We met with BILL HANCOCK at Direct Depot Kitchen Wholesalers. He was patient and professional. Between two visits, my husband and I spent almost 11 hours with him designing and refining our dream kitchen. BILL gave us his undivided attention. The offices are up to date with projected computerized technology and numerous samples to view. His knowledge and experience proved to be invaluable to us throughout the process. Delivery times were prompt and accurate. We are very impressed with the quality and construction of the Starmark product. During our construction phase BILL was always available to answer questions and consult with our contractor. We decided to order additional moldings once our kitchen was completed. Once again Direct Depot Kitchen made the process painless. The extra moldings were delivered in under two weeks via UPS. My husband and I have recommended this company to many of our friends and family. BILL HANCOCK is definitely the go-to person at Direct Depot Kitchen Wholesalers.

A rare, rare case where a bad review turned into a good one, and well deserved. Initially, I had a bad experience on the phone (the representative put me on hold twice, then never came back, etc.). After posting my initial review on Angie's List, I got a call from Mr. Bill Hancock, after apologizing, he offered to create an initial kitchen design by Go To Meeting at no charge. I was frankly sceptical he could come up with anything useful that way but agreed to give him a shot because he had been so responsive. The plan we created was so impressive I drove 1.5 hours to his showroom to take the next step. Bill spent several hours with me designing a set of new kitchen cabinetry that fit both my vision and my budget. It's important to understand that they only sell cabinets-granite-materials. You need to hire a contractor separately for the install work. That was my main hesitation, I wanted one person to take charge of the entire design-build process, but I was so impressed by this company and Bill Hancock in particular that I took a deep breath, placed an order and found a contractor on Angie's list to do the install. I am really glad I did, as I received a very high quality set of cabinets, delivered exactly when promised. When the door handles were missing in the initial delivery order, Bill rushed them to me in 48 hours at no additional cost. I was totally impressed by the manner in which this company addressed an initial bad review, as well as in their level of customer service and attention to detail. Truly they are first rate in every respect. If you can find a good contractor to do the install work, you literally could not find anyone better to purchase cabinets, countertops, etc. from. These people are a class act and they take customer service very seriously, a pleasure to deal with from start to finish.

We were building our home and we had planned to use the ?luxury? kitchen cabinet brands that my builder recommended. By chance, we stumbled upon Direct Kitchen Depot web sites and we decided to check it out based on positive reviews. After meeting with our kitchen designer Bill Hancock, we were immediately impressed by his knowledge and his design skills showcased by a large portfolios of completed kitchens, as well the quality of the materials and construction of Starmark cabinets. It almost seemed too good to be true that we can get same, if not greater, the level of service and the quality of the material at Direct Kitchen than the luxury cabinets shops that my builder recommended at one third of the price. As we proceeded with the design and ordering process, we kept thinking that there must be a catch? the price is just too good. But there really was none. Bill has been fantastic in the design process. He took the time to go over the blueprint and our preferences and came up with the design of the kitchen and island cabinets that perfectly showcased the kitchen and breakfast areas of the new house. We also can?t commend Bill enough for his dedication. Due to tight construction schedule, there were several nights that we worked until past midnights to finalize the designs. He never showed any signs of impatience as we iterated through the different versions of the design until we feel that it?s perfect. As the result of the excellent design work and quality of the cabinets, people who visited our new house can?t believe that they are not fully custom made cabinets. The after-sale service is also exceptional. Bill also took time to visit our new kitchen to make sure that everything is perfect and even ordered replacement parts free of charge that were damaged by my contractor during installation. If you are in the market for a new kitchen, do yourself a favor and set up an appointment with Bill with Direct Kitchen Depot. To this date, we still think going with him in kitchen cabinets is one of best decisions we made when we built our dream home.

Assisted in the selection of wood, door style and accessories for cabinets. Showed plenty of examples of each style and color. Our sales representative, Amy Ahearn, was a certified kitchen designer with a lot of experience in designing ergonomically correct features. The best part of our experience was having a knowledgeable person with interior design expertise offer suggestions as to what would look the best. Most places we went to had sales people who did not comment on what would look nice. We always wanted someone to design our kitchen for us as the whole process was very overwhelming. We never knew what would look best. Amy told us she would not let us pick out anything "ugly" and we trusted her. We have all of our designs ready to go. We have ordered the cabinets and will have our contractor put them in. Amy assured us she will be available for questions and any other decisions that needed to be made. She also asked what our budget was and was able to come well under our numbers. For consumers who don't know where to start and how to get all the pieces to match up, this is the place to come to. There are other services available on the premises to help with the selection of other material such as granite counter tops. For the "not-so-young" age group it is nice to have someone offer suggestions on what would be better suited for their easy use. For instance, Amy suggested drawers instead of pull-out cabinets as this was easy on one's spine. All in all, Direct Depot Kitchens took a very difficult process and broke it down into simpler units that could easily be handled by the inexperienced consumer.

My husband and I were beginning to shop for our dream kitchen. After comparing prices and quality with many stores we returned to the Direct Depot Kitchens and met with designer Bill Hancock (at extension 112), who exhibited tons of patience and skill and helped us to complete our dream. We were intent on purchasing all wood cabinets instead of fiberboard because we wanted them to last forever and preferred to have them made in the USA, which we could not have afforded anywhere else, but with Starmark Cabinets at Direct Depot. Bill even asked a very willing Starmark representative to send a specialist from Maryland to my home after the cabinets were installed to make sure every detail was perfect. Bill's expertise to every detail and his commitment to making his customers happy has made our experience so pleasant that I can't stop recommending him and Starmark Cabinetry to all my friends, coworkers and clients. So if you are beginning what could be the daunting task of remodeling a kitchen, call Bill and "chill".

Renovating a kitchen is the most stressful and expensive endeavor of home remodeling. My husband and I met with Amy Ahearn designer for direct depot kitchens. Amy was extremely knowledgeable, patient and professional. She took so much time with us and offered numerous suggestions and options during the planning stages. She listened to all of our needs and wants and offered a design and products to fit our budget. She is truly an artist and an asset to this company. Our cabinets arrived in the exact time frame Amy had provided. They arrived in perfect condition. They are installed and look gorgeous. We called Amy with one question during installation and although she was tied up with another client she returned our call promptly and answered our question completely. I highly recommend Direct Depot Kitchens to anyone in the market for a beautiful brand new kitchen. There designers and products are truly the best of the best.

We met with bill in late January to only do some price comparisons for a two bathroom project. I really liked how Bill Hancock was able to do the virtual construction tour because it was accurate, informative, and actually helped us decide on the exact setup we wanted. When we finally met with Bill, which was always on late or weird hours at our request, he wasn't a pushy salesman, but very knowledgeable and understanding as to what we wanted and what would make the most sense in our rooms. He even showed us some additional discounts to the order through manufacturer sales and payment options that were a great help. The only bad thing about the experience is when checking us out, even though the entire order sheet had our specified stain on it, one section didn't and the manufacturer sent the wrong cabinets. This delayed our project by about 3 weeks! Regardless, we'll be talking to Bill again when we renovate our kitchen in about a year

My husband and I began our search in June 2010 for the perfect kitchen cabinets to update our 40 year old kitchen.Finally after years paying tuition's for our 4 children we were financially ready to take the plunge with an initial budget of 37,000.We visited at least 8-10 kitchen cabinet suppliers over the next 6 months including the big box stores and even a kitchen showroom in Maine while on vacation. We also researched reviews of the quality of the different cabinet lines on the internet. Our last and final stop was Direct Kitchen Depot . We were drawn to this showroom as it carried a high quality semi-custom line of cabinetry called Starmark and it participated in my Buyer's Edge program through my employer. It was on our first visit that we were fortunate to meet with Bill Hancock one of the designers in the showroom. His product knowledge and design expertise were exceptional . Although we were still debating whether or not we needed to contract for either architect or design services ,after meeting with Bill the first time, we decided that he was more than capable of designing our long awaited dream kitchen saving us that added expense. Taking several design ideas and a multitude of pictures I had collected over the years ,it was wonderful to see the designs come to life on a big screen behind Bill's desk through computer magic .This was truly the only showroom that had this feature. He patiently spent hours (and I mean hours) with us tweaking the design until it was just right. We chose Starmark cabinetry for both the quality and semicustom options it provided and we couldn't be happier. Direct Depot's price was about $5000 less than other quotes we had gotten for a comparable product .We ordered our cabinets on January 29th,2011 and were told that expected date of delivery would be 6-8 weeks.We used our own contractor and our construction began on March 1 which included a total gut and installation of a beautiful set of French doors with sidelights. Within 5 weeks, our kitchen was ready for our cabinet installation and after microwave dinners in the finished basement of our home, so were we. Unfortunately, Direct Depot underestimated the delivery time which was our only disappointment with the services we received from the showroom. Our cabinets were finally delivered on April 29th and our beautiful kitchen was ready for our sons' graduation party in June.Our contractor was very impressed with both the quality of the cabinets and the construction specifications were right inline with the original design plans. As to staying in budget, be prepared to spend more than you anticipate. Ours came to about $58,000 (kitchen size 20 by 14)factoring in construction,appliances, granite and lighting in addition to the $25,000 cabinet price and we are very thrifty shoppers.!!!

We met with designer and described our style. Kitchen was measured and we met again to pick out cabinets. Met again after designer planned kitchen. We made some changes and loved what she did. Received color design of completed kitchen. She prepared blueprints with exact measurements and gave us sets for our contractor and installer and us. Only thing we realized afterwards is end upper cabinet should have door open from dining room difficult to reach over corner counter top. Looks great!

Our overall experience with Direct Depot and Bill Hancock is exceptional. We visited the showroom and Bill to learn about our cabinet options and price ranges. Bill spent the time necessary to review the several cabinet manufactures and the difference in each. We then did a room layout and Bill suggested some options that we never thought of (ex pull out spice rack etc). He spent the time to listen to what we wanted wanted rather than telling us what we should do, like some other dealers we visited. He then came up with a very competitive price. We went home and reviewed our layout and estimate, and decide it was a little more that we wanted to spend. We met Bill again and he worked through some other options and features that got the price to what was acceptable to us. We then ordered the cabinets and was given a 6 week time frame for delivery. The cabinets were indeed delivered on time and after close inspection we didn't find anything wrong with the cabinets. We had our own contractor install the cabinets and after the completion of the install we discovered that 1 cabinet rail would not close correctly. We notified Bill and he took time out of his day to visit our home and correct/replace the rail. While it corrected the closing issue, the draw did not seem to sit correctly with the proper spacing. He immediately gave us the name of a cabinet repair person who we called and he was able to fix the issue. I can express how happy we are with the level of service, professionalism and commitment that Bill shown to get the job completed on time and to our complete satisfaction. After this experience, I would recommend anyone looking to purchase cabinets to visit Direct Depot an ask for Bill hancock. You won't be disappointed

Direct Depot Kitchens has a huge selection of cabinets - in quality, colors, and styles. If you can't find what you want there, you can't find it anywhere. I had done a lot of research before going there, so I had a good idea of the style I was looking for. I wanted to make sure the quality was high - and I wasn't disappointed. Bill Hancock helped me to find the styles and trims I wanted and made helpful suggestions along the way. The cabinetry was ready when he said it would be and delivered on time and in perfect condition.

From the first visit to the showroom to the installation of the cabinets, everything went so well. Professional, courteous and clean are the adjectives I would use to describe the gentlemen on the project.

My overall experience working with Bill Hancock has been excellent. He strives to give his clients the best possible kitchen. On every single kitchen that I have worked on that Bill has designed, I have been very satisfied with the quality every single time and my clients have been also.

After the very knowledgable design phase with Bill, cabinets were ordered and arrived as scheduled with only one issue (see discussion below). Cabinets are superior quality and even though sold at substantial discount, price reflects the quality. The options are extensive, which we appreciated. The only negative was hardware, which is provided gratis and the selection reflects this. We choose to use a separate vendor for the hardware, so this added a bit to the cost.We have renovated kitchen before, so we knew that there is *always* an issue with one or more cabinets, and that a homeowner must plan for this. (Any vendor which claims there won't be any problems is simply lying.) We judge a cabinet vendor in part by how easily and swiftly replacement(s) are provided when there is an issue. This time the dishwasher front panel had to be replaced. Bill had used measurements provided by the dishwasher manufacturer, but it didn't look right when installed. He came out and measured himself, and ordered the replacement without any question. Ultimately there was some delay beyond Bill's control, but the replacement was provided well before the renovation was completed. (Top marks here.)

It was great experience. I would absolutely use again. Do: make sure the installation guys agree to come back to finish the job. I had to privately hire someone else to come put on one door. I could have escalated the problem but I was having a party and couldn't wait any longer. Do: use Bill Hancock!! He will not try to over sell you, he sticks to your budget! do: allow a ton of time. I was there 4 hours ordering.

My contractor recommended I go see Bill Hancock at Direct Depot in advance of doing demolition in the Kitchen our 1910 home. We know we were working with some tricky conditions: incorporating an existing brick chimney and some unknown conditions due to the yet to be demolished multiple layers of wall board, plaster and lathe. We worked with Bill in the showroom and remotely via go to meeting through several (at least 3) designs to arrive at a final plan. Bill tirelessly revised and gave great suggestions while always allowing us freedom to arrive at our own solutions. On Bill's recommendation we worked with the appliance showroom and arrived at a Stainless Fridfidaire Professional package and commercial style range hood. The team in the appliance showroom helped us through the changes and assured the countertop range and wall oven combo would work given our unique project conditions. With the existing brick and quartersawn oak shaker style cabinets by Starmark anchoring the design we now had to begin to work on tile and countertop selections. We had been pretty comfortable up until this point that we were on the right track with design finishes and styles but admit freely with tile and countertops we were out of our depths. Again upon Bill's recommendation we saw Steven and Lorenzo in the tile showroom. Steven a New York School of Interior Design graduate knew precisely what we were trying to accomplish with the renovation. He and Lorenzo were able to pull some completed job photos to help us visualize materials and colors in place. We ultimately selected entire walls of white subway tile, honed black absolute granite countertops and 12X24 floor tile in a running bond pattern. Beyond this Steven directed us to great online resources for period appropriate lighting and a specialty sink for the powder room. The exceptional service and unparalleled expertise provided by this team of professionals was imperative to us as homeowners. Undertaking this renovation was very consuming and there was real potential for missteps: This team along with an incredibly talented contractor made the end result great! Since this renovation we bought an 1889 Victorian Revival Beach House that needed a new kitchen. A completely different look and feel but the same great experience from all. This time Main Street Glass (also under roof) glazed kitchen cabinet doors. Don't know when we will get to do another one but when we do we know who to go see!

I thought I was going to a reputable business where I would get a kitchen design consultation; instead experienced a whole lot of frustration. After all the frustration, in the end I never got a kitchen design. Instead, the designer (Russ Yates) emailed me 2 WEEKS LATER telling me that my kitchen was too challenging for him to design. Also, not to mention that he specifically advised that without a commitment to buy cabinets, that Direct Depot would not send someone to measured my kitchen! Honestly, one of the worst experiences I've had in my journey of remodeling my kitchen!
