I attempted to contact the 'overhead door' division of Jaeger Lumber on three occasions by phone. No one ever picked-up the phone or even returned my voice messages. I guess they didn't need my business; and probably don't need yours either! A call to Metropolitan Door had my garage door working the next morning.

Appt. was originally 8/5/14. Missed and rescheduled. Came first thing. Door is working fine. Mechanism is 20 years plus so that's good.
Description of Work: Door would not raise or lower. Made adjustments and replaced springs.

After talking to several expensive kitchen designers, we found John Gasper at Jaeger Lumber in Union, NJ, and it was one of the best moves we ever made. John is a better kitchen designer than any of the expensive people we had talked to, and his prices are much more reasonable. He also worked with a construction company, R.G.F., that was quite good. We ended up going with Fieldstone cherry cabinets, and I would say that our kitchen looks better now after three years than most new kitchens do. And it cost a fraction of what we almost paid. This is one of those cases in which you don't get what you pay for - you get a lot more.

Called Jaeger Overhead Door in response to sale ad in local paper. Arranged estimate appt with mgr Bill Brodean who performed job inspection himself---got email estimate same day. Job performed one week later by a Jaeger installer---not farmed out. Price did not deviate from estimate. I am delighted with both the work, and the people I dealt with---pleasant, professional, responsive, and flexible in working around two sudden schedule changes I had. Installation went smoothly, work site left clean, and door works well. I am recommending this crew to two relatives.
Description of Work: Removed old single width garage door and all hardware, tracks and brackets. Replaced with new name-brand door and hardware. Lift motor and control was not replaced. Door trim replaced with new materials which seal well on all four sides. Brass trim mail slot installed cleanly on site.

Overall it went extremely well. All cabinets were delivered on time and all were in good working order. There was one cabinet that got damaged in transit and John immediately ordered a new one. He visited our home before installation to discuss particulars with our contractor and visited us during the actual process. There were a few extra shelves that we ordered plus hardware. Everything is in place now. And we are extremely pleased with the aesthetics and the efficiency of a working kitchen. We would, without a doubt, recommend John Gasper and Jaeger Lumber.
Description of Work: John Gasper, Jaeger's expert kitchen designer, designed our kitchen to our satisfaction. It was a well designed professional kitchen that has all the amenities one would need to satisfy the top chefs. It also was beautiful. John showed us numerous cabinets to choose from. All the cabinets were well made of solid wood with an attractive interior. John ordered the cabinets, hardware, glass. He helped us choose and/or gave us options for granite, plumbing, hardware, glass for cabinets, etc. In fact, he has an eye for detail on what makes an efficient kitchen i.e., the hinges, the working mechanism on the shelves, pantry needs, etc.

We called Jaeger to ask if they installed garage door openers with keypad controls. They were prompt to schedule the estimate, and prompt to schedule the installation. The man who did the work was personable, professional and neat. When finished, he explained the operation of the equipment clearly and invited us to call him if we ran into any issues. The keypad and the opener work very well and we're happy.
