Description of Work: I initially emphasized I wanted an English-speaking worker so she could understand directions, which I was not given. This occurred on several occasions with two different workers. The second worker didn't even listen or follow instructions from the business owner, Barbara. The first worker walked out once saying her ride was here, taking my money for the full service, and I later realized she hadn't worked the full amount of agreed hours. She couldn't have been more than twenty years old. Same worker used dirty water to rinse rags throughout cleaning time and did not empty water bucket until end of day. When I alerted Barbara to this (and other issues I was not happy with), after SHE called ME asking if I wanted service most recently in October, she would not return my calls to reschedule a different worker (I had mentioned my complaints, such as the dirty water and English-speaking issue, and after that she completely refused to return my phone calls, of which there were at least eight, trying to book service). I was polite to the point of desperate because I have cancer, am very weak, and need my apt. to be CLEAN. I find this woman to be completely unprofessional and also feel she's dishonest because each time I said I wanted someone who spoke English, she said she'd give me someone, then just gave me the same girl who did NOT. She could not understand a word of my instructions and I treated her kindly and gave her nice tips, too. My feeling is she did not care for my criticism but $100 is a lot for me and I feel I should get a good cleaning in addition to what I ask for. I'm mostly bothered by her rudeness of not returning my calls when she said she would find me another worker. Also, and perhaps most importantly, I have cancer, and need the utmost in cleaning and conscientiousness of LACK OF GERMS. Barbara knew all of this from the beginning, and if she could not send me someone who could clean in a germ-free manner, she just should have stated it and told me she couldn't help me. Instead I was left with no one to help clean my apt. I also find that I am missing some small items from my bathroom but cannot prove it because the worker put things back in such a disorganized manner (bathroom and under my sink when I asked her to clean and organize there), I cannot truly be sure if she put these items in weird places that I simply cannot find them. Anyway, overall, I'm left with feeling this was an extremely unpleasant experience. I would never recommend her to anyone. What also bothers me is how she bragged about having wealthy clients in the area for ten years and has been working in my neighborhood for years. I would imagine those clients' workers speak English and do what is asked of them, unlike my worker(s). On the positive side, there were times my apt. looked quite pretty and clean after a cleaning, but using dirty water to clean is completely unacceptable and rules out any of the positives. Barbara has called my house twice: the first time was in October to ask if I wanted service, when she then did not return my calls when I told her I was dissatisfied with the worker's work. More recently she called me again, I am sure by accident, then pretty much hung up on me when I asked who was calling. Obviously an error in dialing from an unprofessional, rude owner of a maid service. Do not hire! I guess you get what you pay for.
