It went better than I could have imagined. The owner himself came to view the job. He was excellent. He told me he could clean everything up without a problem and, knowing we just moved in, the last thing we'd want to do is gut the bathrooms to do a reno. The guys who came in to do the job, were amazing. They were polite, professional, efficient and most of all honest. I'm only sad I didn't have more bathrooms for them to do. I recommended them to my realtor to offer their service to her clients to help them clean up their own bathrooms before selling or buying. They were truly amazing.

Estimate was provided after hours - to accommodate my schedule and get me an estimate ASAP. Work was done on time and as scheduled.

After four service calls, I am left with a cracked and chipped tile floor due to their inept and shoddy workmanship. After being cancelled twice and a third time the workman did not show up I should have seen the red flag. The first workman regrouted the kitchen floor and replaced a cracked tile which I requested he redo because it was not level with the rest of the floor. Then he proceeded to the powder rooom. After about an hour he called me in to tell me he could not fit a tile in place because he did not have the expertise. It was then that I noticed a chip in another tile not even in the area he was working. The next workman was able to replace the tiles and I was compensated a bit for the damage done. After less than two months the newly installed tile cracked. Allen Peters, the owner came out to inspect and acknowledged that the tile had been improperly installed and he would have it replaced. After six weeks of repeated attempts to resole this problem, The Grout Medic has not returned my calls. It is obvious that this company and it's owner Allen Peters does not stand by his word nor his workmanship. About the regrouting, it was so sloppy that I spent hours on my hands and knees with a razor to straighten out the uneven grout lines. What a mess! The Grout Medic sent my floors to the emergency room.

This is a long review, so I will not start from the end: In summary: our patio had still cracked/ missing grout after $300 appointment with the Grout Medic. We had to go to Home Depot this weekend and fix the grout ourselves before the winter comes. And the Grout Medic ignores us despite our emails and voicemails. My advice is: Do not bother. Either do it yourself or get some other provider, this is overpriced and clearly not worth it! Scheduling the appointment for estimate was easy with Alan, although I thought the estimate was a little too much for the amount of work that I thought was needed (our apartment was gut renovated 2 years ago and we needed to have the patio fixed and sealing re-applied in the master bath). Alan called me however the next day and was willing to go down by $100. While it was still a little too much, we really needed to seal the grout on the patio before the winter comes and he had an appointment available in 2 days. The technician came on time, cleaned both the patio and our master bathroom, then he explained that he will not fix the grout in the patio, he will just seal it with the silicone. He sealed it, however, asked us not to enter the patio for at least 24 hours as the sealing needed to set. He also sealed the master bathroom, did not walk us through his work and left. This was all done in 2 hours (not bad of an hourly rate considering the quote for the entire job was over $800!). When we went to check we were horrified. As I mentioned, our apartment was completely renovated 2 years ago, with a nice marble shower. The silicon seal was done too thick, irregular at times and in some instances left unfinished with the sealing visibly missing. Patio was even worse: we realized the silicon was applied spottily only to few places, completely missing the broken tiles, missing some places where the grout was moving, missing cracked grout, etc. All in all the patio looked more like a school project than a job done professionally by a contractor and frankly, we could have spared the money, go to Home Depot, get the silicone sealer and seal it ourselves. We contacted Alan right on next day, sent him the photos and set up a new appointment with his assistant Noelle for the next weekend with a different technician. However, as it happened, it was raining the next weekend, so although the technician fixed the shower, he could not do anything with the patio, asked us to document within the release form that he could not complete the work and told us to call Noelle to set up another appointment. So we did, but Noelle did not reply to any of our emails nor returned our calls. When we communicated we would report this to Angie?s list, Alan responded, all of a sudden, letting us know that he had no further obligations toward us because we signed off on the release form (which, again, had a clear not stating our patio still needed to be fixed.) He did not care that this was something that was not in line with what he had agreed to in his last communication the previous weekend, the fact his technician acknowledged he couldn?t complete all the work, plus he also failed to acknowledge the warranty, albeit limited, his company provided. Stay away from the Grout Medic! There is no quality assurance in this company, all they care is to book another job.

Allan quoted $800 for the tiling work and regrouting of the stall. After careful consideration, and the trust that I had in Allan since he came across more knowledgeable than any other provider I decided to schedule the service. Unfortunately, the work did not initially go as planned. The first individual merely tiled the hole (with about average quality work) and put what appeared to be silicone material in the corners of the stall and filled in the holes in the grout. He did not even attempt to remove the grout and completely replace as Allan said he would. Extremely unhappy, I contacted Allan right away and without hesitation he offered a discount of $150 and to send another tech out to complete the work properly. The 2nd individual that was sent was extremely professional, punctual, and did an outstanding job which met my expectations. Unfortunately, nothing could be done to improve the tiling work so I just accepted it for what it is. The long story short is, if the tech that was sent the 2nd time around was sent initially I would have rave reviews about their service. I would recommend if you do have an initially bad experience to followup with Allan as he does want to stand behind his work and will make good. I answered No, that I wouldn't use their service again but it's actually a "Maybe". I just hated the inconvenience of having work done twice when there was no reason it could not have been done right the first time. I trust Allan will correct these issues within his business, like I experienced, in the future.

I initially called to possibly get a quote over the phone. I wanted to see if I would be able to afford the service at this time. I left a message and Noelle, which I found out later, is Alan's daughter, called me back within probably 15 minutes. I explained what I needed done and she was so nice. I asked her just an approximate price and I would not hold her to it. She told me a range and said it is also a free consultation. Alan would come and look, give me a price with no obligation. I thought that was fair. I needed a Saturday and she gave me an appointment for the following Saturday. Not 10 minutes later she called back and asked if I would like the appointment for the immediate Saturday coming up. I said sure! WELL, Alan showed up on time! The NICEST MOST PROFESSIONAL GENTLEMAN EVER!!! He looked at the shower and told me exactly what it needed, the price and when he would be able to do the job. He could see I was nervous because I have been dealing with house issues since my husband's passing. He was so sweet! He said everything will be fine when the work is done and not to worry. We set up and appointment for a few days later. He called me a little while later after he left and asked if I wanted it earlier since he had a schedule change! Who does that?? Now on to Chris the technician. He was supposed to be at my home at 8am. He called me at 7:30am to tell me he was running a little late. I told him not a problem to take his time. Nobody ever calls in this day and age to tell you they are running late. When Chris came in he introduced himself and went right to work. Although it is only a day later, the job he did looks wonderful! Restored back to a lovely shower. He explained what he did and when I should be able to use the shower again which would be in a couple of days. He left the bathroom clean and spotless. You would never know he was there! I was VERY impressed! I highly recommend this company and Alan and Chris! This will be my new go to grout company!!! :) Thank you gentleman for a wonderful job!!!! I am very appreciative!!! :)

Initially, Allan (Peters) was extremely responsive. I received call backs and he was prompt in showing up for appointments. I was very pleased with one service Allan offered: he picked up our new shower door from the store and delivered it to our home. Chris, the tech who did the work, was sloppy. He left a bag of trash on our porch and did a sloppy job with caulking in the new shower door. Chris used clear caulk and didn't bother to remove loose dirt and hair from the area to be caulked. Gross. A few days after Chris left some of the tile grout began to discolor. I called Allan and was promptly given a new appointment with a different tech to fix the issues. My appointment window was from 2 to 5pm on a Friday afternoon. The tech arrived at 6:30pm, 90 minutes late. Jim did an excellent job, however. A few days later more tile caulking showed discoloration. Here is where it becomes....interesting. I called, but received no call back to make a new appointment. Much to my surprise the tech called me late on an afternoon to tell me he'd soon be on his way over. I had no appointment made! and was in fact unavailable. I called the office again, and again received no call back. I tried to correspond with Allan via email. Success! I explained that, due to our schedule, I'd need an 8am appointment next time. I received an 8am, Saturday morning appointment.... .....and there was no tech coming to do the work. No one showed up or called. At this point I was furious. Allan and I corresponded again via email. I again explained that I needed an 8am appointment but was unavailable on Saturdays. I gave Allan 4 dates when I would be available. He would only grant a late afternoon weekday appointment or an 8am one on Saturdays: when we were not available for the work to be done. The issue remains unresolved. I have another bath that needs to be regrouted. I will not be using Allan Peter's company.

regrouted my stall shower several months ago. Did great job. Still looks great. They worked with our schedule very well also. Will use again.

The recaulking is already coming up, starting two months after the work was done. I've had to go around and try to fix it myself. I could have got that done for a cheaper price, but the men guaranteed me they were professional and the job was lifetime. I'd like for them to come back and repair it. The person who did the job was a nice guy, very polite. Update 05/19/15: The information provided in the response is incorrect. I had contacted them three times via email and phone, first email they replied and said they would come back out, but haven't replied to any emails or phone calls since then. The job was finished November 29th and began to see the grout peeling in December, less than a month later. I want the job done properly and I want The Grout Medic to come back out and fix the problem.

Apparently the $99.00 was for consultation and not for the actual work (per the owner). This was not clearly stated when I bought the provider's service in Angie's ad. I ended up paying more. It was steep but it was work that I needed done.

It was ok. I liked how they did one room. I wasn’t crazy about the color of the grout in the bathroom. He gave me a choice for the colors. The owner came out to give us a quote and a worker came a couple of days later to do the work.

They had left a message, but I didn't get it in time. I was too far away for them to come do the deal. It seemed like if I wanted more work, they would have come out, but because I only wanted about two hundred dollars worth of work done for the $99 deal, they decided not to come out. I wish I would have been told the first phone call. I did get reimbursed by Angie's List. At least that's what I have been told.

Excellent. They did a great job. This is the second time I have used them. They did caulking in two bathrooms and the kitchen.

First guys shows up to perform the work, only thing he is not the guy who works, he is the salesman who wasted your $200 u paid to do the work and give you the estimate of $700 to perform the work. what a lousy trap. Since then stopped using the Angie's list also as Angie is full of this crap.

I think the deal was a stupid deal: You pay some one $99 dollars to come give you an estimate. - The estimate is about $1000 for fixing old tiles/grout cleanup and grout repair in the bathroom. It is cheaper to replace the bath room tiles than have them fixed through this service. In general I think the deals that involve service credits are bad ideas.

when I went to pay him, he asked for check made out to cash, not the name of the business....because he said the business owed him money. totally unprofessional

We purchased a special $200 for $100. The owner, Alan, came out and gave us an estimate, explained the process and care required afterward. He was very thorough. We were also provided with instructions. We scheduled the work a month or so after our consultation. The cleaning tech was on time and it took about 1&1/2 hours to complete the work. The floors came out wonderful! There was a mix up with the charge; but it was resolved quickly by Noelle, the office manager. We would definitely use there services again.

They did a good job. However, they did not honor the Angie's list big deal, per there e-mail: "First I?d like to apologize for the inconvenience however, the Big Deal must be presented at the time of estimate as per the. We can either do more work for you and honor the Bid Deal purchased or Angie?s list will refund your $99 for the purchase." So the job that should have cost us $62 ($262 less $200 big deal) ended up costing us $262. I will be contacting Angie's list to see if I can actually get a refund for the $99 spent on the big deal.
