Description of Work: This is the second inspection within Hoboken that John Moss of Inspex has performed. Both times he was extremely thorough, and took time to explain and make us aware of certain aspects of our new home. I felt John was a true independent inspector that was not as concerned with making sure the real estate deal happened, but rather that I was getting an honest report on our future home. His reports are also very detailed with lots of photos to support. I would highly recommend John as a home inspector in Hoboken.

Good No Complaints it was a smooth process.
Description of Work: John was very fair and precise with his home inspection. He completed the inspection and pointed out all inconsistencies with the property present and future. He had a very good camera for out of range shots (ie. Roofs, 2nd Floor window sills). Good Guy, Good Personality, Solid Inspector.

John is wonderful ! He is very very professional. He spent three hours in the home. He checked every thing from top to bottom. Inside and out. His report was 33 pages long. When he did the inspection, he found things we did not see, which is his job. As first time buyers of course we saw the cosmetic parts, but he found every thing under pretty stuff, that is not so pretty. When he found something that was a major concern he called us over right away showed it, explained it and let us know what could happen etc. At the end of Inspection, he called us to a private area and spoke to us about his concerns, answered questions. But said wait for report also, he records himself as he goes through home with notes etc. So he makes sure to answer what he can at that time, he meets with you. Other things he needs his time to go over, then puts it in report. He had all the tools an Inspector is supposed to have, he carried in ladders, bags of tools etc.. went straight to work. He called me Tuesday because after the Inspection, he was doing the report. He must have come across something, he wanted to double check before his report was completed and we set up an appointment for him to return and double check what he wanted to. At no extra cost. This proved how thorough he is. He even double checks his own work., will not finish a report till he is completely done. The report itself was done professionally with pictures of what was wrong, explanations, repairs needed and cost. He has diagrams of what it is and what it should be. He is a very straight forward person, he tells it like it is, no sugar coating. That's why maybe the other review said he is not personable, but a very good Inspector. Which I found he was, I appreciate some one who is there to do a job, and does his job etc. He is 100% on your side the buyer. He looks out for you only, did not care what excuses the owner had. My owner had a story for everything, even when we first looked at the home. He was straight forward with owner, asked owner precise questions etc. he is not there to make friends, he was there to INSPECT. He is loyal to you. He is a very nice guy under it all, he communicates with you very well on time and available for you when you need him. He not only emailed me stuff ,he would follow up with a call to let me know he sent me stuff and to check my email. He sends you examples of all his work. Every time I asked some one about a home Inspector, his name was always said. My Lawyer even recommended him. My agent knew who he was right away, my homes owners agent knew who he was right away when they heard his name.Bottom line when he was done with our report etc. We had the ball in our court and control over everything in our purchase now. There was no second guessing his work by any one. Only thing I can say outside of this, is he does not do mold. He will point it out and say you need to have a mold inspection. So if your buying a home you know for sure has mold, you will need a mold specialist. Most home inspectors dont do mold. That is separate. I didnt have a mold issue. But I did have some other water issues, that he does cover in his inspection.I will always recommend him, and use him in the future if we buy again. I also know when I ever sell, I will be the owner who prays its not John doing my buyers Inspection. because I will know, if its not right he will find it. He is the guy, that when he arrives, everyone says ohhh crap, worries what he will find, because they know he knows his stuff and they cant fight him. His price is below what I have seen, and the work you get is above and beyond his price. He does not rip you off. He is fair. With his work and reputation, I was thinking uhh I am gonna be paying high. But when he gave me the price, I almost thought I had the wrong guy. Nope I got the best. You will to. I love, love this Inspector, pride in his work etc.. Which is rare to find now.

He was very good. He was very thorough in his report which helped with us avoiding a bad deal. He was not very personable, but he was very thorough, professional, and reserved his comments until he finalized the report. I was happy with him and I would use him again.
