The office was quick to give me a date for the free quote. John was on time - even handling my notification that I was running late - and obviously very knowledgeable about his trade. He explained everything to me and gave me his recommendations as well as an estimate. We have not decided to get the work done, but if/when we do would definitely be contacting Cronin Hardwood Floors again.

He was fabulous. He did exactly what he said he would do when he would it and was very clean.

John Cronin came out at a convenient time to originally give an estimate for refinishing the existing parquet floor. He explained when he got there that he would not be able to refinish the floor because it was too thin from being refinished a few times in the past. He instead suggested replacing the floor and we decided to go with a laminate floor to keep costs down. He explained that the proper way to install the floor would be to rip up the existing floor, even out the parts that seemed uneven, and then install the laminate. He quoted a reasonable price which was lower than Lowe's and Empire's price and both companies wanted to install the floor over the existing floor which would have been less work for them. He also said he could do the job in a week and would replace the molding in all the rooms that would have to be taken off to install the floors. The other companies were going to charge extra for this or not do it at all. Unfortunately while taking up the old floor, the tiles pulled up some of the concrete below because of the way they were originally attached. Because of this he had to spend extra time and order more materials to even out the floor before putting down the laminate. He tried to keep the extra cost down by keeping the labor costs low during this process. He only finished one day later than originally anticipated with the extra work that needed to be done but he did it the right way. Throughout the job they moved furniture and put it back at the end without an extra charge and they cleaned everything up well at the end. The floors look beautiful and even though it took a little extra time it was worth having Cronin do the job. The final cost of the entire job with the extra work still came under the estimates that we got from the other companies. I would hire him again to do any work that we have to do with floors in the future because of his professionalism throughout the whole process.

We contacted John to have our living room, dining room and hallways refinished. Setting up the appointment was very easy. He showed up as scheduled and was honest about whether it could be done. He even took a board with him to test it at the shop. The estimate arrived as promised on Monday and scheduling the work was very straightforward. They called to confirm which we really appreciated and showed up on time to complete the work. They were very neat and professional. The floors look amazing and we could not be happier. It is honestly better than I would have expected.

The guys from Cronin put down a new wood floor in our son's bedroom. While we were told to expect this project to be two days, the two installers showed up around 8:30, took a quick lunch break and were finished before 3:00 the same day. This also included the removal of the existing carpeting and a post-work cleanup that was immaculate. We were extremely satisfied with the result - changed the entire look of the room. We will be using Cronin again for our bedroom, and likely for the rest of the house. Very professional and expedient.

The entire process went very well from start to finish; foyer, living room and dining room. The use of the dustless sanding system was amazing. No dust to be found anywhere in the house. Staff was expertly trained and courteous. A small repair that needed to be done is absolutely unnoticeable. My hardwood floors are gleaming!

John came in to the house, looked at our dark brown, hand scraped hardwood floors and instead of offering his service he criticized our choice of product. He offered no advice on how to restore that type of floor. He actually got angry, told me he had waisted his time coming to the appointment and left our house ?!!!

John was great. I called several companies and he was the only company who would even entertain polishing wood floors opposed to only sanding them, which is the most expensive option. He gave me a rough idea of what to expect over the phone prior to seeing the floors in the house we were buying and was very prompt for the appointment to come see the floors in person. He also called to let me know he was on the way. He quoted me a price which was similar to other companies I called, but did at least offer a less expensive option if the floors were in better shape than they actually ended up being in. Our appointment was scheduled for October 29th, which was the day Hurricane Sandy started to enter our area. We were under a tight time constraint in regards to needing our floors finished prior to moving in on October 31st. Instead of canceling our appointment due to the hurricane, John's guys worked through most of the day until 3pm. Furthermore, he ended up bringing in two extra guys so they could finish close to two days worth of work in one day. While they weren't able to come out following day due to the Hurricane and not being able to reach his trucks. They did come out the following day and even brought a generator since our power was out. Furthermore, he let us hook up our refrigerator and a few other things so we could finish painting our basement as they worked upstairs on the floors and salvage whatever food was in the fridge. I'm very particular with companies and the work I expect done. Cronin hardwood floors more than met our expectations. John was very professional, prompt, fair and a class act. Very nice as well. We plan on using him again when we add pergo floors to our finished basement.

The whole process went smoothly - John and team were extremely professional and completed the work on schedule.

Found Cronin on Angie's list. He came to visit home promptly and emailed me an estimate within a day. He and his crew did the work professionally and quickly. Finished the complete job in 5 days....clean and neat and looking great!! Would recommend them to everyone!!

Excellent work and excellent experience! Sanded (dust-free sanding through a vacuum out in truck!) & refinished hard wood floors in living room/dining room/kitchen...actually got job done in 2 days instead of 3, thanks to moving our furniture and piano for us! The moving was done so carefully and they even covered our furniture and piano. Very pleasant and easy to work with, gave great advice, and even fixed an old damaged part of floor and made it look new. During job, there was a small nick in our kitchen cabinet and they paid to replace it. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend and will be using in the future!

This job needed two days to complete, as on the first day, only one installer was working. On the second day, two installers quickly finished the job. The installation was very well done. All the corners were cut very cleanly and the transition from the old hardwoods to the new looks seamless. Overall a good experience.

The responsiveness for the estimate initially was good, but I was promised a quote with 2-3 days. I called back, spoke with the office personnel, left voicemails and weeks later still did not have a quote. Disappointing given that the reviews of the actual work seem to be otherwise good.

I got my 50-year old wood floors (about 400 square feet) sanded and finished with three coats of a satin finish. Additionally, I had a small section of wood floor underneath a radiator replaced that had rotted from water damage. The final result was magnificent. Three workers started around 9 a.m. and finished at 3:30. The workers were simply professional and the floors looked brand new. I highly recommend Cronin Hardwoodfloors. You won't be disappointed!

They came and saw the floors and seemed knowledgeable. However, they never got back to me with an estimate and did not return three phone calls trying to get the estimate.

They were excellent. They were on time and neat. They did everything, even moving the furniture. They were very professional and also used sample stains on the floor so I could actually see what I was getting. I used them because they were a star company listed on Angie's List.

John is a very pleasant and professional guy to work with. He had great suggestions and offered professional guidance when choosing stain colors, etc. We are extremely happy with the results to sand and refinish the hardwood floors; they look like new and have a beautiful rich patina. His service was prompt and personnel courteous. We would highly recommend using John's services!Excellent!

This was a great experience. This was a competitive price -we got four estimates John knows floors and provided helpful suggestions. The workers were terrific - fast, neat and clean. They cleaned up each day so we did not have a dusty/dirty house. My wife was delighted. They put plastic sheeting over all pictures, mirrors, drapes and chandeliers and screened off where the furniture was - there were no doors.. They discovered the subfloor was deficient in the living room and dining room. This added to the estimate, which was OK. He started work on Monday and planned to complete work by Friday. Because of the delay caused by the sub floor his crew came in on Saturday so were would be able to get our house back Saturday afternoon and not have to wait until Monday evening. We plan on doing two more rooms and will use Cronin. We are glad we did not do all the house at one time. The disruption would have been too much!!

The project went very smoothly from start to finish. John provided a fair quote, with plenty of explanation as to how it would work. When we finally got around to having the work done (~ 4 months after the quote), they were able to schedule us within days. This project was going to be a bit inconvenient as we were living in the house, and they were doing the whole first floor and part of the second floor. John's team worked with us to plan the schedule so I could accommodate the family schedule (children, etc). Despite my initial skepticism, their "dustless" system was practically dust-free. I was concerned (having done floors on my own) that there would just be somewhat "less dust", but there really is almost no dust in the house. It took 2 days to sand, and 2 days to put down the finish. We were out of the house for just 1 1/2 days (8 hours one day, 5 hours the next). By 3pm on day 4, we were back in. I was very impressed with their customer friendly attitude. Even when I changed my mind about the finish, they were courteous and accommodated my change without charge or change in schedule (After seeing the first coat of "satin" finish, I asked that it be done in semi-gloss"). They took real pride in their work, and were very happy to explain the process and work around our schedule.

Excellent work done by John Cronin and his team! The job was started and finished, as promised. The Inspection was done quickly and efficiently by John. He provided me with an Estimate soon after and we made a booking for the Installation. The quality of work done is fantastic! His workers went about their work in an organised, neat manner; always cleaned up, at the end of the day and were, in general, very, very helpful. The best part about the whole experience, apart from the superb quality of work done, was John's attitude. He was most forthcoming with information, let us buy wood from wherever we wanted to (even though he supplies, as well), was very transparent about pricing, provided valuable suggestions that saved us money; in all, the most professional and friendly service, I have experienced. He always went the extra mile to ensure our satisfaction. I suggested him to a friend, hesitatingly, since I felt that it was a very small job, for his Team. However, he took it on immediately, because of my recommendation and now, my friend parrots whatever I have expressed above! Wishing John the very best....and may his Tribe grow.

It was dust free. They had a vacuum system by which they took all of the dust out of the room through the window and the vacuum machine on our driveway. There was no dust coming in. They were on time. They did what they were supposed to do. They were friendly. One thing that I have noticed now is that, in between the pieces of wood, in the bedroom it seems that some varnish or something is popping between the slabs. It’s a little wrath. We haven’t spoken to him about it. It looks like; the varnish that they put is getting squeezed between the slabs. Their price was average; it was acceptable. I would use them in the future.
