CUSTOM AIR CONDITIONING

The Custom Air Conditioning crew was amazing! The work was fast (3 days for 4 floors, 10 rooms) and super clean. We had bids to install the ductless units but decided to spend a little more for Fred because he has a way of getting ducting into the walls and ceiling. We now just have small vents in the ceilings and floors. The 7 man crew was very nice and accommodating and hardly felt like they were there in the end. Very impressed with the clean, fast work. Would highly recommend!

They did a beautiful job. I don't remember the cost but I remember feeling they were reasonable. The service man were on time they worked quickly and they did not leave stuff everywhere. I was never unhappy with their service in any way. I would use them again.

I called Custom at 8 AM and a technician was here before 11 AM. The person answering the phone at Custom was great and called me in advance to tell me when the technician was scheduled to arrive. He came on time,diagnosed the problem quickly, and fixed the AC. This is the company that also originally installed the air conditioning in my old 1928 house ten years ago. They did a great job then and their service is superb. I would recommend them without hesitation! Nice people who do fantastic work!!!

My husband called and spoke to a woman. We have a cape with central air and the airflow upstairs is limited at best. We have tried maneuvering duct directionals with no improvement. We needed someone to tell us if we were even turning flow directors in the right direction! While explaining the layout of the house, and the air flow issue to the woman on the phone, a gentleman in the background was saying he would not come out and try to figure out how an ac system someone else installed works. We explained to the woman that we were new homeowners, and did not know if it was a problem with the system, vents, ductwork, or quite frankly a problem with us not knowing how a central ac system works. Diagnostic work was needed. In the background comments from the man continued about how he was not going to tell us how to operate a system...it wasn't his job to figure out what a system someone else installed was doing Again, from the background (was the phone on speaker?) the gentleman said if we wanted an estimate on a new system he would be glad to provide it, however he was not getting involved in telling us how a system works, or trying to figure out a system someone else installed! Said it wasn't his line of work to come out and tell us how the system works. I would love to know how would he be able to gauge the need for a new system without running diagnostics on the one we currently have? Would he honestly just assume it was not a broken part and not check? Does the company just install new systems without diagnostic work? Apparently he missed the part about limited airflow? The diagnostic work? How could he (whoever he was, as the gentleman never picked up the phone and spoke directly to my husband...just yelled from the background) offer an estimate on a new system without coming to the home to determine what the issue was? Businesses are entitled to their own policies in terms of estimates, etc. HOWEVER, it is unacceptable to not get on the phone and just shout in the background! Nor is it acceptable to just offer estimates on a new system without being willing to come out and look at the existing one

It was a very difficult job. I had talked to a number of contractors over the years who could not do the job at least in the way that I found acceptable. These folks really knew what they were doing. They did a fabulous job. They stand behind their product.

I have used them every year for as long as I can remember. It is very easy to schedule appointments with them. I continue to use their services because they are thorough and local. Everything has always gone smoothly with the company.

We received estimates from several contractors for the installation of a C/A unit -- but the professionalism displayed by Fred was what sold us. Even more, his estimate was slightly under what other had quoted. He was very candid in speaking with us about our options and was extremely knowledgeable about the product. When it came time to schedule the job -- Custom Air was flexible and accommodating. The crew that installed the unit, was very professional and detail oriented -- and cleaned up after themselves, post install. We also have an older home, so they worked with the space they had and did their best to refrain from taking up too much closet space. We are now preparing for another move and have already started the ball rolling with Fred and his crew. We highly recommend Custom Air and look forward to working with them the second time around!

I have no complaints. I've had my air conditioner for 8 years and this is the first time anybody from thier company has had to come out. I had no problem, I just went 8 years with no problems and wanted it to be checked. They do a perfect job with top quality work. The A/C is so cold you could freeze the house. I have recommended him to others who also think his work is great! I would recommend them to anybody. You cannot find better! This company is the best.

I requested an estimate for installing a new central AC system into my residence. They were very punctual, knowledgable, and helpful with answering my questions. I elected to hire another contractor.

We just bought our 1730 farm house in Madison, NJ 8 months ago and fell in love with it's charm and character. But the character meant that it also had window unit's and no central air. We honestly thought that it not having any central air until now meant it just wasn't possible. But after receiving a mailer from Custom Air stating that they specialized in central air installation in old homes we decided to call for an estimate. The owner of the company came out and confirmed that we could in deed have Central Air. After I did a little jig, he said he would send me an estimate. The estimate was received in a few days, and once we signed and sent in a deposit he came back out for one final meeting to map out the plan for the system. From there a time was scheduled to do the work which was facilitated by the lovely ladies in the office. They guys showed up on time and moved into to our house for a 3 day job. I have to say that they always said it was going to be a 3 day job, but I fully expected it to take longer...it didn't! All the workers were friendly, respectful, clean and efficient. They showed up every morning on time, did a great job, and cleaned up after themselves! Also, the system they created in our attic which pipes through our closets look beautiful. They obviously take pride in what they do and think about the home and how it flows. I want to thank Custom Air for all their hard work, the great people they employ and for bringing our old home into the 21st century!

They did a good job. I spent $6000 on that work. They were nice and did a neat job. They did it very quickly. They were punctual and professional in every way.

Fine. The technician was able to quickly replace the motor. He also add freon free of cost.

It went beyond my expectations! This company has been in business since 1945, and after using Custom Air Conditioning you can see why. Mr. Fred Romano came to my house and thoroughly evaluated what I would require for a new 2-zone AC unit and new furnace. Within two days, I received a clearly typed estimate of the work, including what rebates I would receive (by the way, they take care of the paperwork for these rebates). The work was then scheduled for the following week, but in the interim, Mr Romano returned with his associate to double check on the specifications required for the work. At this time, because we still had no air conditioning, Custom Air was kind enough to add some "freon" to our old central air conditioner so we would not suffer from the heat while we waited for them to start work. This was added at no charge which was extremely appreciated. The complete job took exactly two days (as promised), as a whole crew from the company worked on the AC and furnace replacements. They came on time each day and were extremely professional and neat as they cleaned up after each of the two days. Once I saw what they had accomplished, I was amazed at what they had actually done in such a short time period. I also appreciated the fact that the cost originally quoted was exactly the final cost. There were no last minute "added costs" once the work stated as often occurs with other servicesproviders. All the final paper work required for the job was submitted to me within two days following work completion. This company is obviously very much on top of things in terms of administrative services. I would definitely recommend Custom Air to prospective homeowners.

The bid that they gave me was $13,000. Everything was fine and they were very knowledgeable.

I had received a flyer from Custom Air Conditioning in the mail and they were one of 4 companies to give me estimates. The other 3 companies all recommended the high velocity systems to retrofit the a/c in my old house, which were much more expensive. Custom Air gave a quote for a conventional system. Surprisingly, they were also the only company who didn't need to cut extra holes in my walls to run the ductwork. The installers were great, the ductwork had to run through bedroom closets and they suggested a configuration that would leave me more space. They were professional and cleaned up after themselves. There were a couple of minor issues with the bedroom ducts and the attic scuttle that caused the job not to pass inspection the first time. Custom Air promptly sent a handyman service to correct the issues at their cost. They also came back to tweek the balance of the system once it was in use for a few weeks. They took care of all rebates. Overall it was a very positive experience.

The unit they put in saved me a lot on my heating bills. I am very pleased with this company and I will continue to use them.

We were glad to have Custom take care of this problem. They came out on time and took care of the situation very quickly. We liked the way they cleaned up when they were done and they followed up to make sure everything was running smoothly. We definitely recommend this contractor and will continue to use them in the future.

The workers were very friendly. They were great and they did all the paperwork for rebates. That was an important factor of helping us with our decision of who we were going to hire. It saved us a lot of time and money!

THEY CAME IN AND TOOK THE OLD STUFF OUT AND REPLACED IT WITH NEW. WHEN THEY WERE DONE EVERYTHING WAS NICE, NEAT AND CLEAN. THEY GAVE ME A FREE QUOTE. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN. I RECOMMEND THEM.

THEY WERE EXCELLENT AND I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THEM. THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. I GOT A PROMPT RESPONSE FROM THEM WHEN I CALLED, THEY STAYED WITHIN THE ESTIMATE, AND THEY GOT THE WORK DONE ON TIME. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO EVERYONE.

THIS COMPANY IS VERY GOOD. I'VE BEEN WITH THIS COMPANY A FEW YEARS, BUT I HAVEN'T COMPARED THE PRICE. I THINK THE PRICE IS ALRIGHT. THEY ARE PRETTY PROMPT. THEY COME OUT THE DAY AFTER I CALL.
