I would highly recommend using Cronin for your flooring work. The estimate process was quick and simple, and the office was very accommodating to changes we made in the schedule due to closing and move-in dates. The floors are beautiful and the work was completely quickly. Everyone at Cronin was professional and courteous, I highly recommend them.

John Cronin, the owner stopped by to see the space himself. He gave an estimate on the spot, as well as a time frame for when we could schedule the job for, pending the deposit. He sent us a sample (again delivered himself) for us to view to ensure the flooring would match. I was in frequent touch with John as well as Rachel at his office, both of whom were exceptionally helpful, honest and always available. We made a very last minute change of switching flooring to some we had already but forgotten about, and they didn't bat an eye at crediting us the cost of materials back. The gentleman that came to do the flooring was named Jonathan and he was courteous, efficient and didn't need any guidance or for anyone to oversee his work. He knew exactly what to do. I expected piles of old flooring and a thin layer of dust over the protection he laid down at the end of the day, but he removed the flooring from the apartment and disposed of it himself and cleaned up every inch of the space he was working on at the end of the day, bringing his own vacuum cleaner and cleaning materials. While other flooring vendors had told us they would need to pry off the entire outside of the baseboard trim in order to remove the old flooring, Jonathan carefully removed only one small section and slide the pieces in that way, resulting in much less work we would need to arrange to get the space back in the shape it was in before. We had a small part of flooring missing in another room, in a different wood that other vendors had repaired by putting in a putty that would dry up and pop out. After showing it in passing to Jonathan, he came the next day with a perfectly sized piece, matching the color and grain and had it installed immediately. Every aspect of the service and work was professional and we were very satisfied with the work itself as well as how quickly it was performed. They were simply wonderful.

It worked out well. I had a lot of estimates and he fell in the middle. I like his personality and I love the person on the phone whom I have to deal with that is why I opted for them. The people who actually did the work were very accommodating. It is a family business, to the father, son and the young boy...they were all here. They were all willing to negotiate with me.

The estimate was very high compared to other service providers. John was very honest with me -- I really appreciate that and I would go back to him to bid on another job. Very punctual and professional. Appears to have a lot of experience working with the type of building I live in.

I had a bedroom floor sanded, stained and 3 coats of poly. The two man team showed up earlier than expected which was a plus for me. They worked quietly and cleanly. Overall it was an excellent experience.

Rachel, who handled the phones, was lovely and attentive. John came to my house, discussed my problems and drew up the estimate. The men whole installed the floors were prompt and courteous. I had high anxiety about this job because the house is over 100 years old and the floors are all oak. The match isn't bad. My poor kitty, who ruined the floors; may she rest in peace.

Rachel and John were fantastic. They are very responsive, professional and a pleasure to deal with. I contacted five installers on Angie's List and had 2 come for an estimate. John was one of them. John's estimate was very competitive and pointed out one installation issue that might be a problem that no other installer raised! I would definitive recommend them to friends!

I liked everything they did, they did everything we had discussed before and they did a nice job. They were punctual, they were here when they said they would be here, they did what we asked them to do, and they helped us pick out the proper stain to match with the kitchen cabinet. They did a great job.

had a leak in the bathroom sometime in august 2013. hardwood flooring on hallway to bathroom and parts of 2 bedroom and living room were soaked. i got 2 quotes and john came up with the most reasonable price. his staff answered all of my questions in a timely manner. the team he sent took care of my home as i stayed in a hotel during the job. they had to move furnitures from one room to another as they work on each room since my condo unit is not that big. color samples i picked was applied on parts of resanded floors so i can see what each color will look like. their dustless system is awesome! they were accomodating with all of my requests and questions. touch ups were also done well. i highly recommend john and his staff.

The dustless system kept the dust to a minimum, although sanding the stairs and room perimeters generated some dust piles. John recommended the water based poly, which I used. I must say I don't love the look and feel of it as much as the old oil based polyurethanes of years ago, but overall, I'm happy with the results and would recommend Cronin.

they did an excellent job, on time and for the agreed on price. the workmanship was very good on the particularly complex trim pattern of mahogany and oak in the parquet.

We had them refinish the parquet floors downstairs first. They are probably about 100 years old and had been covered up by carpet for who knows how long by the previous owner. They did a great job refinishing it though when all was said and done i did notice marks from the sander that are visible through the stain. Next they installed hardwood floors upstairs. Again, they did a good job with the work, cutting out banister poles to a shorter length as well. When they were done I noticed stain on a lot of our moldings around the house. Overall a 4/5.

John and his team did a phenomenal job. I'm convinced the value of my house just increased substantially. From the initial quote request to the final walk-thru inspection, everything happened as I hoped it would. The job took two weeks to complete, everyone was punctual, detail oriented and accommodating. I got 3 quotes (2 from Angies List and 1 that was recommended to me by a friend). The recommendation is a general contractor with a focus on carpentry, paint and floors. All three came in more or less at the same price point and I short listed Cronin and my friend's recommendation. Several things swayed it to Cronin; the significant number of positive recommendations found on Angie's, I realized I wanted a specialist (floors only) and not a generalist AND when asked if it would be better/easier to move out of the house so that they could finish the job unobstructed and in a single week (recommended by the generalist), John said it wasn't necessary and felt that the job would have a better outcome if he had the 2 weeks to complete it. He was right. Living in the house during all of this was relatively easy and the floors look awesome.

We decided to go another route because another contractor on Angie's List was able to get us in the schedule earlier and out of 4 contractors, Cronin was among the highest. However, the people at Cronin were very receptive and responsive to my needs and questions. John was very friendly and knowledgeable when he came to do our estimate. But we wouldn't have had any qualms about using them if they had been able to get us in earlier since schedule more than price was driving our need.

After my initial phone call, John made a visit to my home to discuss the requirements of the job. Initially we wanted to redo the hardwood floors in the MBR after removing the carpet, he recommended to do the entire floor ( 3 bed rooms and hallway) to avoid having a color difference on the floor or installing a saddle. Same day I received the quotes for both just the MBR and the entire level, prices where very reasonable compared to another company that quoted the job, the third company never showed up (from Belleville, bad communications, misunderstandings on their part...), so I decided to also do the stairs to the living room and a small landing. The team was punctual, extremely polite, they even helped moving out a smaller dresser from one of the rooms. Excellent professionals, great quality work. After sanding, patching, staining and 3 coats of finish the floors look amazing. For payment, the company scheduled a time according to my availability and John came to my house to pick it up and review the job. Will definitely use their services in the future for the rest of my projects.

No review of the work. He may be fantastic, but missed our 9 AM important. My phone calls went straight to voice mail. I had to leave by 10 AM as I had taken time off work to be there for the estimate. John called after 10 AM clearly upset that no one was on site for his estimate. He suggested that the window for his arrival was 9-10AM. I had called the previous day to confirm 9AM and no 'window' was suggested by his assistant. He tried to blame my wife who made the appointment, but she's sharper than I am and confirmed there was no 1 hour appointment window suggested when she scheduled his visit. John was also rude on the phone, w/ the implication that my wife was at fault and I shouldn't expect someone to schedule an appointment without an arrival window. I found another business to perform the work, and they arrived promptly for their estimate.

We asked them to come to the house to give us a quote for refinishing our floors. They were timely and sent us a quote very quickly.

Floors are stunning and John and crew were very responsive and easy to work with. On short notice, John worked with me to have job done before my target move in date. His crew worked with me to ease coordination with the electrician and painters. Needless to say this help turn a stressful situation into a fun situation! Thanks John for a great job!!

Very nice gentleman, on time, very knowledgeable. Got a lower estimate but he was my second choice if things didnt work out.

I asked the provide to come by for an estimate. First of all, the folks do not return calls on time. It usually takes them a week to revert. There was once instance where they promised me a walk through to check on the installation. however, they called and cancelled 1 hour prior to the installation. I had to call back to perform a reschedule. They never visited my place and my calls during the reschedule went unanswered. I called back again for 2 days to see where they are in terms of the price it self and they gave me a rough installation price which was twice that of the market standard. DO NOT DEAL with this chumps...

They are excellent. They were timely. They came when they said they would. They were professional and clean. They had the right equipment for the soft floors.

Very pleased with the job. The floors look amazing and the service was excellent. The job was finished within the time frame that was promised and the workers very professional, super neat and clean throughout entire time. Excellent job, very happy.

Everything went great! They said the job would take 3 days and they got it done in 2 which was amazing for us since we are under a time crunch to move into our house this week! The staff was courteous and professional and they left our house so clean. My fiance and I were sure the house would be a dusty mess, but they use a clean virtually dust free technology where you honestly wouldn't even know they were there (aside from the beautiful floor work of course! We would definitely use them again in the future.

Cronin Hardwood Floors did great work. They were able to meet a very tight schedule in getting the work completed. I would definitely recommend them. I was definitely impressed with the quality of work. They originally planned to work for us for 7 days and then they ended up getting it done on 5. So their ability to be flexible to meet our needs and delivered a high quality product was something that we were very happy with.
