My husband and I could not speak more highly of Scenic View Landscaping and Design. The owner Frank gave us a fair price, great service which included numerous emails, phone calls and walk-through of our property to ensure he understood our vision in order to provide the service requested. The scope of our project involved other companies and Frank also worked seamlessly with them which made the entire experience easy for us. You can tell that Frank and his crew are passionate about what they do and strive to make the customer happy. We were given constant updates and was offered suggestions and options which we appreciated.His crew was friendly and punctual, arriving at our house at 7a.m. every morning and leaving at 8p.m. every night. Even after they left communication with Frank would continue via text and or email to fine tune every last detail of the job. The project was completed on time, even with some additional work added by us. Also, prior to the commencement of the project we hired another contractor to install a gavel pad in our yard, to make a long story short it was a complete disaster and we ended up with a gavel pool instead. We were leaving out the door for our week long vacation and I called Frank upset and in a panic, he asked to be sent pictures and reassured me that he could make it right...he said, "Enjoy your family vacation, we'll take care of it". While on vacation he called me once to confirm the details and when we returned home our disaster was fixed. You cannot pay for that level of service and peace of mind. We are truly happy with their work and would highly recommend Scenic View Landscape and Design to anyone in need of their services.

My main contact for this small project is Mr. Frankie Vanghan. He was very responsive and answered all my questions. There is no legal contract, but everything was written down before the project started. There is no bait and switch. They come on time and complete the job as stated. When there is an issue, they fix it. We build our own house and had experience with all kind of contractors in the past -- the good, the bad and the ridiculous. I highly recommend Scenic View.

Frank Vaughan's professionalism and knowledge were impressive. After interviewing 6 contractors, we decided to hire Frank (Scenic View Landscaping). Frank offered more advice about things to think about for our project than any other contractor. A couple of examples are 1) running a leader from gutter downspout under the new patio, 2) build a wall that matches our pavers vs installing a railing by steps that lead to basement access (looks so much better than railing), 3) recommended and installed concrete border with 4 ft rebar to support elevated patio. Frank and his crew were puntual and professional at all times. The work took 3 days. I was extremely happy with the attention to detail Frank and crew displayed, for example, we had Frank plant shrubs at his discretion around the perimeter of the patio. Frank remembered that my wife really liked a bush/small tree that was there previously that could not be transplanted. He planted something similar in size and flower color to replace the lost tree. My wife was extremely happy. Also, any time Frank thought a change should be made, he was quick to call us. Some examples are he recommended we round the corners of the L shaped patio, which we are very happy we took his advice, it gives a real sharp look to the patio. Another change was to ad a third step to our access point which really would not have looked right with 2 steps after seeing the completed job. After I told Frank I saw many rave reviews on Angie's list, and that was how I found out about him. He said that Angie's list has been good to him. Frank said making his customers happy is the biggest driver of growth for his business. I definitely saw how serious Frank is about ensuring his customers are extremely happy with their completed project. Now, as for the finished patio ... we have the nicest patio in our neighborhood !!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Frank !!!! n

Scenic View did a great job. From the time I called to get an estimate until the time they returned to replace the sod that didn't take, Scenic View kept me informed. Scenic View was very helpful in creating a design for our landscaping, showing us what it was going to look like and then delivering on their promises. The owner was on site throughout the project and called me immediately if there were any problems or questions. We would gladly refer Scenic View to our friends and family.

Scenic View Landscaping is doing excellent work. Frankie and Gary are very helpful. They came in on time and repaired my walk way. They put grass seeds and now the grass grows up very well. We feel very happy for their professional work and will use their service again in the future.

Frankie and crew were complete professionals and did the following major and other tasks throughout the property. - Trim all plants and shrubs - Pull all weeds and apply weed control - Re edge and mulch all landscape beds - Remove old tree stumps and install new tree/shrub - Install drift roses Extremely pleased with the work performed and would recommend them in a heart beat.

We have used Scenic View in the past when we first bought our house 3 years ago. My husband's job got relocated which caused us to sell our house. Our realtor suggested to do updated landscaping along the front of the house for better curb appeal. Since we have used Frank in the past for various small jobs and have seen much of his work in our neighborhood we knew he was the right guy to call. We called Frank on a Monday and he scheduled an appointment for that Thursday. He showed me and my husband several examples of work they have completed and gave us a few different options. Frank was very honest and explained to us what we should and shouldn't do. We decided to invest most of the money into the front yard landscaping and do minimal in the backyard. Within 2 weeks, Frank and his team showed up. The crew of 8 men completed the job in just 1 day. They also installed 4 spot lights and 8 pathway lights to light up the house and landscaping and also for security reasons. When the job was completed, the crew cleaned up meticulously and left no trace that we had major work done except for our beautiful landscaping. Upon completion Frank have me and my husband directions and a watering schedule to take care of the plants. A week after he job was completed, we noticed that one of the plants didn't look as healthy as it did when it was installed. We informed Frank about the plant and our concerns and with no questions asked, the plant was changed the next day. We have received many compliments from our neighbors and have referred Frank to another family member already. Our house went on the market and sold in less than 10 days. We can't thank Frank and his crew enough for the wonderful job they did. We have passed their name along to the new homeowners and are confident that Frank will continue to maintain the property and keep it looking up to par.

After a few heavy rainfalls in the spring, we started noticing water in our basement. We identified the area where the water was coming in and talked to a few basement experts to determine whether we should tackle the problem from the inside or outside. The basement waterproofing companies all pushed for installation of an interior french drain, which would have been very pricey considering our basement was already a finished basement -- so demolition/reconstruction was required. I called Frank and he made two visits to our home to assess the problem, offer recommendations and explain the procedure so we understood exactly what we were getting and why it was the right solution. He explained that by installing an interior french drain, we would still have all the water problems that we currently have outside. Water would still be pooling up against the house and finding its way into the basement. Although we may not see the water with the interior french drain, it would still be there --the foundation would remain wet and over time this would cause problems with the concrete. An outdoor drainage system, on the other hand, would get all the water away from the house and to the street. Also, a french drain is no good if we were to lose power (which usually only goes out during big storms) since there's no power to pump the water out of the basement. Logically, this made sense so we decided to enlist Frank to install the outdoor drainage system. Frank and his team arrived on time and got the job done quickly over the next two days. They added soil to grade property away from the house along the back and the right side of the house; installed an underground drainage system along the entire back of the house; tied 4 leader tubes into drainage system and installed plastic sheeting and 2x3 inch Delaware stone along the back of the house; installed drainage system clean outs on each gutter/leader tube; blew out all gutters on the back of the house; ran drainage system out to the street; and seeded entire back yard area. It's been over a month and we've had plenty of rain since the the drainage system was installed -- and our basement remains dry.

These guys were awesome. Frank was responsive and professional. Gary was here working hard with the crew. Everyone was professional and polite. They worked hard and did a great job.

They were really professional, knew what they were doing, and were very punctual; they came a bit early. They also gave us tips and advice which was beneficial. Overall they were an excellent service provider.

This was an amazing transformation. Our front yard was a disaster; the back yard not much better. In two days the crew of 5 made all of that disappear and replaced it with a beautiful new look. They expertly removed all the old grass, shrub stumps, and other leftover plants. They re-graded everything, planted dozens of new shrubs, laid down weed-resistant fabric, put down yards of black mulch, and rolled out sod. In the back they efficiently dug out and leveled the area for the new patio and laid down a beautiful paver patio. They also installed a gazebo (I provided). They filled out the area with more shrubs, fabric, and mulch. The crew worked tirelessly to get everything done, even taking care of a few extra things along the way to complete the transformation. Frank was very good about keeping in touch during the planning and scheduling phase as well as consulting with us throughout the actual project. My only criticism (and it's a minor one) is that he didn't follow-up with us after the project was complete. I realize that this was the busiest time of the year for them, but at least on check-in seemed warranted. UPDATE: I received a call from Frank after this review. He reported he had come by to check on the work but apologized for not getting directly in contact with us.

Fantastic! I was in a rush to get this done as the person who does my lawn was unable to provide me with an estimate in time. Frank came by within a day or 2 to meet with me and in less than a week, the work was done. He and his team constructed 3 beautiful areas and I could not be happier.

The owner and workers are wonderful. They completed the job in one day which was amazing. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I contacted Frank and he was very responsive and understood that a lot of things were being done to the house and I had a limited budget at this time. I explained the different stages of work I would like to do and he agreed. He also said that for now, a cleanup was the most important thing and then to work on the front of the house, leave the backyard other than a cleanup for now for the fall or spring. He quoted the price which I thought was a lot, but hired him based on the comments on Angie's List. He said that he would be able to do the work the following Monday or Tuesday. Monday afternoon the crew showed up, they were so professional, pleasant and extremely thorough as well as meticulously clean. When they left, everything was done that Frank and I had discussed. Once I saw how different the front and back yards looked I realized that there was a lot more work than I had originally thought The house no longer looks neglected. I am so happy with the results that I called Frank and hope to meet him next week to do the next phase earlier than I planned.

Beautiful work I love the patio! Frankie and the crew did an excellent job, they were extremely fast and the work is really so nicely done. I am completely pleased in the quality of the work. They showed up when they said they would, worked super hard and then cleaned up completely. Frankie is an excellent communicator, probably the most responsive contractor i've ever encountered. In short, i'm very impressed!

Everything went very well. Frankie was always easy to reach and did exactly what we talked about. He was punctual as well and answered all my concerns. I will definitely use him in the future.

Frank was very professional during when he came for the estimate. Six weeks later, around 8:00 am they got right to work, and continued working until about 8:30 that evening. 90% of the work was completed on Day 1. They returned on Day 2 around 7:45 am to finish up sand between the pavers. We were not satisfied with the layout of the small walkway from the driveway to the back door (not their fault, we were not home for that particular consultation) and without hesitation pulled up all of the pavers and redid it. We will be using this company again for future work, and have recommended them to friends and neighbors.

No return call. Left detailed message on July 2 about needing mulch added, mulch beds redefined, and some trimming, but no call back as of July 16. Update 7/23: Scenic did respond after this post and indicated the call simply fell through the cracks. He was apologetic and sounded sincere, so I do believe it was an honest mistake that they hadn't called back originally. I will probaly try them again if I need work in the future.

Since we could not afford a full hardscape patio we opted for stone. I had seen an episode on This Old House where they installed stone instead of hardscape. I met with Frank after seeing some work he had done on a neighbors property. Frank knew his materials, made suggestions that made sense and his price was good. After waiting several days for other estimates it was clear that Scenic View was the only landscaper that was interested in the job. I made follow up calls to Frank to firm up the date and the crew came in the early afternoon. Frank indicated they would be done that afternoon although we had our doubts as this was a big area. To our surprise the whole job was completed by 5:30 PM. Frank and his crew were very professional. We were allowed to use the neighbors driveway to facilitate the unloading of the stone material. They cleaned up after as if they were never there. Frank even took some branches as a result of tree pruning we had done saving us from cutting them up and going to the dump. I asked Frank about removing a tree and his price was on target so once I speak with the neighbors we will have him back to take care of that. If any other landscaping work is required we will bypass the the estimate process and contact Frank. We highly recommend Scenic View to anyone considering any type of landscape work.

The new landscaping is a complete transformation. The "before" was a hog pog of gardens from the previous owner - a cluttered rock garden with several overgrown perennials and shrubs; a few overgrown areas with several types of Lilies and hostas. We were unsure where or how to begin this project and not sure if the rock garden could be removed without causing other problems. We also had an area where water collected when it rained and wanted to improve the drainage in that area. Frank arrived for the estimate and immediately had a solution for all of our problem areas. He recommended we remove the rock garden with it's circular configuration and replace with a freeform landscaping bed along the side of the yard. He also remove the various other gardens and replaced with another freeform area along the back fence. Frank used the boulders from the rock garden and borders to create drainage in our problem area. All of this was accomplished in one day! Frank and his team were professional, curtious and creative They worked fast and carted all the debris away. The "before" and "after" was an incredible transformation!! We now have a professionally landscaped backyard. I would recommend Scenic Landscaping before any company in my area based on workmanship, creativity, knowledge and price.

Mr. Vaughan and his team completely transformed in one day the portion of our backyard that used to be deserted and full of bare spots and weed. Things went very smooth from the outset. Frank's design proposal and price quote was way better than his competitors', so decision to go with Scenic View was a no-brainer. Frank maintained good communication via email & phone leading up to the actual execution date helping us to select the tree and other plants. The workers were punctual, courteous, and hard-working. Frank was present on the site most of the time and readily available for my questions, which was very helpful. As for the execution, they did really above and beyond my expectation. For example, they were supposed to place wood panels to prevent soil erosion along the portion of my fence - they procured wood panel with the same color as my fence and installed in such a way that the panel is not well visible (very smart!). Secondly, several weeks after the work was completed, Frank contacted me asking if things were going well, and after finding out the tree was weak and under stress, he replaced the tree with a new healthier one without additional cost. Their professionalism is truly appreciated. We like our newly transformed backyard, and would definitely recommend Scenic View to any one who is considering a landscaping project.

We started searching for a landscaper for a larger job in January. We interviewed and got estimates from at least 4 landscapers, inlcuding Frankie. After seeing designs and prices from all we chose to go with Scenic View. It was clearly the right choice. The main reason we chose Frankie was the comfort we felt in talking with him. He seemed professional and cared about his business and the work to be performed. As promised he was on the job himself and was always responsive to any concerns. comments or needs. Honestly and trust are important values when deciding to work with a contractor and Frankies easily meets these expectations. Even now,he will check on new plants, trees, etc... and if any problem exists he replaces or fixes the issues...no questions asked. We are thrilled with the results and look forward to working with him in the future.

Frank was great. He provided several landscape design options at different price points, and worked within my budget. He was very responsive, and got the work done quicker than expected, with some added extras (i.e. mulching around a tree that was not included in the price). Additionally, Frank was able to recommend someone to replace my fence, and he worked with the fence contractor to coordinate the timing of the fence installation and the landscaping. My yard looks amazing. I would highly recommend Scenic View Landscaping -- they are real pros!
