Description of Work: Used more expensive products without informing. Found a leak in roof because there was no flashing applied so heavy rain brought heavy leak. Installed inferior French door. Could go on. Would never call again. Also it was 15yrs ago.

Description of Work: Searching Angie's List for a contractor who does masonry in the Denville area, I found Roeland Enterprises. I spoke with two people (one must have been from an answering service) and set up an appointment to quote on a retaining wall. A few days later I received a call that do they not do that type of work. While the person who left the message was nice and apologetic, I was disappointed that I rescheduled a Saturday for no reason and also wasted time in getting a quote.

Description of Work: It's actually a few years back, but they replaced all of my windows along with the french door leading out to my back deck. They listened to all my ideas and offered up suggestions (that wound up working better)...two years later, I did have an issue with the window on the door losing it's seal- they looked at it right away for me and replaced it no questions asked. They stand by their work, they listen to their customers ideas, and they offer up options based on your goals for your home.

Description of Work: Old roofing was removed and replaced. Their price was about mid-range of the bids. However, the quality of the materials and workmanship were far superior. It did take longer than I had hoped to get the job scheduled. They are very busy. I would recommend them to others.

Description of Work: I was supposed to receive pictures of my house with new exterior designs. The rep had no ideas of his own. He only provided a pic for things that I could suggest. I was looking for design IDEAS not my limited ideas put into a picture. Also I had to continually prod them to find out if they were even working on my design and when it would be available for viewing.

Description of Work: I purchased a good idea from them… they helped me with re-design ideas of our roofline, possible stone facing, & front porch changes. (We badly needed updating the look of our 80's contemporary) They come out to the house, take pictures, get ideas of what you like/want, then back at the office the draw various options onto the photos. It's such a delight to get these visual possibilities! You get a real sense of how your house would look when done. That's a far less risky way to plan any updates, in my opinion. Also, they are willing to work with you if you decide to go ahead with any or all of the changes with their company, from getting necessary permits to the finishing touch. Since they cover it all, one guy is talking to another, so there's less chance of error. I enjoyed working with the young lady in the office who worked on my photos. They want to please, so creative think is a large part of what they do in this 1st stage. We had a stall in the process after pictures were made, do to our daughter's wedding, etc, but hope to continue with them shortly after the new year. They were very accommodating, non-pressuring, and pleasant. I'm looking forward to finishing the process with them.

Description of Work: This was a job that we contracted for after they finished the work on the Angie offer. We had a series of leaks that required siding and other things. I can only judge by what I saw and that was a very careful and professional group of workers. They took care not to disrupt our lives more than was necessary. When the job was done the leaks were fixed and the siding looked great. We are going to have them do two more projects. I don't know if we could have gotten the work done cheaper but I don't think we would get it done as quickly and as well. We were pleased.

Description of Work: Rep contacted us, came out, photographed our exterior, emailed us different computer generated version of different exterior choices for the home and followed up. prompt, courteous and not pushy.

Description of Work: I found Roeland on your site and took advantage of their $50.00 offer to send me 3 mockups of different siding upgrades. They were done in a timely manner etc. Some months later a salesman came to our house and gave us brochures on new doors and siding. Since we were looking for suggestions etc. we received no estimate. However, the salesperson had some specific ideas on the front of the house. We decided to wait and think about how much we were going to take on etc. A few months later the office called and wanted to know what we decided as they wanted to keep their crew busy, I told them that since the rep they sent to the house had some specific ideas on what would look good to have him come up with a couple of ideas and pricing as we were most likely to proceed with at least the front of the house and a new front door. That was a couple of months ago and we have not heard from them since.

Description of Work: Roeland ran a special on Angie's list. They were to come up with five designs for $59, instead of the normal $250 price. When setting the appointment 3 times they insisted husband & wife both be home, which we accommodated. When their rep, Bob arrived, he spent about 10 minutes with us, took a few photos and left. We were interested in new windows, doors, exterior trim, etc. when he left he said we'd have a design within the next week. I had to email and call several times before we received the "design" three weeks later. It looked like 10 minutes was spent cutting and pasting. They had our garage doors with yellow paint, black front doors, and to top it all off, one of our primary needs was to add trim to lattice to dress up the front windows. We specifically told Bob the windows opened out and nothing could go in front. The design he gave us had something in front of of the windows. We assume they didn't want the job and didn't want to waste their time. We feel like they stole the money and wasted our time. I would never use them. I wrote Bob an email explaining why the design wouldn't work ( since he didn't listen when we talked the first time). As I expected, he never wrote or called back. I especially feel burned as this was a Angie's List special that was solicited to me via email. They were horrible!

Description of Work: This job was a Angie's list "Big Deal". The promotion was for complete roof strip off and replace for $8,888. From the beginning I knew that the real cost would be somewhat higher than that because of other items that I needed addressed that were not included in the price, I just didn't expect it to be as much as it was. When i met with the Roeland rep. he looked at the roof from the exterior and went up into the attic to inspect the underside of the roof. We then sat down and and with the additional work I requested and the addition of 6 Sheets of sheathing that i was told I needed I signed a contract for just over $10,000. Word of advise here, I learned from my mistake here that this is the time to ask the "What if" questions not after your roof has been ripped off and there is a huge whole in your roof and your told that all the sheathing needs to be replaced plus some of the structure needs to be replaced which will cost an additional $6,000. Fortunately for me I had the money available to absorb this additional cost. I realize that any project you start inevitably will reveal defects not evident until the outer layers are stripped away, so here is where you ask the "what if" questions and get estimates at that time, before the job begins. Take it from me, you are not in the best bargaining position when your roof is open to the sky in December and you are told you have to come up with another $6,000. So my $8,888 Big Deal actually cost me over $16,000. Roeland used high quality materials in every phase of the job and the workers did a high quality job, very professional look. Workers cleaned up after themselves everyday before leaving. One worker put his foot through the ceiling in the living room, but no problem there they did a high quality repair. Another item was that there was a bit of a language barrier at times but I got around this by calling the sales rep and told him what i wanted done and he communicated that to the workers.

Description of Work: Around entire house, installed new gutters that are covered and never need cleaning. All custom-made on site. Workers very professional and efficient. Cleaned up beautifully taking away all old gutters and debris. Installed new drain pipes where necessary. 3 new doors 1 one front door full view with screen, looks beautiful but you do need to change and store the screen or glass when not in use. 2 Basement custom sized storm door with half glass and built in screen. Has made a huge difference in heating there. 3 Retractable screen door where normal screen door not possible. Very innovative and replaces an old hanging mesh screen we had that was horrid. Repaired a door that was badly leaking cold air. Their price was competitive with other estimates I received though not the lowest. Arnie Roland is a delight to work with. Very pleased with the work.

Description of Work: Estimate was double all the other companies for new windows. Average bid price for my project came in about $7,000. Roeland's bid was $15,000. I believe they bid the project based on my age ( mid 70's ) and town which I reside. Feel they were attempting to take advantage. Be careful if you call for work!!!

Description of Work: Installed new bay window and replacement vinyl windows, capped all exteriors with aluminum. The owner, Arnie, personally came to my home and provided an impressive demonstration of the window features. He was available by phone and email afterward to answer all questions. The window brand is Quantum2 made by Kensington Windows and they are beautiful. The bay window is exquisite. The window frames are vinyl but look like real oak and all the interior trim is pre-finished oak. It is truly no maintenance. The replacement windows come with full screens and are absolutely beautiful.

Description of Work: We had 13 out of 14 windows replaced in our over 50 year old house. Two of the windows were large picture windows and the one in front became a bay window. We couldn't be more pleased at the work that was done with the only regret that we did not do it sooner. Inside and outside views are a definite improvement.
