DON BLANCHARD PAINTING LLC

I was referred to Don Blanchard Painting back in 2007. We hired him to paint over 80% of the interior of our home. Don showed up on the first day of our job on time and continued to work daily until our job was finished. Don worked in a clean and orderly fashion. Don has always shown up when he said he would. Over the years, Don has picked up my phone calls or has been good to return voice mail messages. Since establishing a working relationship with Don Blanchard Painting 6-years ago, he has been our go-to-painter for our interior painting needs.

I was looking for exterior painting services when I sent an inquiry to Don Blanchard Painting LLC. The owner did contact me in a timely manner. He than went to the house to inspect for an estimate. He called me to discuss the issues he felt needed to be addressed as part of the service. I asked him to put all the issues in his estimate and forward it to me for review. Basically after all that work he never followed through with a follow up call or estimate. He simply walked away without any explanation. Very unprofessional. A simple email or voice mail stating no interest or too busy right now would have been fine.

He was very nice. He saw that I was painting the trimmer. It was dark cherry red and I was changing it to white, which was not easy. He gave tips on that, which was really nice too. He told me to get rid of the oil based drawer, which was told to me earlier; it was nice of him to explain me that. He was reasonably priced. I got few quotes from others and they all were in the same vicinity. First day he did the primer and one coat and next day he did the second coat. It wasn?t a quick and easy job. He did a nice job; it wasn?t that he dragged his feet.

They were very neat, they did a good job cleaning up, and they were efficient. It was a two person team and they were very polite.

I didn't feel confident that Don could do the painting of my home to my satisfaction. He seemed out of place when looking over the house and hearing what I was asking for, and wasn't sure if he could handle some of the minor carpentry work I required. I never heard back from him until one day I received the estimate in the mail. It was thousands higher than any other company I had out. I was amazed since I hadn't expected to hire him anyway after our initial meeting, but in no way did I feel that he had the quality and expertise to backup a quote that high. In the end I went with another contractor.

Excellent job, as usual. Don has done work for us for many years. He is meticulous and trustworthy. I plan to have him do more painting and deck maintenance this year.

He was very prompt. He was right up front, the price he quote me was the price at the end. Overall I was very happy with his work. I would highly recommend him to others.
