work was done well - walk, stairs, grading, fence HOWEVER final section of fence and gate was not installed unfortunately I was naive enough to pay in full for the job before it was completed last 10% of job was left undone and SLS has shown no interest in finishing the work despite multiple texts and calls - all unreturned for over one month requested a refund for the uncompleted portion of the job - no response from SLS would not hire again - nonprofessional and unresponsive

They a good job of cleaning up back flower bed and trimming front evergreens.

They are pretty good. They are more economical and they do a good job.

Can not say enough good things about this company- We needed two trees removed- they made arrangements for the removal and the tree removal went well- these were two very old mature trees over the house which is a painstaking process- and they did a very good job Patio work- everything was set to go- and they discovered a sill plate problem- could not start the job- and needed a new plan - with the sill plate below ground even if it was repaired -still need a new plan They were already going to rergrade the patio area- but with the unexpected sill plate issue- they had to delay their job and develop a plan to redirect water away from the sill plate once the repair was complete- and they did it Great to work with- they could have laid the patio and ignored the sill plate issue- not their job- but they did identify it and it cost them time- and money_ they had a crew at our house to do the patio and had to call them off- until we could resolve the sill plate issue Also did our Fall cleanup -did a great job Would highly recommend them

SLS was fantastic and we have already begun to use their other services and refer them out. Henry was the designer/coordinator for the patio/pergola project and he was thoughtful, responsive, helpful and professional. He was open to input on the design, customized requests during the design process and flexible during the construction process. The work was scheduled in advance and the crew worked on our project straight through without taking any days off (expect the weekends). It was a large 5 person crew, very experienced, and high quality masonry work creating the rounded flowing curves of the patio and stone benches. They were especially talented laying the bluestone and fitting it to a natural look. We are very particular clients and were thrilled with the final result. They cleaned up well daily and raked out and seeded the lawn areas that were affected afterwards. It was a big project and exceeded our dreams - thank you SLS! We have since used them for mulching and were impressed with the value and results there too. Glad we found them on Angie's List.

Very rude and disrespectful . Maybe If I was a man he would have talked to me with more respect .

After receiving my quote, I contacted Henry and informed him that his quote was quite expensive from the previous year and if there was anything he could do in regards to the price. He asked me what I paid the previous year and said that he could do it for did the same price. I agreed and had the paver repair remove from my estimate because the previous designer had done the minor repairs for free as a courteous. The day of the job, the crew arrived on time and went right to work. The crew was very professional, courteous, and a pleasure to deal with. They performed tall the work and cleaned up after the work was done. After they left I noticed that one of the crew broke one of my landscape lights so I called SLS and they said they will have someone out to inspect and repair the next day. After a week, I called and told them that the light had not been repaired. After speaking with someone in the office, a repair date was scheduled and the repair was completed. During the whole time getting the repair scheduled and completed, they were courteous and apologetic for the damage to my landscape light. My wife and I were very satisfied with the job and repair. Although their prices are pricey, you get a job well done.

I met the gentleman at a home show and I asked him to come out and look at the landscape. It took a while before he finally called and showed up. He again told me he'd call with the information in a week. It was over a month ago and I've never heard from him. I called the guy back because I assumed that he wanted to do work. He was a nice guy but I just couldn't tell whether he really wanted to do it or he was just not interested. I wouldn't chase him down just to get an estimate.

Very happy with service. Serviced our lawn for the 2013 spring, summer, fall season. Left everything looking beautiful.

They were very professional and they sent a whole group of men out. None of the plants died so they knew what they were doing. They were professional and very clean. They cleaned up after themselves. Other than my gardens looking great, you would never have known they were here.

When they put down the sod it isn't even close to being similar to the grass that's in my yard. The workers were kinda slow. I did not find this company customer friendly. They also did not put down a weed barier to stop the grass and weeds from growing through.

Many delays in getting work done. Agreement signed on 5/8/13 included installation of a fence (for additonal money) which as of 8/19/13 is still not installed. Difficult to get return calls. I had to find another vendor.

Sam personally inspected the property and my son-in-law (active military with little time for home repair) pointed out the problem areas. One side of the property literally has a trench filled with water and Sam told him it would be gone. That water is a breeding ground for mosquitoes and our 2-year-old granddaughter can't even play in the back yard due to all the mosquitoes - major health hazard.The crew came out, dug the trenches by hand, no trench digger, and left. Every time it rains, the pop ups fly off and land in the yard. They are not fastened into the PVC elbows like they should be. Plus, the grate sits lower than the pipe, so how can the pipe possibly carry out all the water? The grate is at least 15 feet away from the problem area in the back yard, so it's useless as far as solving the largest issue we needed to solve. I had to call Sam three times before he returned my calls; when he called he said he had been out to inspect the problem and he put tape in the popups to keep them in place. He used what looks like masking tape, and only on one side. Needless to say, the tape is useless and open popups are an invitation to rodents and vermin.We have had another contractor out to examine the work that was done, and in his opinion the job was handled incorrectly. The trench was dug by hand instead of a trencher and it shows. Judging by the lake in the back yard, I agree with him. I don't think SLS was capable of addressing our irrigation issue and shouldn't have taken the job. Once they did and got our payment, Sam stopped responding to calls and evidently cannot or will not fix it. I filed a complaint with the BBB, and the complaint is now closed because SLS did not respond to either notification. I have given SLS every opportunity to correct their work because I paid for it, and a more responsible business owner would care about customer satisfaction and their reputation.

Contacted Sam Waddel after purchasing a new home and he immediately came over with his manager to a**** the property which was fairly large (1.5 acres) with very mature foliage and lawn. He was very professional and knowledgeable. His company began trimming and caring for the lawn immediately. AFter a week I noticed the previous owners had ignored the fact that the rain down spouts were allowing water to collect in front of the steps and other areas. Same offered a solution to re-route the rain underground using pipes to direct the rain water away from the home. He did an excellent job and continues to maintain the lawn and trees in a professional manner.

Like the previous review, I too have to give SLS a F based upon their responsiveness. I called them to provide me with an estimate for taking care of my lawn. I was informed that no one needed to be home, that they would come out and leave a quote in the mailbox. That was nearly two weeks ago. I haven't heard from them since.

I called for an estimate for tree removal and hardscaping. No one ever got back to me. If they don't return my call for an estimate, how can I rely on them when it comes to doing the work? This was my first experience with Angie's list, and it wasn't a good one!

They are reliable and will get on any problems you may have.

The design was consistent with what we envisioned, and the work was very professional and of high quality. I had several people review their work during the build-out and they were impressed with the quality of the prep work, the materials they used, and the quality and look of the finished product. We called around for several estimates and their price was very competitive. Steve, one of their landscape architects, did not rush us and was very patient with us throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again.

I like their services. They are in the business to satisfy the customer.

The job went smoothly. We received a quote within a couple of days of our inquiry and the job was started approx. 3 weeks after we signed a contract. We are very happy with the work done and the professionalism of the company.

Great. Steve Stranz was my landscape architect. He worked within my budget, made suggestions and was very easy going about changes. The team was friendly and respectful of my property.

They do a good job. Office staff are friendly and courteous. We like them enough to have them back year after year, that says something. As a note, we have used them for mowing only, but they offer a other services. We can't comment on those since we have not used them. But overall, our experience with this company has been very good and we would recommend them.
