I contracted All State on April 21 to move my goods from Norman, Oklahoma to Cambridge, Massachusetts,. After giving a detailed and accurate inventory of my goods, I was given a "binding estimate" of $4,869.05, which included storage costs. I informed All State that I did not yet have an address or move-in date, because I have a temporary position lasting only 1 year and would be living in university accommodations that would not be assigned until May. I was told that the standard practice is to put the latest possible move-in date on the contract and then arrange for an earlier delivery when more information is available. The carrier contracted by All State Van Lines, Relo Van Lines, engaged in a number of disreputable business practices, which included pressuring me into signing new documents at a time when I was not in a position to decline. They also weighed my goods at a station I was not able to verify, and claiming that the actual weight was significantly higher than the "binding estimate" and would come to a total cost of $8,059.08. Later I was informed that the charges included "bulky item" premiums without explanation, as well as packing materials that were not actually used. Representatives of All State informed me that the weight discrepancy warranted a "mandatory reweigh" to verify the actual weight of my goods prior to delivery. However, representatives of Relo Van Lines refused to abide by this policy, and All State representatives proved unwilling or unable to bing their own contracted carrier into compliance. I received access to my new apartment in early June and on June 5 informed All State representatives that I would like to schedule a delivery as soon as possible. For several weeks I spoke to several All State representatives, who repeatedly delayed delivery. Finally, on July 5 I was informed by All State that delivery would be impossible before September. On July 24 I received a message from Relo Van Lines--who were supposed to be conduct all communications through All State--who threatened to withhold delivery of my goods until 2018 or later unless I waived my request for a reweigh. I complained about this behavior to All State representatives, and while they agreed that this was unprofessional behavior, they have still been unable or unwilling to secure a delivery date. As of today, Sept. 7, I have been actively attempting to secure delivery of my goods for three months, with repeated delays. Being without our belongings, I have been forced to pay for additional accommodations for myself and my family during that time, amounting to $6,318.00 and nearly $1,000 in temporary furnishings. The cost of the move has been inflated, as compared to the "binding estimate" I was quoted in April, by over $3,000 ($4,869.05 to $8,059.08). This includes over $2,000 in storage costs that I neither wanted nor needed, resulting solely from delays caused by Relo and All State despite my best efforts to secure delivery. Reviewing these circumstances, I can only conclude that All State has been acting in bad faith. I was intentionally misled by the initiating agent into signing an agreement that would allow All State to profit from the months of delays that I have experienced. All State was unwilling or unable to curb the unconscionable behavior of the carrier that All State contracted. I still do not have a delivery date, even though it is Sept. 7 and therefore beyond the original contracted delivery window. And the combined costs of All State's increasing price and the temporary measures I have had to take for my family and I to subsist over the last three months, have amounted to nearly triple the cost of what All State quoted. In short, I am suffering--and continue to suffer--from All State's failures to abide by the terms of our agreement, or to prioritize the completion of its contracted responsibilities.

Initial contact was great but after they got the deposit it was like pulling out rusty nails. I could not get a firm pick up date until 2 days before hand. The movers themselves were terrific but All State Van Lines tried to collect another $300.00 over the phone after I had got confirmation of the total cost from the movers themselves and had the certified check in hand. It was not until I threatened to call the police department did they back down. NEVER would I recommend them to anyone. The move was from Roanoke Rapids, NC to Port Orange Fl.
Description of Work: Moving company. Hired another company after being told they did not.

Still waiting for All State Van Lines to confirm the temp credits - a month later.
Description of Work: My order was to go to 2 locations-Delray Beach Cubesmart and my son's villa for 10x10x8. All went well til the Quality Assurance guy called my son rather than me and they double-charged my credit card. Got c.c. company to remove second charge as unauthorized. Now a month later I am still waiting for them to credit the initial deposit as I cancelled the move. This was the second mover that I tried to hire. The first one, SML recommended by Cubesmart of Delray, took order/deposit and then didn't have a trailer truck so I cancelled and got my deposit back. I am now suing another company in a dispute about pricing - changed the price four times and I had just about enough of moving companies in Florida.

It started off with them calling me several times a day asking me the same questions over and over by different people, because I wasn't going to be present when they picked up my furniture I had to sign something allowing them access to the storage unit. I did that and after I was on the road driving across country they called again because they lost the paper work and wanted me to re send it as I was driving thru Montana. Then they told me that they were sure my furniture weighed more than 10,000 LBS and I would have to pay another deposit to make sure they had enough room on the truck, they never saw my stuff so they had no idea how much was there, I had it moved there by other movers who weighed it and I told them this but that made no difference to them. so I had to send another deposit of almost $600. they promised me we would have our furniture between the 30th of Nov and the 4th of Dec it is now the 6th of Dec and we aren't scheduled to get our furniture until the 12th to 14th. we were given several excuses the last being that the truck our furniture is on is being shared with another customer and the other customer cant afford to pay their bill, so I have to wait until they can pay so their furniture can be off loaded first. this is costing me $200.00 a day for a hotel and food plus the rent for a house I cant live in until I get my stuff. the rent for two weeks is another $900.00. when I ask why they didn't unload the other customers stuff into a storage unit and deliver mine the answer I got was that they didn't want to cost the other customer more money because he couldn't afford it. LIKE I CAN. that is the last excuse I got but the truth is when my stuff was picked up the driver said I'LL see you in two and a half weeks. can you guess how long it will be from the time they picked up my stuff till they drop it off. when I told the driver it better not be two and a half weeks that my delivery date was in a week he said oh yeah I see that and then hung up, I was on the phone with him as I was out of state visiting my family before I continued on to Florida. I intend on taking them to small claims court to recoup my losses. I would not recommend these movers to anyone EVER. they are not licensed to move people { I did not know this when I hired them } so they use another company to move the furniture and then claim it's not their fault, but All State are the people I hired and are ultimately responsible. and incase you were wondering they said they will only reimburse me $30.00 a day for me and my wife to rent a room and eat, it cost me $20.00 a day just for my dog to stay at the Hotel. these people are nasty, ignorant and rude to deal with and refuse to take responsibility for their actions I say again DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS. Did I mention they also set up a shipper for 2 vehicles that were delivered 7 days late also.

They were all very cordial initially. They were supposed to come Monday or Tuesday and then promised Wednesday morning. The truck that showed up Wednesday was already partially loaded with someone eles's belongings and they took some of our things. On Thursday it took them another 4 hours and the truck wasn't big enough. We told them initially we would require a semi as our house is large. My husband and I ended up having to rent a truck and move the rest of our belongings and tow our car to Florida ourselves. There is a lot of belongings that are damaged and I have been trying to contact them all day to ask them how to file a claim on the damages. Now that the move is complete it is very hard to get them to respond.
