Clay came for the estimate shortly after I made the appointment. He was right on time. He took a thorough look at our current equipment which was 21 years old. He suggested several options to improve heat and air flow and to make the units more efficient. He is very approachable and answered all the questions and concerns I had and was very good at explaining the "why" and the "how". He also mentioned the energy rebates that were available. He quoted me a price separately for the upstairs and downstairs units and told me that we could chose to have each one installed at a different time. We chose to have both units replaced at the same time and Clays workers showed up early on the Monday. Mike and Ryan were very professional and punctual throughout the whole duration of the job. They were very careful to lay down drop cloths on floors and stairways. They were very polite, courteous and always available to answer questions or address concerns. Due to snow and ice, the work took la little longer than expected, but Clay or his foreman John came by every day to inspect and even offered us space heaters if it got to be too cold in the house while the work was being done. The final cost was exactly what Clay had quoted, and he was very accommodating. We are extremely satisfied with the service and the quality of the equipment installed. Our heaters work so much faster and more efficiently than the old ones. They will be sending workers closer to the summer to make sure the Air Conditioning is working properly as well. We are very happy with the service provided and would definitely use them again in the future and highly recommend Clays Climate Control. Mike and Ryan did an excellent job and were always very concerned that things were being done right.

I have been using them for seven or eight years. Their prices have gone up.

First of all, Clay came out and gave a thorough assessment of my home and my options. He provided a very competitive price for installation of top notch equipment. The end result was fantastic. The system and new duct work are beautifully laid out. Everything works perfectly. Clay was extremely responsive, prompt and helpful in all phases of the project. His team know their business. I highly recommend Clay's. A++

Clay's is without a doubt the best HVAC contractor in the area. Estimate was provided by Clay and he spent about an hour at my home going over the details of the job during the visit. I can be somewhat of a demanding customer and Clay was patient, courteous, and professional when it came to answering all my questions and discussing the details of job. The job in my home was a pretty significant undertaking particularly since it was a retrofit (i.e. NOT new contruction), a complete tear out and replacement of the existing equipment, and some things were being relocated to other areas of the home. On the first day of the job Clay and his foreman did a walkthrough of the job with me. Due to scheduling and weather issues it was two months from time of estimate to job start and surprisingly Clay remembered every detail of my home and the job! On the first day of work, tear out day, there were no less than 7 workers present to complete the task. That's serious commitment to getting the job done! The job required access to every area of my home...attic, crawlspace, and all living spaces. We were without heat for the first three days of the install and Clay's left us with 4 electric space heaters which surprisingly kept the house quite comfortable. After each work day the crew would clean their work area and the parts of the home they accessed. My wife would comment each night when she returned form work that you couldn't even tell they had been there. Work crews promptly arrived at my home at 7AM each day and departed between 3-4PM depending on what they needed to finish up. Would like to also mention that I have had some interaction with the service team (Mike and Matt) to install an upgraded control board and complete system start-up in the spring. The service dept. is just as good as the installation team! Bottom line: high quality installation, professional service both pre and post installation, courteous and respectful employees, and Clay's delivered on everything agreed upon in our contract. While the cost of our particular installation was high that was largely a function of the scope of work and quality of equipment purchased. Clay's wasn't the lowest bid but their estimate was perfectly reasonable. As they say, you get what you pay for. Don't undervalue the quality of any HVAC installation because that matters most. Just a general FYI our old AC unit was 35 years old (i.e. very inefficient) and ducting in our home was terrible. Electric costs to cool our 2,400 sq ft home in the summer used to run $300-$400. As installed, the new system is approximately 14-14.5 SEER and that has translated into a $100-200 monthly savings on our electric bill.

Matt the service technician was earlier than expected. He called to make sure it was ok to come early. That was fine with me. He was very nice and did a full inspection or our unit. He was able to adjust the airflow to make it more energy efficient. It was nice to have someone explain everything he did and observed. He took temp readings from all the vents and was very professional. I would recommend Clay's team to anyone. Thank you guys!!! A+

I switched to Clay's last Fall, after I got frustrated with the largest HVAC contractor in our area. I could not be happier. After 27 years of home ownership, Clay's is the nicest, most responsive and highest quality HVAC contractor I have ever used. In the course of two service calls from me (my first two, so I was a total stranger for the first one) they have really impressed me. After the first repair, I thought maybe it was a fluke, but they just did it again! Here are my observations: 1. They are friendly when you call. They seem glad you called. Even when it was my first call. 2. They schedule a service call quickly. 3. The service tech shows up when they promised, or before. 4. The service tech is friendly. He seems glad to be there to help. 5. He does the work when they said, which is usually right away. If it has to be rescheduled, the tech tells you why, and he seems kind of apologetic. 6. The service tech is skilled; he does not have to show up with an apprentice or other helpers unless they are needed. 7. The service tech does great work; every fix has been perfect. 8. They do not try to exaggerate the problem, and they don't try to up-sell you "repairs" that you don't need. 9. They clean up the mess when they're done. 10. They bill you a fair price for the work. I know I sound like a commercial for these guys, or a shill for the owners, but I'm not -- that's really the way I feel. These guys are just the best, and their service techs seem to be as nice as the people you talk to in the office. I can usually find something to complain about, but Clay's has impressed me twice now, and they deserve a shout-out. I am totally satisfied.
