This is by far one of, if not the, best companies I have ever had work in my home. We have had contractors, plumbers, electricians, HVAC people, etc in our home, but the team from Cronin Floors was superb. First, demo is an ugly job, but the team was detailed in sealing off other rooms so dust would not permeate into those areas. Then the demo itself was precision. Great job and super neat and cleaned and vacuumed area. Sub floor installed and then those gorgeous floors. Cronin team was there promptly each and every day for 7 straight days. A very diligent, well-skilled (Joshua is a miter genius-impressive). John Cronin (owner) was so responsive, so attentive and so professional. If you are in the market for new floors, this is the only place you should go. When the time is right, I am re-hiring them to sand and re-finish other rooms.

After wasting several hours with other contractors and their lack of professionalism, John was a breath of fresh air. He is professional and responsive. He provided a quote and scheduled the job quickly, right in the middle of the holiday season at the end of December. The job was done in a timely manner and most importantly exactly as promised. The staircase is beautiful and we've received so many compliments. As homeowners, we take the time to research the job, speak with different contractors, and gather several quotes prior to making a final decision. John is hands down one of the best professionals we've had do work in our home. Highly recommend Cronin Hardwood Floors!!!

I had a pipe freeze and burst in my kitchen. Half of my hardwood floors were destroyed. The insurance company would not replace the entire flooring. Instead they said, they would replace half the floor and then refinish the rest. Needless to say, I was very concerned about how this would look, but had no other option. I contacted five flooring companies. Cronin was no nonsense and gave me a very fair price, far below the other options, so I decided to go with them. I explained that I wanted a grey floor and they said that was a custom color and would cost more but still the price was VERY REASONALBLE! They sanded my hardwood floor and showed me two samples of the color in my home and matched the sample from the big box store!! I was thrilled. They then removed the old flooring and put in the new flooring, and then did another test to see if the old wood would match the new floor with the color of my choice. It was perfect!! It was not a big job, only 450 sq ft. and I read another review that said Cronin may be getting too big for small jobs. THEY COULD NOT BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH!!! After the floor were done, I noticed big gaps in my bathroom around the toilet on the old wood. Nothing too surprising?they had a team out here within the week to fix it and match it STILL AT A REASONABLE cost!!! All of the staff that showed up to my home were prompt and professional and accommodating to my schedule. The office staff, Rachel and Megan are friendly and super helpful!!! All emails are responded to quickly and sure to address any questions. John the owner provides superior customer service from start to finish. He showed up on the job while it was being completed and then came back to address my concerns about the old wood in the bathroom. Believe me, this flood has caused extensive damage to my home and I wish that every company handled the work with such professionalism, integrity and cost efficiency as Cronin Hardwood. Every person that sees my floors are impressed and I couldn?t be more thrilled working with them.

From the very first meeting with John Cronin, we knew he was the flooring contractor for us. Not only was he personable, professional and quickly put us at ease with his flooring knowledge, he also showed a genuine enthusiasm for what his work. John was a breath of fresh air and we agreed to use his services almost immediately. Once we decided to work with him, John took the time to show us various flooring in a number of locations around New Jersey. When we agreed on a direction, the materials were ordered quickly and the floors were installed in a timely, professional manner. Baseboards were created to our liking and he even laid down a few different stains to see what truly appealed to our sensibilities. And when we agreed - his team once again got right to work, assuring us the job would be done in time for our move in date. And It was. Upon seeing the finished work, we were speechless. The floor was more beautiful than we even imagined. We will certainly enjoy showing off our amazing floors for years to come. The workers arrived on time ready to work. Any questions that were asked, were answered accordingly. Very professional workers. I would use them again and would also recommend them to anyone looking for good work at an affordable price.

Very happy with the work. His crew arrived on time each day, and worked with painter I hired so as not to be there on the same day. John Cronin suggested getting the 3 radiators moved if possible. This revealed some extensive repair work, but the estimate amount had accounted for some repair and this didn't increase that figure. These original parquet floors ranged in thickness from 1/8" to 1/16", so this was a delicate operation, to get (what I view as) one final refinish. They did a great job with repairs. We went with 4 coats of Poly with the hope that the floors would look good for decades to come. John wisely warned us that the floors are very thin, so we're grateful he was willing to get one last refinish out of them, and we're hoping to 'go easy' on them (again, very think oak boards). The floors look fantastic, and all the prewar detail remains.

Excellent results. The owner, John, responded to our request for a quote promptly. A mutually acceptable appointment was established. The estimate was fair and provided by email within 24 hours. The staff, like John, was prompt, professional, and courteous. They were also extremely careful. Our job required moving large pieces of furniture. Due to our homes configuration it required the project be completed in two stages. The furniture from the master bedroom had to be placed in the study. When the master bedroom was completed both rooms of furniture were moved to the master bedroom. When the study was completed the furniture for this room was returned. The rooms and hallway involved had been painted the prior week so I was concerned that the walls would be marked. The employees were magicians, successfully moving large pieces of furniture multiple times around very tight corners but left the walls pristine! The use of the dustless sander makes all the difference, eliminating work for the homeowner. The staff took care to vacuum the carpeting in the hallway. When they completed the project we were left with two beautiful floors and no clean up. We had first employed John's services for three other rooms several years ago. While his business has grown the service has remained superior. We will not hesitate to call upon John in the future.

The crew workers were professional, polite, and prompt. They didn't waste a moment. The job is beautiful and I am picky and was fearful this replacement would not match the adjoining flooring. It looks super. I was referred by another contractor and let him know with pics how great it looks. Would refer John Cronin to anyone who is looking for this service. Have another property and will definitely use his services when I am ready to start.

The old carpet in the house we just purchased was hiding broken boards and gobs of paint. Called two previous companies for estimates. One scheduled the work, then called a week later to say the job was too small. Waited an entire day for the second company to show up; owner apparently forgot he was on vacation... John from Cronin came the same day I called for an appointment. The estimate was very fair. Admittedly, there were issues with scheduling, but it was worth the wait. His crew showed up on time, managed to match the finish to the rest of the house perfectly, worked diligently and left the place spotless. Really great job, would definitely recommend. highly.

After my consultation with John, I decided to go with the hardwood floor installation. Work began promptly on the date we had reserved and within a week, I had beautiful new floors and new staircase. Workers did an amazing job, working diligently throughout each day. The workers sealed off areas of the house with plastic sheeting and also moved furniture that I was unable to remove from the living room. After they were finished each day, they made sure to clean up after themselves. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I would highly recommend John and his crew.

He promised to be here at 1:00 PM. I have 2 emails confirming everything. Its now 1:23 PM. No call and no show on the quote price. I than called the office and the admin just says 'sorry I dont know where he is'

The initial visit to get the estimate went really quickly and smoothly - I had an estimate in my inbox within just a few hours. I scheduled the service for the following week (again, just installing hardwood floor that I had bought from another retailer in a room of about 350 feet). About 3 days later, on a Sunday, I realized it would not be possible for them to install the floor because of delays with other contractors and work in the same room. I e-mailed to reschedule and within just a few hours I got a really nice reply saying that it would be no problem to reschedule. The day of service, the employee came earlier than expected and estimated that he'd probably have to come back in the following day to finish the job. At about the time he was supposed to leave, he estimated he only had a couple hours left of work so he decided to just stay and finish that day instead of coming back - I was SO grateful that he stayed to finish it up that day. The only issue I had is that once the floor was put in, the guy mentioned that there were some bends and bows in the floor - totally normal for an old house, and I had expected that - but I do wish it was something that we talked about earlier so I could have asked if there was a way to mitigate the waves in the subfloor before putting in the floor. But the floor looks awesome anyway and I'm happy with the service and professionalism.

Started job on time and dealt with the condo associations insurance and form demands promptly. Work took 2 and half more days than planned and not sure why but ended up not causing any issues. Other than a couple minor issues like a small gap between two of the pieces and some areas where paint was damaged when removing the baseboard the work looks great. I would recommend them to anyone as there prices were great especially the cost of the flooring itself.

Crew came in and were very polite. I was very surprised by how quickly they got the job done and I could tell they knew what they were doing.

The Owner himself came on time for estimate. Work performed soon thereafter. Workers were very clean and process produced very little dust. Had small problem mainly due to weather that was fixed the next day. Overall happy with the job and would use again.

Great Service and excellent quality. The team went above and beyond to make sure the project was completed on time. The owner, John Cronin, consistently impressed me. He kept me informed of issues and provided helpful insight to make sure the end result was fantastic. I wouldn't recommend anyone else. I will certainly be a repeat customer.

Overall everything met or exceeded my expectations. The quality and fit of the wood really gives a seamless look from where the old floor was to where the new floor begins with no perceptible difference. While everything looked beautiful, there were some issues with squeakiness in some areas, but Cronin came back to have a look and sent a team back out to remove the wood where needed, replace and refinish the entire bedroom to ensure that everything was done right. A few things that stood out: 1. The teams were punctual. If rescheduling was needed, I was alerted at least the day before. 2. The teams were respectful. These were the only contractors I had through a long renovation process who actually didn't put their equipment on my floors and would put it on cardboard or other surfaces that wouldn't be damaged. 2. The teams were very clean. They worked in an organized and clean way so the working area was always clean and things weren't strewn about all over the apartment. I would not hesitate to use Cronin again or to recommend them!

Cronin Hardwood sanded and stained my hardwood floors throughout the house. The floors were in pretty bad shape when we purchased the home, grey and worn. John and team made color suggestions (I said I wanted a darker look( and I let them run with it. Their suggestion came out beautiful! When I walked it, it looked like the floors were actually replaced with new wood vs refinished, absolutely gorgeous. I would highly recommend - total transformation!

There was a little misunderstanding about the length of the job in the beginning and a slight disagreement about needing to stop work for one day for other work to be completed but other than that, the project was a great success. The floor is beautiful and the workman were extremely professional, open to resolving any issues that arose and took extra time in helping us decide the stain color by mixing various stains until we were able to come to a decision. The men moved our furniture with great care, nothing was damaged and they were very patient when returning the furniture to it's proper places. I definitely would use them again to strip and stain our living room.

Recently purchased a home with hardwood floors under the carpets. John was quick to come bid the job, roughly 1000 sq ft was refinished. Two of John's guys showed up on time and got straight to work. They removed the carpets and staples, which left behind a nasty film on the hardwood floors. The sander had no problem getting the film off. The guys noticed a few planks that were badly damaged and John had his repair guy on the scene in a couple hours. The repair cost was very reasonable. After staining and 3 coats of poly, the guys were on their way. Could not be happier with the way they conducted business and of course the final product. Have already referred to family and friends.

Great quality work, really easy going to deal with. Would highly recommend.

I called up Cronin to get an estimate on my property. First thing I didn't like about him is that he was in a rush and kept excusing himself over some phone calls. He quickly measured the room and then rushed out and said he would give me an estimate. He also tried to make it seem like i had a problem with my floor and that it would cost me a lot extra but when I told him all it needed was a filler he realized I had done my research. When it finally came down to the estimate he was 30% more expensive than my lowest offer by other contractors. He pretty much wants $4 a sq foot while the best competitor gave me something like 2.80 a sq ft. This guy is overpriced and he has no pictures of his projects. When I told him his price was way too high he didn't even try to negotiate and see what I was looking for. He must be a millionaire or something because he doesn't care much about prospective customers. Actually now that I come to think about it, he is definitely not a millionaire because millionaires do business through any means possible. He is way to unprofessional for me and all i can say is good luck to you if you wish to do business with someone like this.
