I had a professor in college who managed to cut his class size from something like 200 to something like 40 overnight, just by explaining how he was going to grade the course. After going through what each grade meant, it was apparent that the best one could get without being the university valedictorian was going to be a B-. His description of a B sounded like an A+. His description of an A was simple: "An A is reserved for exceptional work." Eward of Next Door Movers has redefined the A for me. I wish I could give Eward more than an A. His service consistently goes so far beyond anything you would expect from a mover, particularly one that is honest and trustworthy. Generally, he will do the packing himself and coordinate any other services (truck, etc.) if you wish. For moving big items to a truck, he will bring someone else with him. Most people find him because they have rented a U-Haul truck and want someone to do the boxing and packing of the truck. (Good packing of the truck is just as important as good packing of boxes, he explained.) Eward came over multiple days at times we selected. He is SO professional. Always calls in advance to confirm he is coming, always arrives on time, always in an upbeat, friendly mood. He sets himself up in a space with all his materials in an orderly location, and gets to work. He works diligently, no goofing off. His boxes are masterpieces of careful wrapping and efficient packaging. He makes a record of everything that goes in each box, so you have an inventory if something goes wrong. He is an extemely-intelligent, extremely-thoughtful and articulate person who is a pleasure to interact with. He is the kind of guy who responds to every review of his services on the U-Haul web site; as they are all glowing reviews, he is mostly thanking them again for their kind words, and throwing in some cute personal message. It just doesn't get any better (it can't) as far as customer service and pride and attention to his business goes. Finally, I know that what we pay him is going directly to help support his family, who he clearly loves and is proud of. We really like this guy and couldn't recommend him and the people he selects to help him any more highly. He is honest, trustworthy, and comes at a price that is more than fair. He redefines the meaning of an "A" rating.

Eward was above and beyond anything we could have hoped for in a packing helper. We had an international move coming up, and needed to pack valuable fragile items as well as regular items. We were hoping that our packer would be sensitive to ensuring that our more fragile possessions (china, glassware, knick-knacks) would arrive intact, and after working with Eward, we have no doubt that that will be the case. Eward's communication before the job was excellent; he confirmed the order by email and telephone, contacted us the night before the job to confirm that we were still on, and then called us the morning of the job to let us know he was on the way. Eward arrived on time, and got right to work organizing the materials to be packed as well as the packing materials. He explained the procedure that he would follow to insure that every item was documented as well as packaged and protected properly. He was thoughtful, professional, highly-organized, experienced, courteous, friendly, warm, collegial and hard-working. He didn't waste a second of time, and his sterling personality and fine example made the time pass quickly for us as well. He knew so much about the ?whys? behind the ?hows? that he was doing that the experience was actually quite educational for us as well. His manner was so nice; he didn't preach to us about his methodology, more just shared it with us. So, while we were hoping that we would have someone help us who would do the job as well as we were trying to do it, we ended up with someone who taught us by example how it should be done, and did it better than we ever could have done it ourselves. It was really fun working with him, and we would welcome him back into our home any time.
