Description of Work: Repair a deck. Some of the repair was good. Used wrong wood to finish the top layer of the deck, painted the deck 6 hours before a severe rainfall causing all the deck paint to wash off. When I called him to tell him about the damage he never came over to look at it until ten days later had to be redone and all the top layer of wood warped. He never took responsibility for his mistakes.

Description of Work: Installed all new windows on the second floor of my house.

Description of Work: Fixed a damaged wall in my kitchen. Great Job. Came back repeatedly to make sure it was clean and smooth.

Description of Work: We've used Bill in the past at our old house and he did a lot of excellent work to prepare the house for sale. The moving company knocked over the mail box at the new house and he put it back together for us. The reason that we gave him a B for responsiveness was because he's very busy and he's very busy because he does fine work !

Description of Work: After using Need a Handyman to remodel my bathroom and build a deck, I had no reservations calling Bill to replace a large window in my family room and a door leading into the garage, I could on and on about his punctuality and workmanship but when it comes down to it. I trust him. When you save up to improve your house, knowing that he is going to care about the finished product just as much as you will is priceless. He does everything he can to insure that you get your money 's worth.He's worked on three projects at our house and I have no doubt we will use him again in the future

Description of Work: This is the second time I have used Bill to do work in my home. This time I had a bathroom gutted (except the tub) & had the floor ceramic titled, a new vanity & toilet installed & the room painted. Another bathroom had a vanity & toilet installed. Once again, he did an excellent job, quoted the job correctly & finished the job in a timely manner. I have referred him to friends & family, who have also hired him for work in their homes. I will continue to use him in the future.

Description of Work: Bill and Bob arrived at our home this morning bright and early as promised. They installed crown molding in our bedroom....an absolutely beautiful job. The big project was the kitchen, where they removed the microwave oven, retiled the back splash, replaced a cabinet which was originally over the oven and then reinstalled the microwave oven. It was a perfect job. Both fellows were truly gentlemen, neat in their work, cleaned up perfectly and all accomplished at the very fair price which was quoted. Both my husband and I felt these fellows were very talented, honest, and neat in their work. I would definetely have them back to do work in our home and I highly reccomend their services. They are truly professionals.

Description of Work: I want to start out by saying this report is way overdue. The work I had done was completed last fall. My experience with Need A Handyman (Bill) was exceptional. I found this company on Angie's List and was very impressed with the positive feedback. I originally hired Bill to remove wallpaper from my kitchen and 2 bathrooms. I also needed him to paint these rooms in addition to the up & downstairs hallways. As with any remodeling project, he experienced some roadblocks. Bill, had a solution and was willing to add on this additional work. After completion, I noticed some additional projects that I wanted done. I asked Bill if he would bid the work and without pause he did. My next project was to install a hardwood floor in the kitchen and a vanity in the bathroom. The floor came out fabulously. I couldn't have asked for a better job. Bill does exceptional work, is reliable, stands behind his work. He always has a solution to any problem. I plan to hire him again this year

Description of Work: Bill replaced all 15 of our windows including measuring and ordering materials and also our doors. He fit us into his schedule which wasn't easy for such a daunting task but it turned out beautifully. He also brought on board a painter to paint our exterior which was also wonderful. Bill as always, did extras such as shutters, bracing a cabinet that was installed incorrectly and many other such things. We will always use him in the future.

Description of Work: Although the person who came out to my home seemed like a nice individual, he was not able to do much of the work that I wanted him to quote but he was honest about several of the potential tasks being out of his confort zone. However, he did promise to provide me with a quote on a rear wood deck replacement that he said he "could" do, but I never heard back from him.

Description of Work: Bill did a wonderful job removing a soffitt over my bathroom sink, installing a new faucet, putting down new trim, putting down new luan over part of the subfloor, and installing prewired light fixtures in my bathroom. I did some of the work in the bathroom myself (painting, putting down a sticky tile floor), and he made it easy to coordinate my schedule and his schedule. During the process, he discovered a leak under my sink, recommended a plumber (who came the same day), and called to make sure that their work was satisfactory. As a bonus, he reattached a piece of siding at no cost prior to Hurricane Irene! It was a pleasure working with Bill. I would use his services again and would highly recommend him.

Description of Work: Bill removed an existing closet ,repaired and spackled the wall. When he was finished it looked like a closet was never there. I didn't need bill to paint since my husband & I would do it. Bill did a great job, he was very professional and we would certainly recommend him and should we need any other work we will be calling him.

Description of Work: Bill had just returned from vacation and we had an emergency job for a back door and storm door replacement after a robbery. He thankfully fit us in his schedule and the doors he ordered are absolutely beautiful. He and Bobby did a wonderful job. I know that they are quite busy so we will plan much more in advance for the next project(Siding and Windows).

Description of Work: bill seems like a good handy,an that takes pride in his work. he hasn't been reliable though. trying to give him every chance, I had to hunt him down more than once to get him out for an estimate. he finally made it, promised to get back to me after he returned from vacation, but hasn't yet. I give up. try him, if he is responsive for you great, but my experience is that if he is busy, your location isn't convenient or your project uninteresting, you will struggle with follow-up.

Description of Work: Bill has done numerous things in my home ranging from simpple repairs to major - I have never been disappointed in his responsiveness, service - always excellent outcomes. Bill is my 'go to man' whenever I need an extra hand.

Description of Work: Interior painting, throughout the house... bedrooms, closets, bathrooms, kitchen, living room and trim work. Also lots of cosmetic work...caulking, resetting doors, installing bathroom hardware, new toilet, new light fixtures, new outlets. Bill Mardsen is an absolute goldmine, positively wonderful. His work is efficient, high quality and he is willing to work with you, Just give him a list of jobs, big and small, and he will methodically complete each one, always asking if you are satisfied with his work. Best of all, he is even tolerant of last minute "change of mind" decisions, always cooperative and professional. Nothing phases him. He always remains pleasant and focused on getting the job done. His initial estimate was right on target so there were no surprises. He is well worth waiting for. I highly recommend him.
