Poor customer service
Description of Work: Contracted for ten years. They don't return phone calls. Just come when you are not home and bill. Very poor customer service. Contract elsewhere!

The provider was coming every quester. The last quarter they never showed up. Called afterwards to re-schedule. this quarter, they did not show up or call. Then a second scheduled service call and again did not show up or call. I am canceling service and requesting reimbursement per their guarantee.

I had a bad experience. I would not use them again. Even the customer service was bad. I had to call them back I could not get through to them and it was nasty. I had to call about 6 times. They had to send a senior tech and I would not recommend them. The tech was friendly. I would never use their service again.

We have been using them for four years. They come out quarterly. We have a lot of shrubbery, so we are prone to having mice and bugs. Since we have been using them, we haven't had any mice or insect problems. We will continue to use them in the future.

.They are a little expensive but I know that my house is protected all year long. I called Orkin right away because I thought there were termites, and they were there the next day. They always call and tell us when they are coming and come on time. If we are not home they just check the outside. They are very professional, and check for everything including mice.

They schedule to do service with me when I'm home so they can treat inside and out. They send the same tech each time which is nice because I know he knows what needs to be done. I'm happy with the service and the problem has been under control since I started using them.

The first treatment was scheduled for Saturday, October 22 between 10AM and 2PM. No one ever showed up and no one ever called. I contacted the person with whom I placed the order and notified him that no one showed up. He asked me what days during the following week I would be available. I advised him that if they did not do the treatment on that day, I would hire another exterminator. He agreed to send someone (they arrived at 5PM) and notified me that the price would be reduced by $100. The following Saturday, October 29, the technician arrived at 10AM to do the treatment. The next Saturday, November 5, no one showed up and no one called. I left a voice mail message for the person with whom I placed the service order as well as notifying Orkin's customer service center. I did not receive a return call until Monday morning, when the company called to get my credit card number to charge me for the services. I informed them that I did not receive the services, that I still had bed bugs, and that I would not pay them. At this point, I had already made an appointment with another exterminator to finish the work. On Monday, November 28, I received an invoice in the mail for $802.50 ($750 plus tax). It did not include the promised $100 reduction for late arrival on October 22, and included a charge for the services that were never provided on November 5. I called the office to explain that I was billed for services that I never received and was told that someone would call me back to resolve the matter. I never received a return phone call. On December 19, I received an invoice from Orkin's collection agency for #802.50. I have never experienced such utter incompetence or complete unprofessionalism.
Description of Work: I called Orkin's customer service number to report a problem with bed bugs. I was told that someone would come to my house on Octboer 17 between 4PM and 6PM to do an inspection. When I got home that night, there was a voice mail message from someone trying to schedule treatments. I returned his call and was told that they do not do inspections. At that point, in order to avoid further delay, I scheduled 3 treatments on subsequent Saturdays beginning on October 22. I was notified that the cost of the 3 treatments would be $750 plus tax.

In August my husband called to make an appointment to have our house inspected for and quot;anyand quot; sign of bugs or infestation, including a problem with carpenter ants which we could clearly see we had. He was immediately talked into a year long service plan prior to anyone even stepping foot onto our property! They came as scheduled, put some glue traps down, sprayed some liquid bug spray, and sprayed some other bug dust in the house and also treated an outdoor area that we knew had carpenter ants. They made a point to say that they would treat the carpenter ants as requested, however, it would not really be covered under their guarantee since it was further away from the house than they normally treated. They came back to check 7 days later to see if there was any activity, but did not check themselves, simply asked me if I had seen anything and retreated the outdoor area that had the carpenter ants because I asked them to. At the time we asked them about checking for termites, and were told that was a separate division in Orkin and we would have to make another call and schedule the and quot;termite teamand quot; to come out and look. It is now November, and we have noticed evidence of termites in a woodpile in our yard. So we had the wood removed and I called Orkin to schedule the and quot;termite teamand quot; to have a look to make sure there is no evidence in the house and to possibly treat the outside area where we noticed the activity. The woman who answered the phone at the West Paterson office, which seems to be the office that services our plan, told me she could not make the appointment and that she had to get the and quot;termite teamand quot; to give us a call and schedule the appointment. It has been about six days and no follow-up. I have now hired another company to come and deal with the termite issue, as I simply don't trust Orkin. I would have thought having a and quot;service planand quot; would get you some assistance, however, it seems that once they have you hooked for one and quot;very overpricedand quot; product they simply can't be bothered with actually providing protection to your home. When the and quot;service planand quot; we have been talked into expires, I will not be using Orkin again. We called Orkin to begin with so that we could have one company do everything, and they simply make it too difficult to do business with them.

I feel that their price was extremely high and they want to sign you into a long term contract whereby you spend as much as you did for their original service to have them warranty that you would be pest free. If I did not going with their long term contract because it was simply too expensive then they tell you that the price may increase from $172 a year. I don't think that made any sense. I thought that they over charged as I talked to the other people. I don't know whether they were better than the people who charged less in the treatment aspect. I have used them in the past. I knew their name and figured that they would be competent, which was my prime consideration. If I spent a couple of dollars too much then I did not want to take the time to do any more research that I had already done quickly. I would not go back to them. I talked a lot with the people who actually did the work without the kind of research they do to improve the product like the ants injected with color to see what happens to them when they made new trails and the materials that they used that has been followed for seven years with no recurrence. They said that it should last ten years but since it was only seven they did not have a figure and it could be twelve years. I thought that they had excellent competency and they did a good job. They had to drill some concrete and patch the hole back in the previous way. The only thing for me was that I did not believe in long term contracts. I thought that it was not required if the product sold was good because everything breaks. I did not like long term contracts because I thought that it was in the favor of the company rather than the consumer. Orkin seemed exceptionally high. Based on what they told me about their testing and that their new formula worked for seven years, then for ten years I would have paid more than the original treatment plus the cost would increase because the figure that they quote you would be more down the road. They would charge you $173 this year and the next year it would be $225 and $500 the year after. If you dropped out then you would have lost all the money that you put in. I can't tell about their price because I have only talked to other people and have not called the companies. My gut feeling is that they were overpriced. They had some specials that companies like that should not have. I got some money off because it had rained for three days. That was ridiculous.
Description of Work: I have used the services of Orkin for exterminating in mid-summer or fall.

They were very professional, knowledgeable and thorough. The office staff is not very responsive in returning my phone calls and there have been some problems with the scheduling. I have been satisfied with their service.

NONE OF THE WORKERS REALLY SEEMED LIKE THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. THE SPRAYING THAT THEY DID DIDN'T WORK AT ALL. THEY DID RETURN AND SPRAYED AGAIN, BUT IT STILL DIDN'T WORK. THEY DID A REALLY, REALLY BAD JOB. THEY CHARGED ME EVERY TWO MONTHS.
