STINKY'S SEPTIC TANK PUMPING

Went well, arrived on time or perhaps even a bit early, did the job. Courteous service.

Angel, the serviceman from this company, came on time. He is a professional and did the job properly. I am very happy with service.

When I called the owner to inform them that the tank was not cleaned out totally like the last time, he looked at my file and said that they had 2 guys flush it out before and that he would send them back. Instead, he sent the last inexperienced guy, once again, by himself who said the same thing and then wanted to charge US $45.00 on top of the fee I had already paid! When I called to let them know the work was not done as promised and that they sent the wrong person, the lady told me that she was not interested and that I need to find a new septic provider as this is "not a good fit". What? You robbed me of $340 for 15 mins of work that was unfinished with an inexperienced resource and now you won't back up your work? Avoid them, as they are POOR communicators, and even poorer at resolving issues, and backing up their work.

He arrived on time and friendly. He explained what he was doing. Later showed me that the tank was emptied and clean.

Our septic alarm went off at 5PM on Friday -- of course -- which meant we would not be able to use water normally through the weekend without risking a backup. We called several septic companies but were unable to reach anyone else, but Stinky's had an answering service. Rather than coming out on the weekend at a rate of $200/hour, they suggested pumping out the tank so we had ample reserve, then resolving the problem at regular rates during the week. Their driver, Devon, showed up promptly at the agreed time, calling first to give us an ETA. Yes, it was $75 more than we were charged for our last pump, but that was on a regularly scheduled weekday. We are very grateful for the weekend service, or we might have had to abandon ship for a night or two to a hotel.

2 tanks had to be dug up 3ft and pumped. The guy who came was very professional and did a great job. He inspected both tanks and cleaned them with hose.

They did a good job of cleaning 2 tanks. Showed up on time.

The appointment was set up easily. The customer rep was friendly and nice. I wish they did call to confirm the appointment. The service providers were friendly and professional.

It went well and they did exactly what they said they would. Nothing but high marks for this provider!!!!

He is a pretty good guy. He did a good job. They were the local guys who would do a good job so we used them. When they pumped out septic there is basically additional charges depending on how much water is pumping out and initially he gave me a number that it couldn't be within the half of same size of septic, but he finally backed off and he is giving me a number he did look at the septic volume twice, so overall he was trying to make couple of extra bucks. He is responsive and they came right out and was punctual. The fact that he backed off is the most important thing in these. If you know little bit of what you are doing and I think you have to be educated to doing that. If the company is willing to understand that and what you doing and again you backed off that is important. I would use them again, because they know, I know and I knows, they knows.

On Thursday, I called my usual provider, as I do every three years, to clean out my septic tank. They came, but they had no idea why the tank was empty except for tree roots. They did not seem to know how to proceed and were asking for a great deal of money to do the job. They could not answer the question of why there was no sewage backup in the house. I fired those guys. I went to Angie's List and called Stinky's. They came immediately, bringing with them plumbers from Michael J. Messick Plumbing and Heating in Lambertville. These intelligent and responsive plumbers discovered that there is another septic tank on the other side of my house, one that I had not known about, and therefore one that had not been pumped in the thirty years I have lived in the house. They dug it up, cleaned it out, and then pulled all the roots out of the first tank and cleaned it as well, even though they had to put on Hazmat suits and go down into the tank to cut away the roots. These workers kept me posted every step of the way, worked diligently for two days, advised me on how to keep the tank free of roots in future, cleaned up everything before leaving a very relieved customer. They apprised me of the approximate cost before beginning the job, and we agreed that it was fair. I intend to call them again in 2016 to pump out both my tanks!

Unfortunately, the service person did not provide ANY reporting as to the results of the service, health of the system, suggestions for maintenance, estimated follow up times. They even confused us stating in passing there were two tanks, but they only cleaned one. Upon follow up, i did not get the information i was looking for. The service itself appears to have been completed successfully, but the lack of information left me questioning what they did and the resulting value.
