We were so surprised at the high level of professionalism in this entire experience. Home buying has been so stressful, and we've come across some unprofessionalism in the process, but Michael and his team were SO incredible. Pros: -Making an appointment was easy (not so with other inspectors) -We received emails and texts about the appointment, the contract, and tips for a more succesful inspection -We requested and received a complimentary neighborhood environmental report -Michael arrived 30 minutes early to inspect the exterior -Michael explained everything to us in a clear and thorough manner and he stopped to ask if we had any questions -Michael didn't just teach us about this particular property, he taught us things about caring for properties in general -We received a pdf of the report within 6 hours or so of our leaving the property! We also received a large binder, the Home Inspection Guide, which we will likely continue to refer to because of the amount of information about caring for and managing homes. -Best quote of the day came from the seller's agent, "I'm just following you around because I'm learning so much!" Cons: -Michael found that there were a lot of issues with the house, which, of course, is not his fault! I don't think the sellers will be very happy, but we are so pleased with Michael's services.

As first-time home buyers, we conducted a thorough search for an inspector who would give us the bad news along with the good. Unfortunately, in the case of the first house we were planning to buy, the news was almost entirely bad. We wish that had not been the case, but thanks to Michael's thoroughness, we were confident in our decision to walk away from that house. When we found another house six weeks later, we engaged Michael again...and he conducted the inspection on Memorial Day at our request! This time, his thoroughness helped us feel confident in our decision to move forward. In our situation, it was helpful to contrast his feedback on the second house to his feedback on the first, and having worked with him twice, I can recommend him with double the confidence. Note that it is worth taking notes on the locations of electrical defects, as Michael will not indicate them in his report or via e-mail afterward. We wish that we had known this in advance so that we could have better directed our electrician afterward, but we understand that Michael has seen sellers use the location information to obscure issues, e.g., "take covers from properly covered one junction box and used them to cover the box I indicated and or played around with wires in one electric receptacle to make the tester give a correct indication only to cause issues with other electric receptacles on the same circuit."

Michael did an awesome job. He is extremely thorough and knowledgable. You can find cheaper inspectors, but you'd be making a mistake. When you are spending hundreds of thousands or more on a house, a few hundred more for a great inspector is, in my opinion, the prudent move. He answered every question I had, and he will not buckle under pressure from realtors or others to sugar coat things so the transaction proceeds quickly. Highly recommend.

Michael was very professional and understood all facets of house problems, I would recommend him to anyone purchasing a property. He picks up on things others may miss.

Michael was fantastic. Very prompt and great communication prior to the visit. He was wonderful in pointing out all of areas of concern in the house (and also the good things as well). He was extremely through and paused frequently to ask if we had any questions. Any and all questions were answered courteously , professionally and thoroughly (or at least as through as one can be on a walk through inspection). We really felt as though Michael was working for us and didn't sugar coat or gloss over anything. Report out was provided promptly via mail and email. We would have absolutely NO HESITATION in hiring Michael again and will refer him to all our friends.

Mike is super thorough. He raised a few red flags which turned out to be nothing. But i'd rather be made aware of every potential issue and then be assured that everything is okay rather than miss anything. As an aside: Prior to Mike we owned a home that passed property inspection with flying colors. Turns out that the house had major issues with the foundation and had to be essentially reconstructed from the ground up. We sued the property inspector - turns out he didn't even have a license. I could've saved eight years of litigation and stress and around $200,000 in out of pocket expense if i had hired a property inspector of Mike's calibre to begin with. Don't make the same mistake i did - spend the money on a thorough home inspection.

I was blown away by how thorough Mike is. He was like the terminator spotting things all over the room, some things even hidden behind furniture as soon as he stepped in the room. The then explained in detail every single thing in detail to back up his findings. I never know who to trust and if the reviews are real but I 100% am a real customer, first time home buyer and had no idea what to look for. After he was complete I not only felt I was in the ebst hands, but felt as if he educated us so much I can do my own home inspection. He it truly for the buyer, he wont even speak with the sellers realtor because he represents you and doesnt want to answer questions the realtor can use against us. I realize why some charge $300, and others charge more. You get what you pay for, and I feel with his expertise, less than 24 hour turn around time on a full detailed report, and the fact he also brings along a specialist in pest control you truly get the full service needed to comfortably buy a home. He also inspects the entire propoerty and does not charge extra to inspect detached garages, sheds, etc. If its on the property he inspects it. He found a lot of things that either will save us thousands or will help get the things fixed by the seller needed to be fixed. I am not typical someone who writes reviews but want to help anyone out there like me who didnt know where to begin or what makes one inspector better than the other. Old or new, big or small, first time home purchaser or seasoned vet, he is the guy you will definitely feel you got your moneys worth with.

This is the 4th house we've purchased and have had many interesting experiences with each house. Michael was early for the inspection, was very professional and clearly represented us as the buyers of the house. He has an extensive background in home inspection (teaches courses in county colleges) and taught us many more things to look for when buying a house. The inspection took approximately 2 hours. The site report (a 2-inch binder full of information, not just a checklist) was provided at the end of the inspection and a follow up report with photographs were sent a couple of days after the inspection. We are very satisfied with his service and went ahead and purchased the house. Our family has been enjoying the location and our new home immensely. We definitely recommend Accurate Inspections to everyone we know and will use them again if we purchase another house. In the meantime we wish Michael and his company continued success.

This was my second time using Accurate Inspections. Michael did an excellent job just as he did last time. Potential problems as well as current ones were documented and explained. I just closed on the home today. I hope this is the last time I move, but if not, I will call Accurate Inspections to look over any potential home.

The experience was outstanding he was incredibly thorough and detail oriented. Michael went through every nook and cranny of the home and explained items each step of the way. One thing is to have someone tell you "xyz" quite another to have them show you, feel it and experience it. A home is a tremendous investment and perhaps one of --if not your most expensive purchase in your life. With Michael as my inspector I felt incredible comfortable that I was provided the most accurate feedback on my home to determine if the home truly made sense for me. I left with what I considered a 2-3 year plan. The must have fixes to negotiate with the seller and the nice to that help us as buyers within the following years. I highly recommend!

Even though you may be excited to buy a particular home, you must be realistic about its condition, especially those aspects that aren't immediately apparent to the average buyer. Michael approached this inspection with our best interests in mind. There was no question that WE were his customers. Although some issues in the home disappointed us, at least we are aware of the existing or potential problems. This is the second time we've hired Accurate Inspections and we would certainly use the company again and highly recommend his service.

Michael was recommended by our attorney, who considers Accurate Inspections the most extensive and thorough, BUYER CENTERED home inspection company in our area (New Jersey). Michael provides a narrative report rather than the standard check-off report provided by most of the home inspection companies referred by realtors. Let's face it, realtors want the sale of a home to go through. Why would they refer a home inspector who might divulge information about a home that would enlighten the buyer to deal breaking, costly and unknown potential problems? Michael works for the buyer--not the realtor--and delivers an unbiased, honest, straightforward report about the property regardless of positive or negative information. We wanted to be informed about the condition of the home and property, and Michael did just that. He left the decision on whether to buy it or not to us. We were blinded by the excitement of buying a home and were ignorant about some of the not-so-evident conditions--several of them involving life and health issues, i.e. carbon monoxide and mold. They sellers were not amenable to fixing the problems. We were disappointed, but because of the extensive information we had at hand we decided not to buy a money pit. Michael is good! He arrived little early and already inspected the outside. He took time explaining every problem and how to fix it. His knowledge is exceptional. He also pointed out good things and made u confident buying an older home that needed some work. I would use him again if needed.

Michael from Accurate Inspections was a great home inspector! As first time home owners, he put us at ease and answered all of our questions. His knowledge about the home was quickly apparent and he earned our trust immediately. His inspection was very thorough and he took care to ensure that we examined all the items alongside him. He explained his findings as we went along and clearly explained the level of concern with each item. The report was downloadable that same evening. His prompt turnaround allowed us to discuss the findings with our attorney within 24 hours and settle with the sellers the next day. Setting up the appointment was easy and the office staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Accurate Inspections also provided a complimentary Neighborhood Environment report and a complete binder with all the finding from the inspection. The binder includes information above and beyond just the report and will prove valuable to us as we maintain the home of the years to come. I contacted Michael from Accurate Inspections the week of August 5 to do an inspection on a house I was planning to purchase. Surprisingly, he works on weekends and made an appointment to meet me on the afternoon of Sunday, August 11. Michael inspected every aspect of the house from the basement up to the attic crawl space. I already knew there were a few issues, but he discovered other problems that I hadn't noticed. He wrote up a very thorough document, complete with pictures, explaining his observations in each part of the house. As we went through each room, he explained items that were either unsafe or not up to current standards, and he then allowed me to follow up with any questions on the issues at hand. Within a few hours, Michael emailed me a PDF containing the complete inspection report. I chose Accurate Inspections because of the positive comments I read online. The quality of the service he performed for me definitely matches that of the other online reviews. I was extremely pleased with Michael's professionalism, and I will definitely work with him again if I require another home inspection.

We believe he saved us from purchasing a home with severe structural damage. We are so happy we dodged a bullet and will use him again when we buy a home. He took his time and answered all our questions. This was a very good experience. His costs are higher than some others but you get what you pay for.

Very accurate and professional. Mike really knew what he was talking about and gave us a binder of our inspection notes at the end of our inspection. We also received our full typed up report that same night. I would highly recommend Accurate Inspections to anyone in need of a home inspection.

We used accurate inspection after not being happy with our realtor-recommended inspector. Accurate was great, and although pricier than other inspectors, I would highly recommend them again. The inspector was highly professional and detailed in his assessment. He insisted that we needed a new roof, even though our agent and the first home inspector said since it wasn't leaking, we could never ask for it as part of our negotiations with the sellers. Good thing we listened to Accurate because that old roof would have never made it through Hurricane Irene, which made landfall just a few months after we bought the house. He also brought up other things that the first inspector hadn't mentioned, including some plumbing issues in the bathroom, and a tree that was too close to the house and needed to be cut down. These were not deal-breakers, but certainly helped us when negotiating with the sellers, and ensured that there were no surprises when we moved in. I would not, however, recommend the mold assessment part that Accurate offers.I wouldn't recommend getting any type of mold analysis, but as first-time homebuyer with very small children, we heard mold and we were highly concerned although our first inspector said it was limited to very small areas in the basement we could handle ourselves. Accurate charged an additional several hundred dollars ($500 I think, but am not entirely sure) for the assessment, took some samples and sent me a report. The report was written in highly technical language and I was told to call the laboratory to have someone there explain the results and was sort of left on my own for a crucial part of this whole process. I think if you pay that much money, you should be given something in plain English that explains what you're dealing with and makes some recommendations. After being transferred to a bunch of people at the lab, someone on the phone said that we basically had to open some windows, throw out a hall rug and maybe have the basement professionally treated for good measure. The mold analysis was not performed on the same day of the inspection. Overall though, if I ever buy another house, I would call Accurate in a second.

Michael took us around with him from room to room as he inspected the home. His comments were spot on. He gave us a written report, too, but I found the comments during the live walk-through most helpful. There were many very helpful and insightful comments, but i found his observations regarding the mold to be most helpful. And his office staff did a good job of explaining the limitations of his work before we contracted with him, so we knew what to expect, we knew that we might find additional issues down the road, which we did. As Michael's staff said-- you never know all the issues with a home until you live there, some things take time to learn. We've since learned that our fireplace chimney is probably unsafe (although the furnace chimney is absolutely ok) though that's probably the case with most brick fireplace chimneys that are several decades old as is ours. We're in the process of getting a wood stove insert which will be installed with it's own flue liner going down through our fireplace chimney. That will make it safe, and will provide an alternative heat source in case of a power outage, is environmentally friendly, etc.
