J. Canabe Painting was very responsive from the beginning. They answered my call quickly and scheduled an estimate in a few days time. Jimmy came out to give us the estimate and was thorough in understanding our needs and what mattered to us. The crew showed up on time the first day and every day after and they worked diligently for approximately a weeks time. We had pre-selected several paint colors, but needed help matching the colors in a few rooms as we didn't have any extra paint leftover from the original owners. This was not an issue and Jimmy's team did an excellent job in matching these colors. Upon completion of the job, I was instructed to call Jimmy if I found any items that I needed to have addressed after the crew was done. I did find a few small items that I wanted corrected and Jimmy sent two guys out the next day. Overall I am very satisfied with the work done by Jimmy Canabe painting. They were professional and courteous and I would gladly use them again.

Jimmy, was professional and friendly, met me at the apartment the morning of the job. Walked me through what they were going to do, introduced me to his team, who were all dressed professionally and very friendly. They finished the apartment in one day so we could move in the next. I would highly recommend this company.

Excellent experience from the initial phone call through the estimate to the completion of the job. Painting crew of three was sent in. They were very courteous, clean and punctual. All work was performed for the price quoted and within the estimated time frame. The painting itself was excellent.

Beyond my most hopeful expectations! In both cases, they responded within MINUTES of receiving my initial request. Scheduled an estimate immediately. Showed up promptly and ON TIME for the walkthru for an estimate. In less than 48 hours, as promised, they emailed me a pdf of the estimate detailing the work to be done and the duration and the cost and the way the payment would be split (10% up front; the rest upon completion)Then once we agreed on the work and the estimate, they mailed me 2 hard copies of the signed work order for me to countersign along with a form to fill out detailing the type and color of paint desired for each room. We easily agreed on a start date and they actually showed up on the correct date at the agreed upon time. Neat, clean, professional, polite, and ready to work. They didn't take time out to get supplies, or lunch, or cigarettes, etc. They came and they did the work they had agreed to do. They moved all the furniture and such; covered everything; cleaned up at the end of each day. And put everything back the way it was and cleaned up very well at the end. For the first time, on the first day, I stayed home just in case...but it was soon abundantly clear that they were focused on the work and didn't need my supervision. After that, I left them alone in the house and went to work. This is the first time I have EVER done that with contractors. And the quality of their work was very high. Spackling and sanding was beautiful and thorough. Painting was excellent (seams, woodwork, doors, windows, ceilings, etc) Very few corrections. Everyone who has seen it has been impressed. And for once, I didn't have to argue about 2nd coats or missed areas, etc. First of all, they missed very little. And second of all, there was no argument, just a genuine intention to do a great job. They performed everything with a polite, professional attitude. Even their office staff was lovely to deal with. UPDATE: 2015. Since this review, I've recommended them to 2 more people both of whom used them and were completely satisfied.

We had a company in previously to repair water damage from Hurrican Irene that really took advantage of me and treated me very rudely. They didn't do what was agreed upon and didn't do a good job with what they did. Jimmy came in really helped me out. He gave me a fantastic itemized estimate that he stuck to. He was very nice and gracious through the whole thing. He was also very concerned about my physical health throughout the process. His crew was the same; they were wonderful people to have around the house. They were polite and nice people to have around. They did a beautiful job. He's very honest. He was also really helpful in choosing colors.

They showed up as planned. Everything in the area to be painted was covered with drop cloths (clean!) and it was sealed off so that the dust from the spackle sanding didn't permeate the house. The walls were well prepped and the painting was neat, and smooth. The painter was polite. courteous and professional - and the owner showed up with a box of Godiva chocolates for me part way through the day to help relieve the stress of moving!! A thoroughly delightful experience...

Found J. Canabe's Painting via Angie's list and asked for a quote since he had many "A's" in his report and was not too far from the work location. Mr. Canabe was on time for his appointment to view the work, timely with his estimate, which was competitive, and very flexible with our schedule, considering we were living in the house while the painting was on-going. The crew arrived each day on time and ready to work. They set about their job with cordial good cheer and enthusiasm. They were all personable, competent, and respectful of both our home and things. The work was flawless. I found dealing with J. Canabe's Painting, from start to finish, a pleasure, be it with Mr. Canabe or any of his workers. The highest recommendation I can give is that I'd use him again as a painting contractor in a heartbeat.

It went very well. The painters showed up between 8:15 for all 3 days, they were clean, neat and polite, moved all furniture and put them back when they were finished. They left the house neat every night, worked consistently, only took short lunch break. They were great.

The entire process was great. I found Jimmy Canabe on Angie's list on October 11, 2011. That morning I called him and left a message stating my intended project. Jimmy called me back within 2 hours. We then planned a time to meet four days later in order for him to see the apartment and give me and my husband an estimate. Originally, I only wanted to paint the three bedrooms & the family room. Jimmy gave us an estimate and also helped us in picking out colors for the different rooms. After hearing the initial estimate of $1750 I became more curious how much it would cost to paint the entire apartment. I then decided to just have two of the bedrooms painted and the bathrooms painted instead. Jimmy started the project three days later on time as planned. I stopped by later that day to check in on the project and was very excited to see how great it was coming along. The next day, I called Jimmy and explained that I would really like the whole apartment painted. We agreed on the price of $2450. Also, Jimmy explained this would probably only delay the project being finished by a day or so. Two days later the entire apartment was finished. Initially we paid Jimmy $500.00 to start the project. When we came for the walk-thru we met Jimmy's brother (Fernando?) and paid him the final payment. Jimmy's brother was also very nice and professional. Jimmy used Benjamin Moore paints and I love the look of all of the rooms. I think Jimmy has a talent for picking out great colors once you tell him what look you are trying to go for. The only room I'm not over the moon about is the one in which I went with my own color choice instead of the one Jimmy recommended. I still like the finished look but I have a feeling Jimmy's pick would have looked a little better. I can recommend J. Canabe Painting without reserve. I would absolutely use this company again in the future if I have any other painting needs.

They did a great job. They were very easy to work it, and were also very respectful.

We were on a tight schedule to get things started and Jimmy was exceptional in his response time and communication. His guys showed up the next day and began working on the wallpaper removal. They were quick, efficient, extremely helpful, and cleaned up appropriately. We kept adding to the job and Jimmy was accommodating with our requests. The work was terrific. He used No VOC paint at our request. The painting is even, the colors great, and he even left the remaining paint for us to use for touch-ups, as needed. The pricing seemed a little high but we were in a rush to get things done. We didn't have an opportunity to get multiple quotes.We will definitely consider J Canabe's Painting for future jobs.

We had a very short timeframe to get the painting done because we were moving in the following week. Jimmy came by for the estimate the day after I called, was extremely professional and wanted to be very clear on my expectations. I did get estimates from other painters/contractors, but really thought that Jimmy seemed the most responsive and capable. They started within a few days, which was great. Miguel and Ever (the crew) arrived on time or early every single appointment. The work was excellent and they were professional throughout. They cleaned up the area, paid attention to the little details and were overall very pleasant. Jimmy would call periodically to make sure that everything was working ok. They even finished 2 of the rooms a WEEK earlier than the deadline that I gave them (half of the rooms needed to be finished by 6/24, the other half by 6/30. Everything was done by 6/23.) I will DEFINITELY use them again if we have any upcoming projects. Jimmy also gave me a nice thank-you gift and follow-up card, which I thought was a nice touch. I was also able to use the 5% Angie's list coupon. Their work is excellent and everyone has commented on how wonderful the interior of the house looks.

I have been living in my home for 15 years. Fourteen years ago I had all the interior rooms and hallways painted by a local painter. My home was built in 1929 so as with many older homes a fresh coat of paint can do wonders making it welcoming and looking clean. Over the following years I would do paint touch ups when time would permit but with a very busy work schedule and other priorities taking precedence over painting my home was starting to scream ?PAINT ME?! Being that I operate a home business with clients in and out, I truly needed to spruce the place up and get it back to that fresh look that was now lost with markings and smudges that just naturally occur in any house. Having met Jimmy Canabe several times via a business networking group and being very impressed with his obvious professionalism at those meetings, I contacted him. I requested that he give me an estimate on certain areas of my house to tackle first as I needed to be budget conscious and noted that the balance of needed painting we would target for the Spring. Jimmy arrived at my home, clipboard in hand, and observed the work to be done. We set up a priority of rooms to be painted and those that would not be included. I got a very reasonable estimate and within a week his brother Fernando arrived to begin the work. After reviewing the rooms to be done, Fernando pointed out some areas where existing spots or drips of old paint were on a couple of doors or floors just to insure when their work was done, I would know that it was not their work that had left those paint spots. He determined the order of moving furniture, preparing the walls and ceilings, sanding and finally the painting. Well, this company knows their business. Fernando?s work pattern was methodical and filled with perfection. It was so impressive that I ended up adding more work to be done and switched out some of the work that I had planned for now to be done in the Spring. I do think for most painting companies, changing this course of action would have thrown in a real monkey wrench into their schedule but not for the J. Canabe?s Painting Co. They have a motto of completing the job start to finish with no interruption. Well, they lived up to their motto and finished in record time. At the completion of all the work, they left my house in great order, vacuuming and placing furniture back to where it needed to be. The words professional, personable and a keen sense of integrity which is all part of their work ethic truly describes this company. You can?t ask for better results from another painting company. I mean it!! Come Spring?I?ll be calling them back and that?s for sure.

Again, working with Jimmy and his team- Miguel, his foreman, is awesome- was great. They worked quickly and meticulously. I really appreciated that they wanted to use quality paint, like Benjamin Moore. They were flexible and did what they needed to do scheduling-wise to accomodate my timing as well as working around other contractors coming and going. I knew I could trust them and in fact simply gave them a key and they would take point on letting in others, like my carpenter. The transformation of my house was amazing- and they clearly understand working on older homes. They made a couple of pretty ancient-looking bathrooms look 100% better and their attention to detail was great. I know I have control freak issues, especially when it comes to my first house, so for me to see Jimmy himself come back repeatedly to point out even the smallest flaw for his team to correct was reassuring and impressive. And that white banister? You've never seen natural wood shine like that- you'd never know it was ever painted! Especially now, after more experience with different vendors, I can truly appreciate the honesty and great work ethic of the J. Canabe team.
