A Stroke of Genius Painting & Wallpapering

Several years ago, Tom Mendez painted virtually the entire house interior. Went fine, except for the insistence on Benjamin Moore paint, the loquaciousness, and the cigarette breaks. This time was quite different. Wallpaper removal was fine. But it took three days for the primer to dry--we had to use fans. Were told the good primer was not available. Were told to choose B. Moore or Sherwin Williams. Chose Sherwin Williams. Lighter coat appeared bluer than what was chosen--not too bad. But the darker color, a red, was unacceptable. Asked what type of paint it was and were told the paint was "Ben," a cheaper Moore paint, which was the "equivalent" of the Sherwin Williams. It was not. Panicked and said just get dark grey, since no longer had multiple color samples and now, unfortunately, the effect is institutional. Will get someone else to re-paint. Paint job not as good as previously, but Tom did put up a shade. The other problem is that while he stated he'd be in around 9:30, he never arrived before 11. Perhaps the problem is that this was a smaller job, but it was not a good experience. Additionally, we were charged for the gallon of paint we didn't want and will donate it to someone who can use it.

Everything went great. Very professional and did exactly what he said he was going to do and was always on time. I have recommended him to a few friends.
