after looking over the job felt statisfied in his usual good workmanship. Asked my spouse to send him the remainder of the five hundred dollars due for the job. Received phone call back that taxes and cost of some painting supplies ( I had purchased the Polymeric Sand, Wood stain and Concrete Stain myself) had not been included in the estimate and that we owed almost $90 dollars above estimate that we had been given. Was disappointed about this as we had not been given a written estimate and worker who Bill sent to estimate our job never indicated that taxes and painting supplies had not been included in the price we were quoted. My spouse and I were put off by all of this as we felt we had gone out of our way to try to be understanding and flexible in all our dealings with Bill.

Bill is very professional and goes the extra mile to do a good job. He replaced an exterior door and storm door along with the exterior trim. I have used his services in the past and will continue to use him in the future.

We saw the favorable reports on the list. When he came out he offered several options, but didn't push any of them. We chose the wood, custom. The results were, to say the least, spectacular.It is rock solid and the wood grain is beautiful.Neighbors have come by to admire the workmanship. Then they were astonished at the price. The Handyman took the time to tell us how to care for the fine wood..Before he left we got him to measure for a new window for my wifes art studio.

He did a good job, and I would surely use him again!

I called about having a new door put in. Everything was done in a timely manner, and with professional results. I was given a choice of price points for the door, and then made my choice. The door is just perfect, and my only regret was that I waited so long to actually have the work done. I am now no longer fearing the cold weather, as the old door was not the proper fit for the opening. All work was completed and done to my satisfaction.

We contacted them to set up an appointment for an estimate. Bill promptly returned my call and I explained what we needed done. He told me that his partner Bob would get back to me the following day to set up an estimate. Bob did indeed call me the next day and we set up an appt for later that week. Bob came out and was very knowledgeable. He gave us his estimate and we called the next day to schedule the work to be done. Bill and Bob came out on 09/21/12 to start the work. By the end of the day they had the project about as complete as it could be. They had to come back to apply a few more coats of joint compound, which Bill came on Sunday and Monday. By Tuesday Bill and Bob both were back and completed the entire job. Overall this was as best of an experience than I could have ever hoped for. Both men were professional, polite, courteous and informative. I will be recommending them to my family and friends.

Bill was very up front about his schedule, he was booked for several weeks. But he started my job when he said he would. He explained the process so I knew what to expect. The work he did was excellent! He was only replacing the water damaged part of my ceiling, so it had to blend into the remaining ceiling. He really took a great deal of care to make sure that it was done correctly. He even delayed his vacation to make sure my job got done to the quality he expected of himself, which is very high! I couldn't recommend them enough. You can't go wrong in hiring Bill. He's worth the wait!

I feel sorry that I have to write a review like this, but I also know that it is my responsibility as an Angie?s List member to alert other members to what may be declining service on the part of this vendor. It does not matter that I am a part of a small percentage of people who experienced serious problems??I MUST report my individual experience in an open and honest way or I let the other members down, and so I write the following report: Unfortunately, my experience with this vendor was the worst that I have experienced since becoming a member of Angie?s list. The credentials and positive reviews looked promising to me, so I called them first before eventually looking for others to complete the work. My first call to them was on a Thursday after the 4th of July holiday 2012. I got the answering service and left a message. The response to my call came on the following Monday and the conversation was pleasant, the owner (Bill) apologized and explained that he was away for the holiday weekend, which is certainly understandable?..no problem so far. He then said that he would have someone name Bob contact me the following day (Tuesday, July 10th 2012). Bob then contacts me the next day, and everything went rapidly downhill from there. Bob measured for the rough opening on both my front and my back doors which I was looking to get replaced, and said that I could upgrade the existing 30 inch doors to 36 inches. He did not remove any of the moldings to arrive and these calculations, and he called someone in the office to give the door measurements. I then asked Bob if he could tell me about the $80 for 1 hour of handyman services which was advertised on the vendor's page, and if it could be applied to the job. He said he didn?t know anything about that, and that he would ask Bill about it and let me know. He then said that he would be back in touch with me. I waited day after day with no contact from anyone. I contacted the office several times to try to follow up with someone. It was one WEEK before anyone responded to me. Bob left a message on my answering machine saying how busy the company was installing sheetrock, and that also he needed to come to my house again to take off the moldings and measure again, which I thought should have been done in the first place. The guy that I eventually hired did that immediately, and told me that the maximum door I could have put in was 32 inches because of the placement of the studs. Bob also never answered my questions concerning the $80 for 1 hour of handyman services either. In conclusion I just want to say that I went to this company with high expectations and came away bitterly disappointed. Returning calls in a timely manner is a common courtesy, and as a business courtesy it is absolutely essential, otherwise it leaves the consumer ?twisting in the wind? wasting time and wondering. I only wish I had been given an opportunity to work with Bill instead of Bob, and perhaps events would not have occurred as they unfortunately did. I believe that at least in my case, Bob did a disservice to me, as well as to the company is was supposed to be representing.

Bill was prompt, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to deal with. The job came in on budget, everything was done competently and he was also able to work around our complicated schedule. I absolutely would use Bill again in the future.

He said that he was busy and wouldnt be able to complete the work for 3 or 4 weeks.

Overall the installation worked out great. Bill and I played phone tag for awhile but he was very understanding of my schedule and very responsive. I will definitely use him again in phase 2 of my flooring plans.

Bill is very professional. Always showed up on time or called immediately when running behind. Bill is an excellent communicator. Bill did 90% of the painting, and his partner Bob covered the other 10%. Bob was also very pleasant and professional. Their work is detailed from the prepping process to the finished painting process. I am very happy with their work. Bill is very conscientious. He never left a mess at the end of the day. Always cleaned up thoroughly. As the project went on, Bill was very easy to work with, and he worked well with my own schedule. When necessary, Bill would present different approaches with money saving options. Bill is always concerned about keeping your cost as low as possible. Another factor that was very important to us was that Bill was great with our dogs. We raise Seeing Eye puppies and Bill treated them just like any dog lover would appreciate! It was a pleasure having Bill around the house during the project. We will definitely hire Bill again.

Bill was great. He was very professional from start to finish. Always returned calls promptly and kept us informed of date for install of our new door. Measurements were perfect and also recommended where to purchase quality doors. Everything was perfect from start to finish and I would not hesistate to hire him again.

Great- Bill called me back right away. He was very nice, came on time and finished in 3.5 hours. He was very friendly, professional and even came on a Sunday morning and didn't charge me extra! I would recommend him to anyone and would definitely use him again.

He is a very personable, professional, and conscientious about the quality of his work. He did a great job. He was also very helpful with giving any needed advice about the type of materials and finish to use.

Charlie (the painter) showed up punctually every day. His work is impeccable! He was extra careful not to track in dirt and was very respectful to our home. He asked where he could wash his materials and cleaned up after himself each day. I felt comfortable leaving Charlie a key to let himself in and out. The final pain job turned out beautifully! He is a fantastic painter! Bill came back a couple weeks later after our door arrived to install. He had to stop back a week after that to adjust a minor problem but he was very responsive and extremely friendly. He always called back promptly. I will DEFINITELY used these guys again. I highly recommend them!

Bill was super and did an outstanding job. We especially liked that he was careful to tell us when he thought something didn't need to be done or done in a way that would save money. Very professional and all around nice guy.

He’s pretty busy, but he’s been very responsive so far, and very conscientious about returning my calls. The day he came over for the estimate, he called to let me know he would be a little late. Then he called again to me know when he was 15 minutes away. He never left me wondering.

I needed a replacement exterior door and called Bill. He was in the middle of another job, but as my exterior door, in the condition it was in could not be locked, he came over that day after he finished his day at the other job. He assessed the situation, provided me with what turned out to be a spot-on estimate, and ordered a new door right then. It took a bit longer for the door to come in than he expected. Rather than leaving me wondering, he called a couple of times to let me know the status of the door. The Saturday after the door came in, he and a another gentleman came exactly at the time they said they would and efficiently installed the door. Bill cut up and put out for trash pick-up all parts of the old door and swept the driveway. The door works perfectly. Bill was excellent to work with, price was reasonable and as stated above exactly as quoted, responsive to my first contact and kept in touch for the duration of the job. Would definitely use Need A Handyman again.

The job went very well. They were punctual and professional, and they were extremely careful with our furniture and carpets. This is the second time I have had them paint; the first time was before Christmas. Both times I have been very pleased with their work. This time there was a lot of prep work--lots of nail pops and cracks from the earthquake last year. Both Bill and Charley were fun to have around, very compatible in the way they work and joke with each other, and very polite and friendly with us. The price was definitely competitive.

Bill gave us an estimate and explained his routine and how the job should go.He does the carpentry/drywall repairs himself and turns the painting over to one of his associates. he always called the evening before to tell us when he would arrive the next day,he always arrived on time. We made doing the work more difficult by having a busy schedule,but Bill was willing to work with us and went the extra mile including working evenings to accommodate us. His painters were very professional and we were very pleased with the job.Bill helped us by doing extras such as hanging our handrail and putting up some decorations for my wife. Bill and his helpers always cleaned up after themselves and made sure when entering and exiting that our dogs didn't run out. I have recommended Bill to family and friends. He will be doing more work for me in the near future.

Bill was great, he picked up the parts came over and installed them. Great guy and great price, would definitely use him again.

Bill came and estimated the job and within two weeks all was repaired and the patches and cracks were completely invisible. I had decided to do the painting myself and that allowed me to see close up the quality of the job and it was outstanding.

After our shower door leaked, we decided to remodel the bathroom. Bill's price was very reasonable. He did an outstanding job tiling the floor and walls, installing the vanity,and installing the plumbing. He delivered more than we expected, and we used him later for another minor repair. We highly recommend him and will use him in the future.
