Working with Scenic View was a great experience from beginning to end. When I called Scenic View and left a message, Frank returned my call within 15 minutes and was that responsive throughout the experience. This is amazing for two reasons: 1) Scenic view actually has voicemail that allows customers to leave a message and 2) that they return the call promptly. This would seem like "Good Business 101" but considering that many of my other calls to other vendors have not been returned to this day, it is definitely commendable and worthy of mention here. In addition, once we established a meeting time, Frank arrived on time. During the initial walkthrough of our yard, Frank listened to what we were looking to have done, and offered some ideas about how those things could be accomplished. He also had ideas for different plants that would do well not only for the climate, but also for the sun exposure in our yard. Before he left, I had an estimate in my hands. It took my wife and I a couple of weeks to firm up exactly what we wanted to get done but once we did, Frank came out again and helped us firm up the plan and he quickly re-estimated based on some new priorities we had come up with. Fast-forward to the installation day. Frank and his crew arrived on time and immediately got to work. The work was methodical and precise and everyone was courteous and professional (even saying hello to my kids who watched fascinated from every window where they could get a view). In the end, the new playground area with brown rubber mulch came out gorgeous. The new plants were installed expertly, and any plants moved were handled with care. At the end of the job, all members of the crew walked the yard to do a quality check, gathered up any items that were out of place and left the yard in pristine condition. I was presented with a complete watering schedule and care guide for the new plants, as well as some instructions on any of the plants that were moved to water them as if they were new. Finally, I was handed the bill that was exactly the amount we expected. This was a great experience overall and I would recommend Scenic View in a heartbeat and will definitely work with them again for future needs. In addition to doing outstanding work, they demonstrate that they don't take their customers' business for granted, and most importantly, the value their customers' time.

It was great. He showed up for the estimate on time, had great ideas, scheduled efficiently, did great work, was careful of the neighbor's plants (the yard is right against mine), and charged exactly the estimate. June 2014 update: the cleanup was great! Looks like new. They pulled out some 'volunteers" that had been planted by the squirrels over the winter, got up all the dead leaves and winter detritus, trimmed bushes, repositioned mulch that had been moved around by winter snows and hard rains. the original plantings from last year got through the winter fine, and are beautiful. the people who came were pleasant, efficient, and made sure that it was as I wanted before they left. And cleaned up and took all debris with them. I highly recommend.

Frank came out and gave me a free estimate for the work on Aug.7, 2013. He was prompt and courteous. The selling point for me, however, was his level of enthusiasm for the job. He seemed truly excited about the prospect of transforming my property and he shared quite a few ideas about the types of plants and shrubs he felt would look best. My property was so overgrown and messy that I felt as if I were living in a jungle. I was having a hard time even imagining what it might look with the hedges and holly bush removed but Frank assured me that he could make my property look beautiful. So I decided to go with Scenic View and boy am I glad that I did! Although Frank told me he would most likely get to my job in two weeks, he actually completed the job 8 days after he gave me the estimate. The crew arrived around 7:30am and they worked until about 5:30pm. I was thrilled that they completed the job in one day! Let me tell you, removing 2 sets of very old and overgrown hedges was no easy thing and digging out a huge holly bush (that had grown into the size of a large tree) was a challenge as well. Best of all, the shrubs and plants that Frank and his crew put in are all beautiful! The inclusion of several boulders and Delaware stones added the final touches to my landscaping. I could not be more pleased with the job and I now love the look of my front lawn! When Frank and his crew left at 5:30pm, you would never even know they had been there (except for the amazing transformation) because they cleaned up so meticulously. This whole experience for me was such a positive one in every respect. There is no doubt that I will use Frank again next year to transform my backyard. This was the first time I have ever used Angie's List to find a contractor and after finding and using Scenic View Landscaping, I am sold!

I was very impressed by the professionalism of Frank when he came to do the estimate, he explained things in detail, didn't over promise, just told us what it'll take to get the job done and answered every question we had. It is one thing when an estimate is done and the work is agreed upon, the sign of a good business is the work ethic and professionalism of those that will be doing the work. They came on time, early in the morning, after showing them to confirm what needed to get done, they started working, wasted no time and by the time I came home, they were done. My wife and I were absolutely thrilled with the work done, they showed they cared. This is the first time that I've had work done on the house where we had no issues with any aspect of the job from beginning to end. I do plan on using these guys again in the future and have already recommended them to other folks who have shown interest.

I contacted Scenic view based on the rating they have here on Angie's list. It was once again the right move. Frank was quick to respond to my initial call, collected a little information, scheduled a convenient time to come by and walked the property with me while i explained the items that were to be completed. Within a day Frank got back to me with an estimate and showed grreat patience as i was traveling and not able to follow up with him in short order. When i finally did get back to him and indicated i was interested in working with him on the project , he made another run out to the property and we discussed a few changes to my original request, he provided suggestions and images of material to be added, compiled an estimate on the spot and we scheduled the work to be done within the week. Frank called to follow up confirming dates and times at least twice prior to showing up and as anticipated was right on time with a good crew of guys that jumped to work right away on one of the hottest days of the summer. I also think that its important to note at this point that Frank remained fully involved in the project working side by side with his guys and was not in anyway hands off. I always appreciate when the guy that sells me on a job is actually the one doing the work. Frank estimated the job to take a day or two, and he was spot on, after wrapping up the first day and taking off, i had the opportunity to soak in the great work they had done and consider a few modifications. The next morning when they all showed up i explained the few changes i would like to see done, and without flinching Frank altered the original plan and did not hit me with any extra charges. Once the project was complete Frank even made a point of doing a drive by a few days later following a rain storm and called to provide a few suggestions for an area exposed to runoff. My entire experience with Frank and Scenic was a good one, Frank was enthusiastic, great to work with, stayed within budget, and has great follow up. I would highly recommend using these guys and would not hesitate to do so again in the future. Thanks to Frank and his staff for a job well done.

Absolutely beautiful job. I asked for a flowering landscape which I could never get from other landscapers. Frank did such a great job and truly does all he can to make his customers happy. My back yard is full of colorful blooms and flowering plants. Also Frank doesn't just do a job and disappear. Within the last month he has called and emailed to make sure all is well. It has been a pleasure doing business with such great people.

I told them what I wanted and they did perfectly. They cleaned up after themselves. Angie's List had great reviews for them and I was happy with their service.

Frank did an excellent job. He did exactly what he committed to on a timely a nd cost effective basis. I like the idea that he takes a picture of your property and than inserts the plants on the picture on his laptop so the customer can visualize how it will look. He can also instantly replace a plant on his laptop if the customer doesn't like it.

I called Scenic View because of the good ratings on Angie's list. Frank promptly responded to a request for an estimate on some different landscaping options for the front of our house. He showed us pictures of some of his installations and tailored an arrangement of shrubs, plants and small trees that really enhanced the look of our property. He gave us a detailed estimate showing us the type of plants he was going to install and he told us when he would do the work. The price was fair and he performed the work when he said he would. He supervised the job from start to finish. The job turned out great and he took the time to explain to us how to take care of the plants. I would definitely recommend Scenic View for landscaping work as I got the sense that Frank really wants to satisfy the customer.

Our entire experience with Frank and his company, Scenic View Landscaping, was a pleasure. The estimate: During the initial meeting, Frank was punctual and provided great ideas when we were hashing out the project. His estimate was competitive with the other estimates that we received. The job: He and his crew did an amazing job on our landscaping project. They were punctual, clean, thoughtful, and extremely professional. They worked non-stop during the one day project - and although they finished early, asked if there was anything else that we wanted done. A couple of days later, during their follow-up, they replaced the brown mulch underneath my daughter's playhouse with playground mulch - no charge and no questions asked. End result: Our yard looks amazing and is now one of our favorite places to relax and enjoy. We owe this experience to Frank and his company - they were amazing!

The Scenic View Landscaping, Frankie Vaughan, enterpreneuer, was extremely efficient! The professionalism and work ethics of each member of Frankie's team was exemplary--each knowledgeable of his responsibility and showed proud in executing each assignment. Frank came out, did a walk through, asking for specific needs in the clean up; provided a written proposal outlining each task. Reviewed, in detail, his company's responsibility in this project; giving professional suggestions as to the completion of same. This project included triming all plants/shrubbery, trees,back fence borders, side borders; driveway entrance borders; trimmed trees closer to street; trimmed kokusa dagwoods(3); trimmed oritental trees. pulled all weeds from flower beds surrounding house (front, back, and sides) and from entire property; removed all firewood and tree limbs from woodpile; sprayed all weeds, patio blocks and borders;edged entire property. Frank maintained communication throughout this project AND called the next day to see if we were satisfied with the job he and his team had completed! YES, a job well done!

Allowed my toddler to sit on the excavator, and other than leaving some rocks in the yard, the job looks great. He sent me photos and videos while it was happening since I was out of state.

Clearly the pipes are well below the lawn. They added sod or seed when sod wasn't possible and did a very good job.

From the very beginning of my experience with Scenic View Landscaping, my experience was wonderful! The owner, Frank Vaughan, was professional, responsive, courteous, pleasant and punctual. He kept me informed of their time line for beginning the work and was incredibly punctual. He said they would start at 7:30 a.m., and they were here at 7:30 a.m. What a pleasant surprise! His crew, headed by Alex, was phenomenal! They worked very hard, never took a break. My backyard was a disaster! It needed an incredible amount of work; being that my soil is primarily clay, it was a very labor intensive job. They even did some extra work that I requested and never charged me for it! The week that we had the work done was a stressful one for me. My daughter was due to have her second child and I was caring for my 3 year old grandson. Frank's crew was unbelievable with him. He was full of questions and followed them whenever he could. They never ignored him or his antics. They even let him sit in the front end loader (with my supervision, of course). And, I never felt uncomfortable leaving them working when I went to the hospital to see my new granddaughter. Not only would I use Scenic View Landscaping again, I've already requested a quote for some additional work. Now that my back yard looks so great, I want the landscaping on the other 2 sides of my property made beautiful. I LOVE my back yard, and already have spent more time out there in the past few days than I did for the previous month! GREAT JOB Frank!

The job was done with great detail as Frankie promised, and the crew was very neat and professional. Im never embarrased of my property, as it stands out from the rest thanks to Scenic View!

Everything looked terrific when Frank was finished. Frank showed up on time every day and the work site was neat after each day's work even with the heavy rain that slowed things down.

Frank and his crew were AWESOME...should have had this work done 10 years ago. My mom was unhappy that the alleged hydrangeas she planted herself never bloomed, but instead grew wild and brambly, blocking the front windows. She really wanted the flowers, so we finally decided to have some professional landscaping. His initial assessment was professional and prompt, he supervised the work crew himself, provided care instructions and everyone is happy with the beautiful new plants. Frank even called back two weeks later to advise us to increase the watering schedule, due to unseasonably hot weather. I would recommend Scenic View Landscaping to anyone!

This is our second time using Scenic View. We used them last year to do landscaping in our back yard. Before we hired them we wanted to make sure we chose the right contractor because we knew we had a large project . We called 3 other landscaping contractors from Angieslist but we were not nearly as impressed as we were with Frank from Scenic View. He was the only contractor to call us back within 24 hrs and provided us with a detailed plan of what he was going to do. When we did our back yard last year we had Frank show us a plan of exactly what he was going to do. After seeing what he did in our back yard last year we trusted him to make the front of our house look just as nice. We gave him our budget and told him to work his magic! By the end of the day Frank and his crew created a unbelievable landscape. I also took advantage of the free installation of lighting. What a difference the lighting makes. I have dealt with many contractors off of Angieslist, but hands down Frank and his crew are the best!!! This is exactly why they have all "A" reviews.

I must stand up and applaud! For any woman who feels that contractors always try to take advantage of her financially, or for anyone else out there frankly, Frank is the one and only person to call and meet with. As a matter of fact, I actually spoke with some other owner of a landscaping company located in Scotch Plains, and who is listed on Angieslist, and while he is an arborist as well, he tried to charge me an obscene amount of money for doing the very same thing. I mean I take no issue paying for someone's time and expertise. However, this guy is no MD, JD, or CPA, and yet he actually had the gall to think he could get away with something so ridiculous! And he is actually laughable because he tried to charge me more than the MD, JD, or CPA's get paid for 15 minutes of their time. Anyway, Frank came to my home, assessed the grounds, provided valuable feedback, and provided me with a report. So, in working with Frank, I was extremely impressed with his professionalism, credentials, knowledge, expertise, follow thru, likeability, and reliability. I learned about him from Angie's List and that's why I contacted him. He has received great reviews,and after meeting with him, it is very evident why. He truly is someone who looks to do and does do an outstanding job, and I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that that's what he aims and succeeds at doing repeatedly. So, if anyone is looking for the very best, I implore them to call and meet with Frank because they won't be disappointed.

It went extremely well. Frank was on time. His crew got right to work and did exactly what I contracted him to do. I left for work and my front lawn was a disaster. I came home from work and Frank had brought what I envisioned in my head to life.

Frank returned my initial call promptly. When he came to see the job he was very informative about our options. My concern was to get the job done before Memorial Day weekend. He was able to complete the job as promised. He and the crew arrived right on time and started right into the project. His team was neat and cleaned up as they completed each portion of the job. I was really impressed by their work ethic. They removed 2 truck loads of bad soil and replaced it with high quality top soil. The sod was beautiful. When they got done with the lawn it looked 1000% better then what was there originally. The area around the pool was a major problem. It required grading and placement of Dover stone. This made the pool look fantastic. As the crew worked they washed off the patios and removed the left over debrie from a previous contractor. They even weeded our vegetable garden. Frank gave us specific instructions on how to care for the sod. He even helped us put our pool vaccum cleaner into the pool. Frank even offerd to come back and fix any damage done by the plumber who is coming to install a gas line for the pool heater. He told me how to instruct the plumber on how to remove the sod so they can dig the ditch they need for the pipe. When we had the family barbecue the next Sunday everyone was impressed by the job they did. I couldn't stop raving about them. I have recommended them to several people that are concidering having landscaping done.
