Mr Chips Tub and Tile Repair

I asked for a written quote since he asked for cash but said there could be other work. I got a text from Bill as follows: Had a crazy day saturday. Is this the shower i looked at? Yes. I need to have your price in writing and what am I getting for paying cash. Are you registered and insured? Yes but you will have to find someone else. Dont have time fos all that bs paperwork What kind of obnoxious person replies this way? Extremely non professional. No way would I work with him. Update 4/28/2022 This is a response to my previous review which the contractor responded to. My comment is “Give me a break”. He turned the whole story around and made it seem like it was my fault. This is his comment to me by text: “ Thank you for your anji review! I responded. You need to pull a permit and get that done right. It needs to be ripped out and reinstalled. As it sits, it is unsafe.” this comment is CYA and does not represent the facts.

"Mr. Chips" DBA Consolidated Fuzzball, real name William Frankenfield, began a reglazing bathtub project. He was paid 1,000.00. He refused to return and finish the project. The bathtub remains a mess 8 months later. I took him to small claims court and was was awarded half my money back. He told the judge he needed a payment plan. The judge ordered him to work out the payment plan with me. He left the courthouse after refusing to pay me. He then blocked my texts. I will have to pursue furthur legal action. My advice is to not pay him any money in advance.

He charged me $500 to do the repairs and he told me that it would cost so much because the chips might come back and he would have to do touch-ups. However he has not been back and there are cracks all over my tub. He always sounds nice on the phone and he always has an excuse as to why he won't come back. He even told me "I didn't have your number" but I've given this guy my number three times. It has been over two months and I still have not had these cracks repaired. He did want to come over on Thanksgiving when I had eleven guests in the house so if course I didn't want him over then. he said he would be back the week after Thanksgiving but it is now a week into December.

Really courteous and called me back to give me names of companies closer to me that can do the work. It was a great experience with an honest professional. It's rare to find these types of individuals today

After many so called professional companies that came to my home & looked at the dammaged tub. I was told by all of them, that this repair could not be done, and in addition, if they did attemp to make repairs, they would not last but a couple of months. I was even told that I should use," Gorilla Tape ", until, I could purchase a new tub. Some, contractors said it wasn't worth their trouble to repair & the cost would be that of a new tub installation. Then, I was out of all my options, & was going to attemp to make the repairs myself. Just in time, I was able to have, Bill, from "Mr. Chips Tub & Tile Repair & Refinishing", gime me a qoute. After emailing him a picture of the dammage he immediately gave a more thatn reasonable price, & guarantee. He explained that it could deffinetely be accomplished. Bill, spent just about the whole day at my house working on the tub. He brought all of his tools, & prepped the bathroom area with alot of , drop cloth, and removed the screen from the bathroom window, to install an exhaust hose fan, so there would be no dust, or dirt left in the area. He had to make many differant types of applications of repair techniques, and then had to use an electric powered grinder for some time.Then after all was sanded down properly, a " UV high intensity light, & dryer ", were also needed for this job. Bill, then reglazed the entire tub, & freshly installed all new tub caulking, which was not included in his job quote. Bill, went beyond all of my expectations, after the whole job was finished. The tub looked like a brand new tub. My, wife & I were extreamly happy & greatful for Bill's hard work, & kind generous manner. He went above & beyond of what was expected. I highly recommend this, gentleman for any repairs on your tub.

Bill did a magnificent job of matching our current colors. He fixed the fiberglass tub that had a small hole in it. Then he glazed over 1 of our bathroom sinks. It looks great. He did the downstairs bathroom re-glazing the area around the tub. Then he re-cauked. Both tubs. He is a master of his trade!

Bill fixed the initial problem, plus fixed two other minor problems at minimal extra charge. His work was excellent, and you can barely tell there was ever the large hole in the side of the tub. Friendly, fast, and efficient.
