SUPERIOR LAWN SPRINKLERS

Description of Work: I used Superior Lawn Sprinklers for 4 years. They were good for turn-on and turn-off service. However, my was 5 years old when I moved into my house. I noticed that my water meter was running always when the sprinkler system was charged but not necessarily running. This is a good indicator of a leak. Superior could not find the leak. They suggested putting a master valve on the main line. I found out later that while cutting in the valve the technician let PVC pipe saw shavings fall into the line. The next time the sprinkler came on the shavings were flushed out to the valves and caused them to not seat properly. The result was that several of the valves were leaking which caused low pressure on the heads and inadequate watering. |I called Superior about the problem and Harold was very rude to me over the phone saying that they were very busy and could not come for a few weeks. This was a big problem because the first half of the summer in 2013 was very hot and I have a lot of ornamental shrubs that need watering. |When Superior did come they changed another valve, charged me $150, which did not fix the problem. I called Harold again and he said it was my controller and that I needed to spend $600.00 on a new unit and that it would be another two weeks before they could come to my home. Having a little experience with industrial controllers I knew there was nothing wrong with the unit. It is at this point that I called another sprinkler system company. |This other company that I now use came out on Memorial Day because I was so desperate to get my system operating properly because of the heat. The owner of the company went through all of my 14 zones. Five of the valves had white PVC shavings lodged in the seats which caused the valve not to seat properly when closed. The owner of the company cleaned all the valves. After this the system was working properly and I was able to begin a proper watering schedule. The man also inspected my controller and confirmed that nothing was wrong with the unit. |I discontinued using Superior Lawn Sprinklers at this point. As I mentioned above, they are ok for turn-on and turn-off service. I would not recommend them for and maintenance. I did not use them for installation so I can not comment on that portion of their service.

Description of Work: full test of existing system, adjusted and recalibrated direction and timing of irrigation, replaced a few broken heads.

Description of Work: They want to make money fast. They charged $95 just to come out. He was nice and polite, but being nice doesn't make up for being incompetant. He did 20 minutes of digging and the rest of the time he walked around. He reconnected 3 pipes.

Description of Work: Placed a total of 30 spray/pop-up heads on front lawn, plus electric irrigation controller and master valve, rain sensor, back flow device, electric station valves, 2 underground valve boxes. Used RainBird materials. Also will perform first shut off for free. Turn on in spring will cost $95 (10% off if you pay for turn on/turn off at the same time). Finished by about 3:00 p.m. that day. They provided copies of all their certifications, licenses, etc. Detailed invoice. Very professional operation.

Description of Work: My lawn sprinklers were smashed and not working after they froze up during the winter, so they went through and replaced everything including all the pipes. They also fixed the timer. I have 10 zones and 8 heads.
