I made the mistake of buying a snowblower online. It arrived in a crate and required some serious assembly that was well beyond my abilities. I took it to another dealer who charged me $90. When the impending snowstorm arrived the new machine was impossible to handle, stalled out regularly and the chute didn't turn correctly. After lighting up the phone lines with Ariens corporate they referred me to Fred's Small Engines and said they'd pick up the tab to have the initial assembly re-done and done right. I took my new machine down the next morning and they were ready to unload it off my pickup truck. I went over all the problems I'd experienced after the recent snowstorm and how the first shop (Northeast Equipment) bungled the setup. They said give it a week and they'd get it in shape. Two days later it was ready. A kinked fuel system hose was fixed (that was causing the stalling out), new composite skids were installed (that fixed the weaving around the pavement) and they said the chute remote control assembly had been initially installed upside-down. All fixed under warranty, with a smile and an appreciation of my future business. I cannot say enough positive things about the guys there. They're serious about power equipment and making their customers happy--which is more than I can say for other dealers.

I have a Toro 724 Snowblower and Fred's had been reccomended to me as a good local shop and I have not been disappointed. I expected the repair/tune-up to be a couple weeks mostly because the model is 15 plus years old. The guys have done a great job at a very reasonable price. Other companies that have worked on this in the past have said that I should hold onto this unit as it was very well made and these guys said the exact same thing when I brought it in so it made me feel confident. Job well done.
