Drywall over the staircase. Chris was punctual, reasonably priced and professional. I am happy to have found a reliable person that I can contact for most types of jobs.

We requested an estimate. They showed up on time, reviewed the site thoroughly, and provided a written estimate.

Chris was very professional and trustworthy. He has very good craftmanship and knows his job very well. He offered many suggestions and was very honest. His woodworking skills are extremely good, and we are satisfied with the overall project. Crown moldings, base and trim were installed with great skill and expertise. His prices were competitive however the most reasonably priced compared to other contractors and woodworkers out there. We were very pleased, and will consider to hire him again in the future for other projects.

I received three quotes and Chris was by far the most reasonable. He identified a way to solve the problem i had with my loose screens without having to spend much money. By comparison the other two quotes had no really good suggestions to fix my screen and quoted me about $900. Chris also arrived showing me the material he would use and called me back the same day after he check out the price for materials. I would definitely use him again.

Pleasant meeting; but absolutely NO follow-up

I left a message for Chris and he called back right away. He showed up and was on time for his appointment (which is more than I can say for a lot of the contractors I have dealt with). He assessed the situation and agreed it would be a bit challenging to fix the ceiling without ripping most of it out (which is what I would have done) and same with the walls. My heart sank. He gave me a good estimate but he said he would need to do further inspection once the sheet rock was removed from the walls. Wasn't sure what he would find, he said. I guess he noticed I was about to have a heart attack. He assured me he would do his best to fix the mess without removing most of the ceiling and the walls. What he uncovered was not pretty. Anyway, he started the job and kept me informed every step of the way about what he had found and his recommendations. Despite the fact that he had discovered even more problems in the basement, the work was completed on schedule. Everything was perfectly done and he cleaned everything up when the job was done! He even changed the dryer vent hose in the laundry room because it was the wrong one. I was very impressed. He is very professional, reliable and his pricing is excellent. I recommend him with my eyes closed. My basement is now a beautiful, cozy place where I can relax instead of the eye sore I had grown so used to. Thank you so much Chris! EXCELLENT. Chris started with a custom installation. I wanted an old door table turned into a cool, custom shelf. Chris saw the vision right away and specified that I needed some nice rusty chains to hang the door up. He expertly installed the shelf, making sure not to damage the table. The end result is amazing. I went on to hire him to install lighting in my living room (working with an electrician for the wiring work). And, then I hired him to install some complex Ikea kits (for storage units) and to hang my pictures and art pieces on my walls, some requiring custom installations. Chris is extremely creative and always comes up with an incredible solution to ensure that the desired effects are achieved.

I'm in the process of purchasing a house and Chris was kind enough to come to one of the showings and give me an estimate on the attic. Not only did Chris give me an estimate of the work in the attic, he advised as to the overall condition of the house and mentioned how the house has great "character." He was prompt and delivered his estimate exactly when he said he would. I had some follow up questions and Chris promptly responded. I will definitely use Chris for all of my projects in the future.

We had a great experience with Smart Fix. Chris is professional--estimate is clearly itemized and a computer model of the new room was provided so we could get a clear idea of what it would look like. He is punctual, trustworthy, and fastidious (taking off shoes inside the house, putting down plastic on the carpets, vacuuming the basement after the job is done). When we asked him to do something, he would try to come up with solutions that would save us money instead of charging us more for labor. We have already recommended him to others, and will continue to do so.

All closet doors repaired and work beautifully. Railings look so much better than I expected - Got the color and finish just right! Down spout works just fine Railroad tie looks great WORKS VERY NEATLY!

Excellent work and service at a fair price.

Chris replaced 3 wooden gates and needed to engineer them into position by customizing them. Not only were they replaced, but they now work better than the originals! He pays attention to details and does quality work. Will definitely hire him again.

Chris, the owner of Smart Fix LLC, was very friendly and the best part other than the price was he was VERY flexible and was able to meet my schedule. I was in my attic when I did what most people fear; I cracked the sheet rock ceiling because I lost my footing in between joists. There was a 2'x2' section of unrepairable damage plus a stress crack running to the next wall. The repair took a couple of hours on 3 seperate days (3 coats of compund+sheetrock replacement). He replaced the setion with a new piece of drywall and made a brace in between the joists. He put on the three seperate coats of compound over the whole area starting with a thick coat to a nice finish coat so I wouldn't have to do mucvh sanding. The job was done right and it looks great!

Chris was very polite and courteous. He worked quietly and was very efficient. He took care to seal off the entryway as to not create dust throughout the house when removing the stucco and drywall, and when sanding the joint compound. We were not ready for him the first day, but he was very flexible and found another area to start his job.

Chris does excellent work. He took the time to find special door knobs to fit my house's odd size interior doors. He is friendly, professional and courteous.

He is a handy fellow who seems to be able to tackle a lot of jobs.
