DANGER: John at JM Proper inspections, just threatened me on the phone, yelled at me, insulted my intelligence, and threatened legal action if I write this review. Bullies need to be stopped; so here is the review. I contacted John a full month before a 1/6 inspection. I told John this is my first home inspection, and I needed his guidance. I told him about my multi-unit rental property I was purchasing, offered the listing and documentation (he said he would get it from the Realtor), and put him in direct contact with my realtor. I am positive of all this information because I took meticulous notes. John just called me, yelling, 13 hours before the inspection, that he needed to raise the price $1500 because he didnt know the size of the building. I asked him why this information wasn't presented to me earlier, and he lost it. Yelled at me, talked over me, was genuinely the most aggressive professional I have ever worked with. He offered no solutions, he gave no apologies for not doing his due diligence until the last minute (instead blaming it on his staff: the hallmark of a terrible leader), and threatened me with a lawsuit if I were to write a review about his behavior. Some direct quotes: "You write a review about me you will be hearing from my lawyer." "Your ignorance isn't my problem." "You lied to me about the size of the property" (After admitting that I told him on the phone the size of the property, asked him if he needed a listing, and put him in contact with the Realtor.) John might be a great Inspector, I will never know, I cancelled our Inspection, I could never give money to a man like this. If you want to spend money at companies run by people with kindness in their heart and integrity in their practice, I am positive you can find a better inspector than John. BEWARE. He is abusive.

It was great, they were very professional and on time.

This was by far the best home inspection that we received. The inspector instructed us to ask questions at the end so he could focus. He spent 4 hours inspecting the home and pointed out some very important issues that needed addressees. He was the owner and took pride in his work. He spent time educating us on general home maintenance as well as items noted in the inspection. We would definitely use him in a future home purchase.

I cannot say enough good things about JM. They have just saved me from purchasing a home were the seller tried to hide a foundation issue, which may have ended up costing me 10's of thousands of dollars to repair in a year or two. The reports are very detailed with photos of each defect and direction on what type of professional may best repair the issue. (Plumber, electrician, civil engineer) I think my real estate agent is not happy with them, as they found very serious defects, which prevented me from making a huge mistake. I would recommend them to everyone.

If you are like me your offer to buy a home was accepted by the seller's and now you're stressed because you have to choose a company to inspect your home. You’re thinking, "Which one of these companies is trust worthy?" "Some have a lot of reviews that are mixed, some have a small amount but they're all good.” “What if they miss something important because I chose the wrong one?” “Which one do I choose???" Stop stressing and just hire JM Property Inspections and go on with your day confident that you are in the best hands. After a bit of searching and stressing I decided to give JM a shot. I am so glad that I did! I left a message and was called back in five minutes! John was incredibly professional and patient over the phone in setting up the appointment. He even had one open the very next Monday! Still, I was worrying, "Did I choose the right company?" When Monday came, Brian, the home inspector, showed up right on time and immediately set to work on the outside of the house taking pictures and explaining in patient detail everything he was seeing and documenting. I could tell from his serious, focused attention that he was fully engaged in the inspection from the moment he set foot on the property. And talk about thorough! He climbed over stuff and moved the previous owners clutter out of the way to get a better look at the things he saw. One of these turned out to be a crack in the foundation that needed watching. The crack was thin, small and could have easily have been missed in the poorly lit basement. However, Brian caught it quickly and explained exactly what needed to be done to make sure it didn't get bigger and cause more of a problem. After he had completed the inspection, Brian stayed another forty-five minutes to discuss everything he saw and answered our many questions. He never gave us the impression we were wasting his time and never once tried to rush us to get the job over with. Brian was committed to making certain we understood everything in detail, no matter if it took five minutes or forty-five minutes. The report we received was extensive and showed the many detailed photos Brian had taken to document his findings. When I did notice one missing item I sent an email and the report was corrected the same day! No waiting, no hassle, no three phone messages and still no call back. Same day. Awesome. In closing, if there’s one thing I love it’s discovering people who are dedicated and devoted to excellence in their craft. Brian, from JM Property Inspections, I just such a person. His attention to detail and insistence that he leave nothing uninspected put me at ease and helped me to really understand the home I was about to move into. Stop worrying about who to call and whether they’ll call you back and whether they’ll do a good job. I already did all that for you! Call John and Brian and you’ll be well taken care of.

Horrible! Totally unprofessional. He was very dismissive, argumentative, and had a bad temper. I have absolutely no idea where his positive reviews are coming from. I'm probably not going to use another contractor from Angie's list based on this experience.

Extremely well! John and Brian both were very professional answered any questions I had with courtesy and respect. Meticulous in their review! I will be recommending this company to as many of my associates as possible.

Very well I was pleased with the work that was done.

It went so good! We had Brian come out and he did a fantastic job! He showed up early and did the whole outside and when we got there he walked us around and showed us all the things he had taken picture of. He took us through each room explaining each thing and telling us what was very important to fix right away. He was very friendly and listened to any and all concerns we had during the inspection. Also the write up they do about all of their finding is wonderful! They include picture and detailed descriptions of each thing so you don't have to question what was wrong. They add arrows and circles to the photos also so you don't have to guess where the problem is. I was very happy with this service and would recommend them to anyone!

After he was done with the inspection, I asked him if he checked the foundation walls to see if they were plumb. He did not, and that was one of my main concerns. He put the level on there, and the foundation was out. Because I opened my mouth and found the problem, I was able to negotiate the price down with the seller. He missed that, but he was pretty good for all of the other stuff.

Had an appointment at 9am, John( inspector) arrive early. Was very thorough and throughout the process would explain some of the trouble areas of the property. Within 24 hrs, I received a very detailed report from his company.

John was able to setup the inspection very quickly. Both Brian and John were great to work with. They had the home inspection report over in less than 24 hours! Thoroughly checked everything and in my opinion went above and beyond what I expected. I would definitely recommend them!

This home inspection was not a good experience for us. His report is a "check box" table format. If an area of the house is of concern, he will just mark the box without any further detail, opinion or guidance within the body of the report. It was useless to us in the negotiations with the seller. Worse that that, we were dropped from our home insurance coverage when their reps inspected the house. This was by a name brand insurance company. We had to go with a more expensive home insurance provider that "looked past" the problems with the house. I understand other reviews that say he was prompt and easy to work with. That's important but having a report you can use to save you potentially thousands of dollars would have been worth much more.

John showed up on time and went to work right away. I'm a former Realtor and have never had a home inspector spend so much time and pay so much attention to detail as John did. He identified problems that we had no way of knowing existed and helped us make an informed decision about the purchase of the home he inspected. He was easy to reach and answered all questions we had. His report was extremely detailed. If we ever need another home inspection, John is the inspector we will call.

John provided us excellent communication both pre and post inspection. He arrived on time on the day that was convenient for us, and took the time to answer any and all of our questions. He spent an extensive amount of time inspecting all areas of our home with what he called "TheTrifecta"; Inspection, Termite, & Radon. Within 24 hours of his inspection he provided us a detailed report of his findings. This report proved to be invaluable to us and our realtor prior to our settlement with the seller. We were very happy with his professional and courteous service. We would definitely use JM Property again on any purchase of a home!

Perfect! Second time my husband and I have used John in the past few months. It's so comforting to find an inspector like him and to know he takes his time and is 100% honest. Hopefully this house works out... But if not, John will get our business for a 3rd time. I would HIGHLY recommend!!!

John was a fantastic choice! First off, he was extremely flexible and patient. We had to change the date last minute, and John did it for us even though he was very busy. Then, the day of our inspection, our realtor was an HOUR late... And while we were all annoyed, John was very professional about it and didn't rush to make up for the time. When we first got there, John walked around the outside with his colleague and showed us all of the little things he noticed. This is my husband and I's first home, so we don't know what to look for usually. John also showed us a HUGE issue with the roof/addition to the house and explained it to us in a way that was easy to understand. Once our realtor finally arrived and we got inside, they did an extremely thorough job of inspecting everything. They showed my husband all the issues with the roofing and other parts of the home. All in all, I learned a lot about the home we are hoping to purchase (once it's fixed). John did a phenomenal job explaining everything to us. His report came with many pictures and great explanations. If for some reason this deal falls through, he will be the guy we call to inspect the next house.

John was very professional, prompt, & extremely informative.

Excellent and thorough. Reasonably priced! Explained every thing and recommended other services as well. It was worth every nickel! I will use him again and recommend him to anyone!

John arrived at site late afternoon and set up immediately. He left nothing undone. I received a multipage report,with close-up photos in my email the next day,less than 24 hours later! Even though this sale did not make it to settlement table, John was a pleasure to work with. This is the second time I had hired him for home inspection, both times he was so professional and thorough. I am still shopping for that forever home, but when I find find it, JM Property Inspections will be my go-to home inspector.

John arrived on time-did a thorough inspection of property-full report, arrived via email the next day. Included were photos of all areas needing attention! Very pleased with his work.
